I would like to thank the National Terrier for the honour of judging and the exhibitors for giving me the privilege to judge their dogs.

I found the dogs to be a bit of a mixed bag and had to be a bit forgiving in some cases but was pleased with my overall placings. Bitches I found to be a lot more even both in size and quality and was more than happy with my line up for size and type compared to the dogs who where a bit up and down. Temperaments good, mouths in general good.

Special Beginners Dog or Bitch

1st Entwistle Mrs H Holtaire Runa nice for type and size who has a pleasing feminine head & dark eye, decent neck leading into a pleasing topline and tail set. Enough depth to chest good markings with steady movement.

2nd Phelps Mrs Rooksblack Liquorice Twist raw puppy who still needs to body up and mature. He has a pleasing eye but ears need to settle. He has a pleasing topline and lovely temperament so full of himself which made it difficult to assess his movement . Needs more ring craft

Veteran Dog or Bitch

1st Spain Mrs A & Spain Mr L CH Talanors Diamond Tornado Male of nice type and a worthy champion a credit to his owners and breeders. He was put out in great condition. He is good for size and overall well balanced decent head with good ears and dark eye. Front and rear angulation was good moved out well coming and going holding his topline good side gait a little proud of his tail. 

2nd Olbinson Miss L Rattustrap Citra at Carapast Bitch also of nice type who was unlucky to meet 1 she has a feminine head with pleasing dark eye ears a bit flighty today. She has a pleasing body shape topline and tailset which held well on the move and she has pleasing angulation front and rear moved out well just a little untidy coming forward. Tended to tuck up when stood.

Two nice pups litter brothers winner just had the edge

1st Walker Mrs J Wystry Depths of Glory for Sizlin more compact than 2 who has a lovely head dark eye and ear set. He is so well put together well balanced good for bone and lovely for size. His angulation is good not exaggerated in anyway with legs well set under. He holds himself well on the move with decent tail set good movement fore and aft. BP & RCC

2nd Brown Mr G & Davies Ms M Wystry Agony and Ecstasy as you would expect due to being litter brothers similar in type but larger in size and not as compact however he has a lovely masculine head with dark eye pleasing front angulation would prefer a little more rear angulation. Movement was good once he settled both should do well and no doubt change places.

1st Brown Mr G & Davies Ms M Wystry Agony and Ecstasy 2nd in Puppy

2nd Williams-Wegmann Mrs V F D & Wegmann Mr H Talanors Typically Trouble for Essvanna He has a pleasing head with very dark eye. Would like to see more leg length to see a more balanced outline. He has good depth and topline with nicely set tail. Looked a little overalled with his surroundings today which was reflected in his movement.

1st Brown Mr G & Davies Ms M Wystry Agony and Ecstasy 2nd in puppy 1st in Junior 

2nd Swart Miss C Plantocracy Dapper Dexter Good for size with good markings his head didn’t have the filling of one and was lighter in eye colour. His rear angulation was good with decent tail set. Needs to settle in movement.

Limit Dog

1st Brown Mr G & Davies Ms M Wystry Dempsey’s Tipple JW stood alone but a worthy winner nice for size with masculine head and dark eye ears good but needs to use them to advantage. He has a decent neck leading into good topline and tailset which carried well on the move. His angulation front and rear is good. Movement was a little unsettled wanting to race around the ring which affected his front movement rear movement good.

Open Dog

1st Oxley Mr M & Oxley Mrs G M & Oxley Miss S R CH Digelsa Double Agent Bigger than I would normally like and not putting in an 100% today but he is so well balanced for his size and is in proportion he has an excellent head eye & ear set which draws you in masculine but not course. His neck is well set on leading into a pleasing topline he has a deep chest and he has decent angulation. Movement was good coming and going and held his shape well on the move. Pleased to award him the dog CC

2nd Plant Mrs L Plantocracy Bold Bruce JW. Smaller than one but good for size. He has a deep chest perhaps a little to much for a terrier which made him look a little unbalanced when stood as he tended to tuck up and needed to be stretched out a little more however a lot to like he has a pleasing head and eye decent front and rear angulation topline and tailset good and moved out well.

3rd O’Neill Mrs B Magellan CH Artemis Argentis

1st Watkins Mrs T Rooksblack Madam Mim Nice confident puppy pretty feminine head with dark eye and good ear set. She has enough depth and decent angulation enough bone for size well marked hope she grows on.

Junior Bitch

Difficult class to judge as both had different virtues and no doubt will change places deciding factor rear movement 

1st Cawley Miss B & Stockton Mr S Magpiebank Breeze for Marlblue Nice for size and type with pretty feminine head and dark eye lean neck leading into nicely placed shoulders good topline and tail well set on holding well on the move. Pleasing angulation not overdone nice markings front movement could be a little tidier good rear movement.

2nd Jones Mrs J Erkenwyne Firefly another who was nice for size and heavier all through than one with decent bone. Head a little heavy in skull for me. She has good front and rear angulation pleasing depth to chest and good topline and tailset. A little long in back needs to come up a little on leg for a more balanced picture. Front movement okay a little hockey on the rear which needs to strengthen. 

Post Graduate Bitch

1st Plant Mrs L Spring Wren at Plantocracy Pretty and feminine with a curvaceous body and nice for size. She has a pleasing head and dark eye Lean neck leading into a good topline and tailset she has pleasing front and rear angulation and good depth she has decent movement coming and going she has good markings. RCC

2nd Entwistle Mrs H Holtaire Runa 1st in Sp Beg.

Limit Bitch

1st Boot Mr & Mrs C & D Ysabelkid Calamity Jane with Harliboo Another pleasing girl although I would like there to be a little more of her all over she is well balanced and in proportion for her size she has a feminine head with good eye and expression. Her topline is good with well set tail which she carries well on the move. She has decent angulation. Movement was good on the rear but could be more positive on the front movement.

2nd Sharpe Mrs V & Miss L Rosettia Keepsake over all bigger than one. She is in proportion for her size but would prefer her to be more feminine but saying this she has a decent head and eye ears well carried. She has a good topline and tail carriage. When looking from the front a little to much daylight for me and would prefer her legs to be more set under. She has good rear angulation which she put to good use but front movement could be more positive.

3rd Spain Mrs A & Spain Mr L Neapolitan You Are My Sunshine

Open Bitch 

1st Knight Mrs G & Knight Mr C CH Talanors Typically Special and how special is she one I have admired from outside of the ring and for me the star of the day from the tip of her nose to the tip of her tail she is beautiful loved her size and overall make and shape so well balanced and a credit to her breeders/owners I wish I Owned her. She has a feminine head and pleasing eye, lean neck leading into a curvaceous body good topline and well set tail which carries well on the move. Her legs are well set under with elbows well tucked she has good depth and has good angulation front and rear. Movement was good coming and going pleased to award her CC and BOB.

2nd O’Neill Mrs B Magicus Silvestris Sweet Bonnie Different in size and type who is still feminine and has pleasing head with medium eye colour and well set ears she has decent front and rear angulation and curvy body with good topline leading into good tailset when stood however her topline tended to rise on her rear on the move which distracted from her overall shape. She has good depth legs well set on and well coming and going.
