Scottish Utility Breeds Club

Breed: Kooikerhondje

Scottish Utility Breeds Club Championship show Held at Springwood Park Kelso on the 13th July 2024

A very warm welcome awaited my arrival, unlike the weather which was undecided and overcast. I thoroughly enjoyed my day with your most precious companions.

Unfortunately, the very first set of Challenge Certificates were being awarded on the same day. Congratulations to the club.

Kooikerhonje PGD 1. Caldwell – Crunchcroft Razzle-Dazzle at Taighmuilne – This mature boy was in super condition perhaps a little taller than standard but in very good balance. Friendly and outgoing with a lovely temperament.

His skull to muzzle had almost equal lengths with enough stop deep brown almond-shaped eyes and strong jaws. His neck was of moderate length and muscled. His shoulders were laid well matching his hind angulation. Nicely filled chest with well-sprung ribs. His coat was in lovely condition with good feathering throughout finishing with ringlets and black points. BD RBoB

LD 1. Caldwell – Crunchcroft Razzle-Dazzle at Taighmuilne

OD. 1. Brook – Papikoi Time Out – Enough height to length. With an appealing masculine head and dark eyes. Nicely filled chest and well rib back. On the move, he didn’t hold his topline line as well. He is a veteran after all. RBD

VD. 1. Brook – Papikoi Time Out PGB. 1. Caldwell – Valkira Secret Love at Taighmuilne – Lovely sized girl with a super feminine expression from dark almond-shaped eyes, good pigmentation to eyes lips, and nose with complete head. Pleasing fill to the chest and nicely ribbed back. Her tail was an extension of her spine which had ample feathering. On the move, her topline line could have been firmer. RBB 2. Greig – Valkira My Happiness at Kildonan – Not the confident outgoing girl her litter sister is. She was smaller in size although. Her topline was a little firmer and had a decent depth of ribbing. On the move, she was a little erratic.

LB 1. Dunford Millhanger Victoria Plum – This young lady was delightful. She gave a super outline where everything fits together and flows. She has an ultra-feminine head with the darkest of almond eyes giving a friendly alert expression. Pleasing front assembly with a good return of upper arm and straight legs to small compact feet. She moved without effort free and springy with a driving action. She was my take-home girl. BB BoB. Judge Janet Kay
