Windsor Dog Show Society

Breed: Pharaoh Hound

Windsor Championship show 29th June 2024

Pharaoh Hounds

I loved judging this gorgeous, ancient breed for the first time with CCs, I was very happy with the quality of my winners, particularly my final 2.

Veteran Dog or Bitch: 2 (1abs)

1st Ashby, Cappelaere and Samways’ Kurriera Krystal Amethyst

Stylish 7 years bitch, feminine head with excellent ears and set. Good length of neck into strong well laid shoulders. Good length and depth of body, correct topline, moderate stifle with sound easy movement, pressed hard for Res CC.

Junior Dog: 1

1st Nichols’ Zecharia Meet The Avenger, very impressive youngster, at only 10 months he shows great promise and style. Handsome head and ears, long neck with excellent shoulders with lovely front, bone and feet. Deep chest, well ribbed back with correct topline. Strong sound hindquarters, absolutely true moving front and rear, really covering the ground effortlessly and with great presence. Showed great maturity and looked lovely in both groups today, particularly the Puppy Group. CC, BOB and Best Puppy.

Post Graduate Bitch: 3 (1 abs)

1st Falzons’ Doucais Principessa Kini

3 ½ years well balanced head with good eye and expression, correct ears and set. Adequate Length of neck and shoulder placement. Good

length of body, moderate tuck up, with correct topline. Outmoved her classmate today with effortlessly easy side movement.

2nd Ashbys’ Regina Alessandra

At nearly 3 years is less mature than winner. I preferred head and chiselling of above, would like to see more front and hind co-ordination, pasterns still a little loose. Good overall length. Has style but not the easy movement of above.

Open Bitch: 3 (1 abs)

1st Svaldenytes’ Casita Hound Moon Love Story

2 years, very pretty head and expression, lovely ears and set, excellent overall conformation and balance, she has great style and type. Front and hind angulation have good co-ordination, and she moved soundly keeping her topline at all times. I understand she has recently gained her crown, well deserved and I was pleased to award her another CC. Pressed hard for best of breed, but the male just had that little extra special presence that is so hard to get. CC and BOS.

2nd Svaldenytes’ Casita Hound Lunar Eclipse,

Litter sister to above, another quality hound, a little more substance, and she has a lot to like about her, just preferred head and feet of her sister, excellent side movement. Good length and ribbing, topline and tuck up, lovely tail, set and carriage. Res CC
