Thank you to my very capable steward Lesley Cooper who coped well with the weather. All classes where mixed sex which was then disappointing to be instructed by an official of Boarder Union to only award Best of Breed and not the green cards in both sex’s I had in my judge’s wallet.

Basset Griffon Vendeen (Petit) P.1. Maudaxi Billy Bookcase (Mr P & Mrs D Reid) – D - A very exciting puppy at 8 months he is developing well. Slight dome to skull with enough occipital bone, dark eyes and ear set below eyeline with agreeable fold inwards. Ample length of neck into well laid shoulders. His chest and sternum are filling out nicely with a moderate spring of rib reaching well back. Strong hind angulation topped with a proudly carried tail. On the move he was free and easy. BP

Jr.1. Erylan Poseidon De La Mer JW (Mr T & Mrs D Bartley) – D - Pleasing head and dark oval eye well pigmented, scissor bite and correctly set ears of fine texture. Nicely laid shoulders with strong boned forelegs. Ribs moderately rounded and reaching well back. His rear angulation matched his fore which gave him a true easy stride. His coat was harsh and thick.

PG. 1. Maudaxi Joanie Loves Chacha (Mr P & Mrs D Reid) – B – This young lady was giving her handler a run for their money so true to breed type, happy extrovert. She is balanced and compact in height to length proportions. Her appealing dark eye feminine with a hint of mischief. She had a good underjaw with a scissor bite, muscular neck into shoulders, straight fore legs with spring at pastern and strong tightly padded feet. Her chest was nicely filled with clear sternum and sprung ribs, muscular loin, high set tail of medium length well furnished with hair carried proudly full of attitude on the move with a reaching free stride. 2. Callydena Rachecco (Mr S A & Mrs L M Wyllie) B – slightly taller although in proportion appealing head and dark oval shaped eye, ample length of neck with nicely filled chest and rounded ribs to short muscular loin. Her topline didn’t seem as firm on the move. She carried her head and tail proudly. 3. Ballencrieff Figgy Pudding (Mrs S & Mrs C Allen & Gilluley)

O. 1. Ch Soletrader Fun Times for Rangali JW (Mr R & Mrs H Allenby) B – I first saw this girl at a club show where she took my eye straight away and today was my opportunity to go over her, I was not disappointed. She is so feminine and breed typical with her Independent happy attitude. She gave a good silhouette of balance and strength. Her head of correct proportions, her skull shape with dome and slightly shorter in muzzle, strength of jaw with scissor bite, her muzzle finished with a black nose. Good length of neck, sound clean angulation to her shoulders. Her topline was strong and muscular, combined with a full chest and moderately rounded ribs extending well back to slightly arching loin. Her hind angulation matched her fore which gave her reach and drive. To finish she had a super coat that was harsh and thick. She was really on her toes today. BoB. I watched her in the Hound group where she was still on her toes to made the short list. 2. Ch Soletrader Missy Elliott JW (Miss C L & Mrs E Cooper & Cadmore) B – This slightly older young lady could easily take this class as I was only splitting hairs between them. She was so feminine, compact, with balance and strength. Her head as required had enough dome and occiput nicely developed, low set ears folding inwards of fine texture. Appropriate length of neck into nicely fitting shoulders and close elbows, suitably rounded ribs. Her firm topline and muscular loin. Her tail set was high and carried proudly, sabre fashion of medium length, well covered in harsh rough coat. On the move she was free and positive with good drive. A very worthy Champion. 3. Fox's Nightmare Lara Fabian at Maudaxi (Imp Rus) (Mr P & Mrs D Reid)

Veteran – 1. Erylan Loki Maitre Du Mal (Mr T & Mrs D Bartley) D – A strongly build male with ample bone and substance. Appealing masculine head dark oval shaped eye, ears set low but could be a little fine. Good neck and shoulders, comfortably ribbed with prominent sternum. He is in fit muscle condition. Strong hindquarters. Moved soundly. BV. 2. Ir Ch Clonallan Just Beginning avec Erylan ShCM Ir Vch VW (Mr R, Mrs G & Miss E Foote & Mcaulay) B- This young lady belied her 11yrs. She is a credit to her owners keeping her in such good condition. From her clean head with dome and prominent occipital bone, bright large dark eyes oval in shape, muscular neck and shoulders, well filled chest with clear sternum, enough shape to ribs, firm topline, she was strong and free on the move. Slightly bigger in shape but still well balanced. 3. Caldewriver Legally Blonde of Ballencrieff (Mr M & Mrs C Gilluley)
