Special Awards Classes – Hungarian Pumi Club UK – Open Show

13 th July 2024

I would like to thank the committee of the Hungarian Pumi Club UK for inviting me to

judge the Special Awards Classes at their 2024 Club Open Show. I would also like to

extend a particular thank you to those exhibitors who brought such lovely quality

dogs on the day – it was my pleasure to go over them.

Junior Dog/Bitch (6,2) 1 st Wolf’s Csulli’s Dawn Breaker: this 14 month dark grey

bitch presented a compact silhouette. Lovely head with alert expression, good

mouth, excellent pigmentation, and correct ears. Correct tail carriage. Good depth of

chest and well coupled loin. Side gait correct for the breed, good parallelism moving

towards. A little close behind moving away. 2 nd Sarantos’ Blacktide Another Love:

14 month bitch with an intense white coat, still a little softer than ideal – but this will

come with maturity. Dark well placed eye giving engaging expression. Good ear and

tail carriage. Nice angles, but also a little close behind on the move. 3 rd Rose’s Pilisi

Kocus Ugyi at Vermiliona: Compact 10 month black bitch with much to admire on

the stack. Difference in maturity with 1 st and 2 nd was evident on the move, More

training will doubtless pay dividends in demonstrating her movement in the ring. 4 th

Kirkwood’s Bellpins Zigazigah at Yolstek: 10 month dog with intense white coat,

already showing correct, strong, crisper texture. Very promising, but sadly would not

settle on the move for his handler today.

Post Graduate Dog/Bitch (2, 0) 1 st Johns’ Breezelyn Ears a Top Tip at Alepenkye:

4 year old dark grey bitch. Good head with dark eye, alert expression and excellent

stop. Good ear set and tail carriage. Good substance, and stood “covering the

ground”. Light and lively on the move, with level topline – looked like she could do a

good day’s work. 2 nd Kirkwood’s Schnaubern Franz at Yolstek: Compact 18 month

black bitch with a softer coat. Sadly, unsound on the move today with both crabbing

and hopping in evidence.

Open Dog/Bitch (6, 3) 1 st Kirkwood’ Schnaubern Draco Star at Yolstek: 2 year old

dog presenting a lovely outline. Excellent head with correct stop and ear set. Good

chest and loin. Showed lovely parallelism on the move coming and going, holding a

good topline and covering the ground. 2 nd John’s Breezelyn Ears a Breakthrou for

Alepenkye: 2 year old dark grey bitch of good proportions. Lovely head with alert

expression and good use of her ears. Nice neck flowing into firm topline with well

carried tail. Correct low set hocks. Balanced and lively on the move. 3 rd Smee &

Coleman’s Ir CH Schnaubern Furud Star: 18 month white dog, with some hints of

red points. Good head with correct eye and expression. Ears well set, but having

rather generous tipping. Not so settled on the move as 1 st and 2 nd today.
