WEIMARANER

Many thanks to the Manchester Dog Show Committee for my judging invitation and for their kind hospitality and to my two efficient stewards who kept the day moving. Thank you to the exhibitors for giving me a great entry in both quality and numbers. I was pleased with the overall quality of my entry with some exciting up and coming puppies which bodes well for the future of the breed.

Some very promising puppies in this super class. My first place at just six months presented a balanced outline with correct height to length ratio. Pleasing in head with adequate stop with desired long and lobular ears. Very sound front assembly and he has correct rear angulation and doesn’t need to be overstretched. He was confident and moved out so well on a steady and true stride. One to watch for the future.

Another very promising puppy with correct head proportions, good round eye shape and moderate stop. Strong and clean through neck and already has good depth of chest, well sprung ribs and has moderate tuck up. Hindquarters strong with good bend of stifle and strong hocks, not as tidy in front movement as my winner today.

Shown in excellent condition and has an attractive silver jacket. BPD

A very pleasing youngster with a very attractive head, intelligent expression with correct amount of stop. Good straight front, correct neck length with well laid shoulders and flows through topline. He presents a well balanced outline when stacked with good bend of stifle. Needs to fill out in body, not as well developed as my winner. He moved soundly and true with correct tail carriage.

1st: Charlish’s GUNALT THE HANGOVER

This thirteen month young boy stood out in this class for his overall balance and super outline with correct height to length ratio. He has a masculine head, correct earset and pleasing expression. Very well made front assembly and matching rear angles and stands on strong hocks. He moved smoothly with a sturdy rear driving action and has a super partnership with his handler. I considered him for the Res CC but he just needs that maturity in body to complete the picture, a top quality youngster.

2nd: Creighton & Taggart’s GUNALT INSIDER

Another pleasing youngster, liked his head proportions and intelligent expression. Correct shoulder lay and chest down to elbow. He was slightly shorter in body length than my winner, has firm loin and correct angulated stifles. A steady mover and carried his topline well.

I will keep an eye on this one and I’m sure she will fulfil her early promise BPIB

What a super shape this young lady is. Very feminine in head with correct proportions, kind round eye and mischievous expression. Excellent angulation both fore and aft and so well balanced already in profile. A steady sound mover, her first time out and she just needs to gain ring confidence and lift her tail, another very promising puppy from this successful kennel.

1st: Hesford & Campbell’s SH CH PIPWELL PENNY LANE

This bitch presents such a well proportioned outline with super angulation both fore and aft, and demands attention when stacked. She has good depth of chest with a level topline Attractive in head, ears of good length, with a most kind expression. Stood alone today but would win well in good company, considered her in the challenge just not as collected on the move.

1st: Morris & Randall’s KALIMOR DOTTIE JW

This lovely bitch headed a top quality class. Super head with an aristocratic air about her. Excellent front assembly with elbows tight in, good depth of chest, correct back length and moderate rear angulation. She is of such good type as expected from this successful kennel, nothing exaggerated and of very sound construction throughout. I thought she would be a strong contender for the CC, I was disappointed she could not retain her topline in the challenge.

2nd: Stafford’s RIVERTONE UNDER MY SKIN FARNFIELD

Another quality bitch built on a heavier frame than the winner, but she is clean and feminine throughout and attracts in outline. Correct head of moderate length, good straight front, with correct return of upperarm. Her rear angulation completes the picture to give balance when stacked. Moved on a steady gait with a level topline.

3rd: Sayer & Wallwork’s BRAEFELL BUMBLEBEE

OB (13 Entries) Abs: 3

A top quality class, which required a shortlist to take a second look as splitting hairs here for my placings.

1st: Maskell & Rayner’s ENJAGER HARMONY WITH BROWNBANK JW

A bitch you need to get your hands on to fully appreciate her virtues. Really liked her head, aristocratic with good length and has enough stop. She flows through her neck and topline, has good depth to brisket and well ribbed back. Hindquarters have correct angulation with width to second thigh. She is so elegant yet has enough substance and is firmly made throughout. On the move she was a delight to watch as she covered the ground with an effortless stride. Shown with excellent muscle tone and in great condition. Please to award her the CC.

2nd: Radford’s SCHONHUND SHOWMOJO JW

What an elegant nine year old bitch with a beautiful head and expression, correct long ears with slight fold. Best of fronts and shoulders and well angulated rear quarters with correct body length and she has a lovely silver coat. Delightful to see she is still full of mischief and thoroughly enjoying her day in the ring. Not as strong on her rear quarters as my winner but sailed round the ring on a good stride.

SBB (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: Rockstro’s, SILVERMEWS CELINKA

Placed third in the Post-Grad class. A robust well constructed bitch, well off for bone and substance and very workmanlike. Good head proportions, strong through neck and solid body with good topline. Has a lovely silver jacket and moved out soundly drive.

2nd: Morgan’s U'TARA EDELWEIMS DE LA CLAREE PARHELIS (IMP FRA)

A very raw baby who needs time to fill her frame. She is pleasing in head with correct earset, kind eye and a very playful air about her. At the moment she is loose in pasterns which made her front movement untidy. Lots of time on her side.
