BORZOI

Very grateful for a really nice entry of 56 dogs with only 1 absentee in the dogs and 2 in the bitches, which was brilliant as the entries have been very disappointing lately, so many thanks to the exhibitors for their support.

We were blessed with a lovely large ring, perfect weather and a good atmosphere and sporting attitude by the exhibitors. Always makes for a nice day.

Pleased to see my BOB male shortlisted in the top class BIS ring and my Best Puppy was 3rd Best Puppy In Show.

Puppy Dog 5 Nice to see some promising youngsters again ,we have been lacking in litters lately.

1st : Logvinenko`s Lynx Faster Than Light Of Noldoli. Red/white, not a big dog at 10 months ,he has maturity compared to his classmates and he is sound throughout, quite a showman for one so young. I like his head ,ears and set, would like a darker eye, adequate neck into shoulder, a little more angle of upper arm would co-ordinate with his correct wide and well bent stifles and low set hocks. Has plenty of growth in knuckles so will be interested to see him as a mature hound .I would like more pronounced topline, well presented.

2nd: Smettem Minson`s Chywoon Love Story. Taller 11 months white/lemon, more masculine than above and I did prefer his front and hind co-ordination, very nice head and expression, has good depth and bone, correct feet , moved soundly but not as settled side-movement today. Nicely made youngster who needs to mature into his frame.

3rd: Tomkinson`s Rosskaya Jim Beam.

Junior Dog :3

1st:Dawsons Mischran The Sequel For Stubbylee. Very handsome 17 months blue brindle/white. Lovely head and dark eye, correct ears and set, good neck into well laid shoulder, nice front and pasterns. Well bodied, deep brisket ,slightly shorter coupled than 2nd he has a good topline with nicely angulated hindquarters. Still needs to settle in front on the move but he has such style which won him the class. These first 2 have a lot to like about them and I am sure they challenge each other hard in the future.

2nd: Raczka`s Go Go Bolshoi Casino Royal {Imp Hun} Only 10 days apart in age but this hound is more mature, heavier style than above and at first I thought he was my winner. White/red ,typical classy head , well constructed throughout with pleasing outline. A little reluctant on the the move today compared to winner but he has great bone and substance, nice feet and in good hard condition.

3rd: Wallace`s Mischran Takoda.

Yearling Dog: 1

1st: Dawsons Mischran The Sequel For Stubbylee As before.

Special Beginners Dog : 3

1st: Dovers Palamedees Arian Khrysos At Keanver 2 years red/white, pleasing head and veining, lovely eye, ears and set, plenty of underjaw. Good neck into nice sound shoulders and front, good depth of brisket with adequate sweep of hindquarters, nice topline. Moved well when he settled in the large ring , particularly his sidemovement.

2nd: Umfreville`s Barnesmore Betelguese. Mature 4yrs self red, not as elegant as above but he has good overall balance, masculine throughout, would like a tighter front on the move but he has good hindquarters, tail and set,in good coat, well presented and handled.

3rd: Smith`s Rosskaya Penderyn,litter brother to 3rd Puppy dog.

Post Graduate Dog : 7

1st: Cherriman`s Slovyk De L`Hermitage D`Eole {Imp Fra} 3years white/lemon, won this class with ease, although his head is not my style I did like everything else about him. Very well constructed throughout, he is sound front and rear with good depth and length, kept topline at all times, good feet, best mover in this today in super coat and condition.

2nd:Ford`s Mischran Milka 2 years red/brindle and white, less mature than winner, I liked his head and eye, good ears and set ,,good length of neck into well laid shoulder, would like a little more layback of upper arm, not the front extention on the move as above but he kept his topline well and he has good hind co-ordination, tail and set.

3rd:Dawson`s Mischran The Sequel For Stubbylee ,just out matured in this class.

Limit Dog :6 A very nice class to judge with several different styles of hounds

1st: Clare`s Donskoi The Mad Hatter At Russmechta , At nearly 3 years this tall mahogany/white really has settled into his frame ,he was so well named, as a puppy he was very naughty and he has matured into a very nice hound .Lovely head and eye, a little more refined than 2nd, he has great depth and body, correct feet ,excellent front and hind co-ordination, he moved soundly and with good drive and reach. Would like a little more topline but he has good style. Well handled.

2nd: Baker, White and White`s Mischran The Witcher, 3 years mahogany/white, a real favourite of mine, at first glance was my winner. Gorgeous head and eye ,very nice hound to go over , in top hard condition he really is my style of Borzoi. Today he was outmoved by the winner, I am sure he will be back on top form soon and gain his title which I feel he does deserve.

3rd: Harveys Astragorn Zeus Glory Of Albaneiler {Imp Aus}

Open Dog :5 {1 Abs} Another quality class.

1st: Odells Ch. Sukeshi Dazzling Dan , 41/2 years white/black, another I have admired from the ringside and he did not disappoint today. Top class hound who is fully mature , super head and dark eye, correct expression, for me he has all the essentials for a large running hound, sound and honest throughout, excellent body, depth and length, great topline which he keeps at all times, strong wide hindquarters with low set hocks, correct tail and carriage .Proper coat and he has that easy , sound and powerful movement with good front reach and drive behind. Pleased to award him the CC and BOB and thrilled to see him shortlisted in the top quality BIS competition.

2nd:Clare`s Donskoi Groza At Russmechta ,4 years white/sable, very handsome half brother to above and not dissimilar in style and type, slightly taller and taken more time to mature but he is in top form and condition giving his best at all times .I very slightly preferred Dazzling Dan`s head but they are difficult to separate and I am sure this is another sure champion.Res CC

3rd: Bridges Jansams The Show Must Go On.

Puppy Bitch :4

1st: Cherriman`s Zinarte Amarula At Cherdonski , 9 months white/lemon, very pretty pup, lovely head and dark eye, good pigmentation, very settled and together on the move for such a youngster, she has great style and looked good standing and moving. Well bodied with correct topline , prefered her overall balance and co -ordinating angles to the dog puppy in the challenge. Best Puppy and very happy to watch her win 3rd Best Puppy In Show, congratulations.

2nd: Smettem Minson`s Chywoon Pillow Talk, 11 months mostly white with light brindle markings. Taller ,less mature bitch who shows a lot of promise. Quite similar in type and style to her litter brother who was 2nd in Puppy dog. Very good head ,dark eyes ,good ears and set. A bit of a handful and still unsettled on the move but she is very well constructed throughout with correct length and balance ,good topline ,tail and set. Will watch these two with interest!

3rd:Clare`s Ryazan Ulyssa

Junior Bitch :3 All three youngsters thought the large ring was a playing field and took a while to settle

1st: Donnelly and Deveraux`s Sukeshi Anna Leopoldovna , 14 months white/red, half sister to my BOB winner, very mature and although a little unsettled at first on the move she is very well constructed throughout with good neck into well laid shoulders, correct layback of upper arm, good bone and feet, good depth and well ribbed back with correct topline. Sound , long well angulated hindquarters with low set hocks. Excellent presentation, the handler definitely got the best out of her. Res CC

2nd: Odell`s Sukeshi Tsarina Alexandra, 14 months white/sable litter sister to above and I liked her a lot. Super head and eye, sound ,easy moving youngster ,she is very similar in conformation to above but not as mature and not in as much coat. Hopefully these two will follow in their half brothers footsteps.

3rd: Baker, White and White`s Mischran Alyana.

Yearling Bitch: 4

1st: Odell`s Sukeshi Tsarina Alexandra ,as above

2nd: Baker,White and White`s Mischran Alyana White/black, tall 18 months bitch who has a very pretty head and dark eye, correct ears and set, not as long cast as above but she is still very immature and needs to fill into her frame. She has a lot to like about her and when she eventually settled on the move she was sound, in excellent hard condition. Well handled as a bit of a handful today.

3rd: Sixsmith`s Mischran Nidami, litter sister to above

Special Beginners Bitch :3

1st: Parson`s Jamarqui Alchemy Annie JW , 5 years , mature white/fawn, a lovely bitch that I have placed well before, I have always liked her and wish that she had been shown more over the years. Classy head and dark eye she won this class with ease but a little less weight would help her topline on the move, well presented.

2nd: Giblett`s Barnesmore Cinderella At Sunnymeadow, 2 years white/fawn ,in hard muscular condition but not the overall balance or quality of winner, front movement could have been better, well bodied, lacked topline.

3rd: Smith`s Chalkville Saskia

Post Graduate Bitch : 4

1st: Odell`s Sukeshi Tsarina Alexandra as before.

2nd: Webb`s Mischran Tissala At Parsax 3 years mahogany/white, pretty head and eye ,slightly shorter coupled than above, good neck with nicely co-ordinated front and hind angulation, good feet. Nice depth of brisket, well ribbed back with good length of body and good overall balance. Long ,well muscled hindquarters. Would like a little more topline, sound throughout. Challenged hard for the Res CC.

2nd: Wheatley`s Takatori Legally Blonde 2 ½ years lemon/white, a lovely bitch that I have always loved from the minute she was born. Very similar in style and type to above and this was my hardest decision today. Feminine throughout with elegant head and dark eye, excellent overall balance and conformation, she has a slightly better topline than winner ,sound front and rear, well bodied in fine muscular condition. These two are very difficult to separate ,just preferred the side movement of above on the final run .I know she will have her day.

3rd:Parson`s Jamarqui Alchemy Annie JW

Open Bitch : 5

1st: Dawson`s Stubbylee Mood Indigo ,4 ½ years white/fawn, not a big bitch but she oozes type and quality and ticks all the boxes for me. Super head and eye, excellent overall proportions, she is so well balanced, feminine throughout, a powerful ,easy ,sound mover who never put a foot wrong. Looked great standing and easily outmoved her classmates, proper coat which is presented to perfection. Her handler really got the best out of her and I was pleased to award the well deserved CC amongst very hot competition and delighted to hear that she had gained her title today. Well done.

2nd: Clare`s Ch. Ryazan Vogue 4 ½ years white/red, one I have placed well before and she has matured well. Taller, different style to above, preferred head and eye of winner ,she is refined throughout with excellent front and hind co-ordination, good feet.
