Thank you for the kind invitation to judge at your show. I enjoyed the day immensely. A special mention for my two lady stewards who worked tirelessly in very trying conditions to keep the paperwork from drowning. Thanks too for the exhibitors who braved the conditions & took my decisions with grace.
I make no apology for judging the Show outside in the rain, the outside ring was large enough to see the dogs extend themselves.

1st Mr N Creighton’s Gunalt Insider.
Liked his head proportions, intelligent expression & exhibits good breed type. Unexaggerated right through. Well angulated front & rear, stands on good feet, would prefer a touch more length in back. Moved with reach in front & good drive behind which gave him the class.
2nd Dr Nicola Henderson’s Sabsky Brno At Nikostratus.
Not as settled on the move as 1, having said that I liked his head, kind eye & expression. Well muscled with good body proportions. Needs time to tighten & mature.

Limit Dog (2,0)
1st Ms Joy Pearman’s Weipowa Denton At Britmans. BD. BOS. RBIS.
A stallion of a dog, well up to size but in standard. Plenty of bone & substance without being coarse, clean cut masculine head, the kindest light eye, good length of neck, level topline sloping croup & correct tailset. Brisket well down to elbow, well sprung ribs carried well back to short strong loin, sloping pasterns & good feet. A special mention must be made of his superb fit condition which was lacking in some exhibits. Moved with balance but would prefer a touch more extension in front.

Open Dog (7,1)
1st Ms J P Maclaine & Mr R Dickson’s Greyspirit Rock Star From Hantzburg JW.
Another impressive male. His overall build suggests athleticism & a dog that will work all day. Typical in head, moderate stop & correct kind light eye. Correct length of leg to height at withers with deep brisket, ribs carried well back to short strong loin. Hindquarters strong with good width of second thigh. Goes on an easy stride & is sound from all angles. Moved the best in class.
2nd Miss D Kerr’s SH CH Kalimor Hudson.
Appealing, balanced & masculine in profile. Liked his head proportions, perhaps needs a touch more flew, kind light eye, clean neck into well laid shoulders, level topline which he held on the move. Enough forechest, ribs well sprung & carried well back to short loin, correct rear angulation. Looks a picture standing, on the move he is balanced.

Minor Puppy Bitch (1,0)
1st Mr M A Sayer & Miss D L Wallwork’s Braefell Briar.
Presents a well balanced unexaggerated picture standing, has the required length of back I was particularly looking for coupled with a light silver grey colour. Feminine head, good length of neck, well placed shoulders, correct forechest & well angulated front with length to upper arm. Stands on well arched feet. Brisket to elbow & elbow to ground equal. Level topline with slight slope to croup. On the move covered the ground with reach & drive albeit still loose which is as it should be at this age. Has a bright future.
Puppy Bitch (4,1)
1st Mrs S Dyer & Mrs Samantha Oddie’s Sharnphilly Annie Mac.
Has the attributes of the minor puppy bitch in a more mature frame.
The prettiest of heads of correct proportions, lobular ears & desired fold. She has such a lovely balanced outline with required back length & correct angles both fore & aft. Really so well balanced & unexaggerated in profile, covered the ground with reach & drive with more control than MPB. Will watch her progress. BPIS.

Strong, looked like she could work all day, shown in fit condition. One I have judged before & liked. Typical clean cut head kind expression, correct flew & characteristic ear fold which seems to be less prevalent, clean cut neck, forelegs straight and strong, correct body proportions with the desired body length. Level top line with sloping croup, strong angulated hindquarters. Just lost out on her movement today.

1st Mrs T Morris’s Kalimor Gem
What a gem she is, absolutely nothing overdone & a picture of symmetry. Loved her head correct eyes with super intelligent gentle expression, ears with characteristic fold which seems to be becoming scarce, set high. Long muscular neck with good shoulder placement directly above elbows well sprung ribs & deep brisket. Straight front, well angulated with good length of upper arm. Strong hindquarters, muscular & well turned stifle coupled with good width of thigh, shown in fit condition, is of medium build & portrays a balanced outline. Movement in profile was superb, smooth, balanced with reach in front & drive from behind exerting the minimum of effort. BIS.

Balanced & unexaggerated in outline. Elegant head & intelligent kind feminine expression. Liked her forechest, tight elbows, well sprung ribcage carried well back to short strong loin. A touch over angulated in rear, in fit condition. Moved with smooth flowing stride which in the end gave her this place.
