Irish Setter – Dogs

I would like to thank the Officers and the Committee for inviting me to judge at this well-run show. It has always been a favourite of mine so to be asked was an honour. We were lucky with the weather, lovely sunshine with a nice breeze, just right for the dogs.

1. Corless – Swiftlark Invincible JW

A boy who is maturing nicely, lovey head and eye, good in sternum, substantial bone throughout, good length of neck leading into good shoulder placement, good depth and spring of rib, good in stifle, wide quarters which he used to his advantage on the move, best SB in agreement with my co-judge.

2. Chapman – Sheldonite Gingerbread Man

Another boy with a lovely head and expression, adequate angulation fore and aft, good depth of rib, gentle sloping topline, presented well, moved steady

3. Richards – Redclyst Captain Kidd

1. Jacobs & Bernard – Forfarian Fancy Footwork

10-month-old substantial puppy, well off for bone, well balanced throughout, nice head and eye, good angulations fore and aft with good sternum, lovely depth to his chest and good spring of rib, wide in second thigh, moved steady and true off tight feet.

2. Murray - Henaleas Maximilian With Derrydore

9½ month old, lovely head and eye with kind expression, well balanced throughout, good depth of chest, good in topline, lovely quarters, moved steady and true.

1. Danks-Kemish - Alolfrana All I Ask Of Eveandabec JW

16-month-old male who is very forward for his age, liked him as a puppy and didn’t disappoint today, beautiful head and eye, lovely crest of neck into good lay of shoulder, gentle sloping topline which he held on the move, excellent angulation fore and aft, elbows tight in, great depth and spring of rib, strong in quarters which he used on the move where he moved steady and true, presented well.

2. Edwards - Copper's Get Off My Cloud By Bonhomie (imp Swe)

Similar to winner but slightly finer throughout, nice head and eye, good angulations throughout, good depth and spring of rib, nicely balanced, moved steady and true.

3. Richardson - Bardonhill Mcintosh Red At Montgreenan JW

1. Lucas - Gwendariff Bachelor Boy

Nice boy who is substantial throughout but still racy, lovely head and eye, excellent front and rear properties, elbows tight in, good depth and spring of rib, lovely flowing topline which led to strong quarters, moved true.

2. Aldridge - Clonageera Winner Takes All

Reserve in a very good junior class, lovely head and eye, good angulations fore and aft, great depth and spring of rib, strong in his quarters, moved well.

3. Russell - Tiroen Touch Of Magic By Settesoli (imp Kcj)

1. Parsons - Quensha Thinking Out Loud At Bransett JW

Liked this boy, lovely head and eye, well off for bone and substantial throughout, correct lay of shoulder, good in upper arm, great depth and spring of rib, good over the croup, wide strong quarters which he used to advantage on the move where he went true and steady, turned out lovely.

2. Gilks - Suteresett Mr Mistoffelees At Gochmawr

Loved this boys head, such a melting expression, balanced throughout with good angulation front and rear, great depth and spring of rib, good lay of shoulder, lovely quarters with good width to second thigh, moved steady and true.

1. Hemmings – Orlanset Mandolin

A dog I have judged before and placed and my opinion of him has not changed. He has the most beautiful head, lovely dark eye of correct shape and low set ears. He is sound throughout and well off for bone. Strong neck leading into excellent forehand and great sternum, good depth of chest and well ribbed. Excellent in topline and croup with correct tailest. Great muscle tone and he moved with ease and style.

2. Harris - Zakhan's Rough Diamond By Konakakela JW

Another lovely boy I judged as a puppy and he has really come on well, he possesses a beautiful head with kind eye of the correct shape, good lay of shoulder and great in sternum, excellent forehand, good depth and spring of rib, nice sweep of stifle, correct muscle tone, he moved out well with drive and precision.

3. Cohen - Lynwood Merry May King With Shushana

1. Pym, Bott & Milligan-Bott - Thendara Marshmello JW

Really surprised myself here but what a lovely dog, he has matured really well. Very well balanced throughout, excellent in forehand with good sternum, lovely depth and spring of rib, powerful quarters which he used to advantage on the move, he moved out with precision and drive, turned out in excellent order and condition, pleased to award him the RCC

2. Harris & Hoeksema - Blazing Bronze Happy Clappy Sings Konakakela (imp)

Very well-balanced dog throughout, lovely head and eye, great in fore chest and sternum, excellent angulations fore and aft, good depth and spring of rib, moved with drive and precision.

3. Murray - Bluebyeyou Love Affair At Derrydore

1. Gisby - Sh Ch Suteresett King Of Hearts JW

Have judged this boy previously and today he looked the best I have ever seen him. So balanced throughout. Classic head with the most beautiful expression, dark eye of correct shape, lovely crest of neck leading into the correct lay of shoulder, correct lay and return of upper arm enabling good forward reach, good in sternum, great depth and spring of rib, good in topline which he held on the move, strong wide quarters with good muscle tone which he used to his advantage, he moved with precision and drive. Turned out and presented in tiptop condition with his dark coat gleaming in the sun, couldn’t deny him the CC today and in complete agreement with my co-judge Best of Breed.

2. Edwards - Sh Ch Gwendariff Ucan'tmissme Bonhomie

A dog turned out in excellent coat and condition, lovely head and eye, good angulations fore and aft, great depth and spring of rib, good over the croup, lovely wide second thigh, moved with drive and precision.

3. Milligan-Bott & Bott - Sh Ch Thendara Big Love JW

1. Tapper & Leyland - Lynwood Heypresto Kedalita

A dog I have judged previously. Lovely boy, so balanced, kind eye, lovely crest of neck leading to good lay of shoulder and return of upper arm, good in sternum, good depth throughout and good spring of rib, excelled in topline, correct tailset and good sweep of stifle. Moved with precision and drive.

2. Tapper & Leyland - Kedalita Haribo

Another lovely old boy and boy can he move! So balanced throughout, such a kind eye with gentle expression, good angulations fore and aft, great depth and spring of rib, moved steady and true.
