Thank you to my two excellent stewards who kept everything running efficiently.  It is an honour to be asked to judge, and I thank the exhibitors for allowing me to give my opinion which is always an on the day overview of the dogs presented. I was very happy with the quality of the hounds and some places will most certainly swap around over time.

Junior dog

1. Dukesarum Murphy. 17 month quality young male – upstanding, well boned with balanced outline. Flat ears, otherwise good head proportions. Front angulation OK but needs to drop into forequarters, good topline and underline well ribbed back, well angulated rear, correct line over croup with width across pelvis, well let down hocks, tight feet and excellent coat, stands over a lot of ground, moves very well on a loose lead long reach of stride and good coming and going. Will watch him with interest.

2. Glengail Ccillian  12 month male giving a lot away on age to 1 and consequential development. Well bodied, needs more layback to shoulder and upper arm. Well proportioned head and super small well-set ears, well boned forelegs, slightly narrow although at this age, well ribbed back with deep brisket, moderate angulation behind.

Post Graduate Dog

1. Rainster Euan at Kirkarswell Masculine dog, head length proportions good but a little broad in back skull, preferred his overall balance leg to length ratio, good outline, nicely laid shoulder and upper arm, well filled chest. Bone good, topline and underline flows nicely to balanced well angled rear, well set low hocks. Moving easily round the ring, true coming towards a touch close going away.

2. Killoughery Mission Two for Inkleyboys Another good hound, and I made a note about his muscle and condition which was excellent, not giving much away to 1 above, very shapely outline, would like a touch more length of neck and a little more rise on loin, excellent bone, tight feet, well angled rear quarters, moves a little close behind but covers the ground well with a good length of stride.

3. Conmeryl Joshua Jopp

Limit Dog

1. Caredig Mafioso Male commanding and of great substance, strong head, maybe a touch broad in back skull for me, but good proportions in length, dark eye, excellent bone on him, deep chest with ribs carried well back, fraction forward in topline, great breadth across hind quarters. Good shoulder lay and upper arm well laid back - matched equally with curvy rear and low hocks, he powers round the ring with a long stride and true coming and going, CC.

2. Gaelmarque Nomateus Really liked this male, preferred his more rangy outline. Not the biggest dog, my main criticism is that he can flatten his topline when he stands, yet not when he is on the move which is when he shines. Lovely head, soft expression, well laid shoulder and upper arm, good depth and ribbing carried well back, curvaceous hind quarters, with low set hocks with wide joint. He is a joy to watch him on the move, going freely driving well from his rear, and absolutely true coming and going Res CC.

3. Killoughery Rockafella of Outsight

Open Dog

1. Ch Whiteorchard Arcturus Lovely quality male I much admire, lovely masculine head of good proportions and well furnished, his ears rather flat, strong neck into good shoulder and upper arm placement, deep brisket and well ribbed back, slightly dipping his topline today, well-rounded croup into curvy rear balancing his forehand and a wide pelvis. In the end, he just didn't want to put all into moving against the younger hounds today.

2. Creena Atticus Finch at Dukesarum Upstanding dog he has great ring presence. Balanced angulation, great depth of brisket, good length of leg, underline I would like to see more tuck up, well angulated rear quarters and great width across pelvis, a little untidy up and down today, very good ground covering side profile.

Junior Bitch

1. Glengail Aarcus. Striking my notes say. Smaller than classmates and a bit further on in growth, extremely curvy and well muscled, well developed forechest, good topline and underline into well angulated rear quarters. Small rosed ears, and head of good proportions with no stop, bit of a handful for her handler but powerful active movement.

2. Dukesarum Niamh Two sisters second and third both excellent qualities, and really not much to choose between, this sister today was a little more filled out, she has a lovely head, balanced forehand, good breadth over her pelvis, she just had the edge on her rear angulation today over her sister.

3. Dukesarum Tallulah

Post Graduate Bitch

1. Dukesarum Evie. My notes say four very different bitch types in this class, but this girl caught my eye immediately. Sighthound proportions, head of good length, dark kind eye, good length of neck into good forehand and upperarm laid well back, standing over plenty of ground, nice rise to loin, curvy rear quarters, well muscled. True coming, slightly close behind and side profile rakes over the ground with such ease on a loose lead, seriously looked at her for Res CC.

2. Rainster Eilex among Hunacres – Another lovely bitch of different type, beautiful feminine head of good proportions, strong neck into good shoulder, I’d prefer slightly more lay of upperarm. Deep body and good tuck up, nice rise over loin, broad quarters and well angulated rear, moving close behind today but lovely reach and stride in profile.

3. Killoughery Talia

Limit

1. Gaelmarque Caroline – Smaller bitch, but very balanced in outline, lovely feminine head, dark eye, good length of muzzle, ears rosed and set well, fair shoulder, upper arm could be better laid, good depth and ribbing back, tends to break her topline, nice line over croup and well angulated quarters, very sound mover.

2. Whiteorchard Adhara at Kilmacduagh More substantial and larger framed bitch, well boned, good shoulder and upperarm return, plenty of depth and good ribbing, balanced hindquarters but she really didn’t want to be here today.

Open

1. Ch Gaelmarque Treasured by Goldswift. Her uninterrupted outline strikes you straight away, sighthound shape and lengthy proportions. Feminine head with well held ears, dark eye and good pigment. Nice flow of neck into well laid shoulder and complimentary return of upper arm, good leg length and well boned. Forechest flows through to ideal depth of brisket, well ribbed and good tuck up, loin length just right. Good topline running into correct croup balanced rear with strong broad thighs and well let down hocks. Very easy and sound on the move with effortless stride. CC and BOB. Nice to see her shortlisted in the group.

2. Creena Harper at Dukesarum Quite different for type, big upstanding bitch catching the eye, feminine head, good length of neck, nice shoulder lay, has forechest and reasonable return of upper arm, plenty of depth to ribbing, she is a tad on the long side in body, broad croup and curvy quarters with plenty of width to stifles, well let down hocks and moved out with a steady ground covering stride. Res CC

3. Whiteorchard Aurora

Veteran Bitch

1. Goldswift Leap of Faith. A trio of lovely veterans, very balanced bitch, lovely feminine head, perfect ear size and placement, nicely laid shoulder, slightly forward upper arm. Nicely angulated rear and she moves so very well round the ring with an easy balanced stride.

2. Goldswift Inyourdreams Lovely type and has a look at me presence about her. Gorgeous well proportioned head, well furnished, sweet expression and small well placed ear, nicely made forehand, dipping her topline somewhat, well angulated rear, not as together on the move as 1 above.

3. Kilmacduagh Aednat
