Crufts

Breed: French Bulldog

CRUFTS FRENCH BULLDOGS 7 MARCH 2024

I was thrilled when I learnt that I had a wonderful entry of 222 for my appointment at Crufts. It

was very unfortunate that the elected judge Mr Gordon Drummond could not fulfil his appointment

due to ill health. I remember when I first awarded Challenge Certificates in French Bulldogs, I

awarded Mr and Mrs Drummond’s puppy dog, Luvmee Too at Glenlee, his first dog CC and BOB

also best puppy. His show career ended with 9 CCs, 5 RCCs and a Group 4 win at SKC.

My heartfelt thanks goes to my stewards, Mark and Val Atkinson. It was because of their efficient

organisational skills, I was able to finish judging at 2.55pm.

I noticed that feet, black nails and the pigmentation in Pieds have improved. I found a few with

short necks , one bitch with a protruding tongue when on the table and some good exhibits were

carrying far too much weight and had to pay the price. A few exhibits had light eyes which is a

concern.
