Belfast Dog Show Society

Breed: West Highland White Terrier

I would like to thank the secretary and committee of Belfast Dog Show Society for giving me the opportunity to award my first set of CC’s here at home. To all the exhibitors who travelled to Belfast, thank you, I appreciated your time and effort given to make the trip.

Although number of exhibits on the ground were few, they represented depth of quality in the breed. Pleased to report that I encountered no health issue in any of the exhibits ie skin or misplaced canine teeth. Overall, teeth are bigger than when I last judged.

Junior Dog (1)

Breun Miss Cathy

1st Zackshine Sinner In Silk: Just nine months old and still very much a puppy. Well portioned head with broad skull, deep stop, dark eye and a nice ear placement. Good size of teeth with strong jaw. Adequate reach of neck running into clean shoulders, could have a slightly better layback. Good bone, toeing out slightly but this may be just an age-related issue. Well, ribbed with strong rear and nice tail set. He just did not settle on the move, a wilful boy, I am sure his time will come. Best puppy dog

Open dog (2 : 1)

Zaccariello Mr F

1st It Ch Zackshine High Technology: standing alone but what a masculine male nothing over done. Strong broad skull but not course in any way with good stop, fill beneath eyes, strong broad jaw, large teeth, dark piercing eyes, picture completed with neat ears and gentle flowing arched neck, clean well laid shoulder. Presented in excellent coat and condition. This boy has great bone, well ribbed and short coupled. Strong level topline with excellent tail set and plenty behind the tail. Muscular hindquarters that propelled him round the ring with such free movement. A very nicely balanced male. DCC and BOB. Delighted to watch him take 2nd place in the terrier group

Puppy Bitch (3:3)

Lovely class of three youngsters

Fryer Mrs S

1st Hopecharm Bright Angel: What a bright button. Feminine head and expression with correct scissor bite and large teeth. Clean shoulder with free movement holding top-line on the move with good tail set. Well balanced young lady. Will watch with interest as she matures. BPB, BPIB and delighted to watch her take RBIP terrier group.

Mrs S Thompson

2nd Ashgate Kelso: Another interesting puppy. A different head from 1 but still a pleasing expression, clean shoulder with good spring of rib, firm topline, good tail set and moved well. Not the coat of 1.

Miss C Crozier

3rd Dalskairth Kirkcolm Cutie: Another nice puppy. Everything in the right place, her time will come. Nice head and expression, clean shoulder, good tailset. Moved well

Graduate Bitch

Mrs S Thompson

1st Hillcloud Echowave by Ashgate: Feminine young lady with a nice head, dark eye and good infill below the eye giving that varminty expression. Well laid shoulders, level top line with tail on top. Moved with drive.

Limit bitch(3:3)

Mrs S Fryer

1st Gin and Tonic Sunshine Celebration: lovely head of the right proportions, highlighted by the darkest of eye and pigment. Nice arch to neck running into clean well laid shoulders. Good bone with depth of rib, muscled loin and well angulated rear. Moved with ease.

Miss C Crozier

2nd Dalskairth Glamis Girl: I have watched this girl and was not disappointed going over her. Pleasing head and expression and used her ear well on alert. Shoulder placement is fine, level topline, tail on top moves well. A little more attention to coat will lift this girl up a level. Her time will come

 Mrs P Chambers

3rd Circinus Dreaming All Day: this girl doesn’t disappoint with what is under the coat everything is there. Just be careful when trimming head that you don’t lose the varmity expression creating a rabbit in the head light expression.

Open Bitch (7:3)

What a nice class to finish the day with.

Mrs M Kanasova

1st Poppy Cake Sunshine Celebration: What a lovely girl, bone and substance yet retaining femininity. Presented in the hardest of coat of correct length and texture. Lovely head with good infill under the eye, darkest of pigment completing her fabulous expression, nice reach of neck, good in front and shoulder placement reaching into a well ribbed body with strong loin. Level topline with a lovely tailset and plenty behind the tail. Effortless reach and drive. Delighted to award this girl BCC.

Mrs C Smith

2nd Ch Lingbeck Hold The Dream: Hasn’t she lived up to her name. Another girl I have watched maturing from ring side. Very unfortunate to meet 1 today. Presented to perfection in a lovely coat, nice strong head, reach of neck with clean well laid shoulders, level topline, tail of good length and set with plenty behind the tail. Moved as one with her handler. Delighted to award her RBCC

Ms K Belousova

3rd Zackshine Dalia: I saw this girl as a puppy at this show last year. Delighted to see how she has matured. Good head, mouth, and dark eye. Front with forechest and clean shoulders, level topline, tail bang on top with bum behind. Her coat needs attention to complete the picture. I will watch this girl with great interest.

Miss C Breun

4th IrCh Zackshine Glenrosa: Smaller finer in type than the other three, good head with strength for her stature. Nice shoulder level topline and tailset. Dog and handler could move with a little more purpose.
