DOGS Show 1
My thanks to the committee of Humberside CKCS Club for the invitation to judge dogs at their double championship show, my first time judging males at this level. There was some real quality on display today, but judging is always a compromise. I was surprised to see up close the number of heavily trimmed exhibits, this in my opinion is not desirable, as the standard calls for the coat to be free from trimming
My co-judge Tina Homes and I, were of the opinion that the dog and bitch winners were of similar type, and we liked both of them equally so leaving the decision of BIS to the referee Mary Drewitt who gave the nod to the dog, and with us agreeing on all the other top awards.
My thanks to my stewards for keeping the ring flowing smoothly given the challenges of a double show.
