Judge – Mrs Jane Eyeington (Meadowdale)

I would like to thank the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge this super breed. I was delighted to have the opportunity to judge your lovely dogs, so thank you. The conditions on the day were rather chilly and windy, which made no difference whatsoever to the dogs who didn’t bat an eyelid at the flapping tents and ring tape. All had lovely temperaments and were a pleasure to judge.

Class 631. Junior Dog - Entries: 2 Absentees: 1

1st Place 1933 - Seasara Iceman (Mrs T & Mr P Jolley)

Full of beans 13 month old dog, loved his zest for life and personality. Promising youngster with plenty of substance and bone. His outline shows to be cobby and square. Pleasing head, masculine and wedge shaped. Showing good proportions, with an oval dark eye, dark mask and ears all giving a kind expression. Strong clean neck, flowing into a well held topline. Deep in brisket and with a good spring to the ribcage, and short in loin. Clean and true in his rear movement, just needing to settle a little more in front.- BJ.

1st Place 1927 - Bowerhinton Boromir of Vennlig (Mrs C & Mr A Friend)

Sturdy 2 year old dog, who presents a compact outline when stood. Keen and alert to his handler Nicely balance head, wedge shaped, with good ratio of back skull to foreface with parallel planes. Well placed ears with good width between, and a dark almond eye giving a gentle expression. Decent length of neck and a firm well held topline. Moderate in his angulation fore and aft. Deep in brisket and ribs well sprung. Moving out soundly, not quite as tidy behind today. Presented with a good double coat of good texture.

2nd Place 1930 - Laakso Look Who's at Grasilva (ai) (Miss B C Gray)

18 month old, compact young dog with a good length of leg, just needing to finish filling his frame to complete the picture. Masculine head, slightly arched back skull, well defined stop, with tapering strength to the foreface. Lovely dark eyes and keen expression, ears a little larger and closer together. Good reach of neck, enough depth to the brisket. Standing on well boned limbs, would prefer slightly tighter feet. Strong hindquarters, with a good width of thigh. Covering the ground on the move

1st Place 1931 - Ch Bowerhinton Bassanio (Mrs T Maun)

Very smart, proud, and workmanlike 4 year old dog, with a mature and impressive outline. Thought him to have strength all through, very masculine and showing balance. Handsome head, showing a nice wedge shape, with good width to the backskull, and parallel planes with a foreface of good length. His dark oval shaped eyes giving a gentle expression. Strong neck of good length, deep in brisket and standing on well boned limbs with neat oval feet. Very well developed through the body with a good spring to the rib cage, a fraction longer in loin, holding a firm topline and an underline with little tuck up. Well set on and carried tail. Moderate but muscular hindquarters which he used to show effortless side action to cover the ground whilst holding his outline. Presented with an abundant and dense coat. – BD & BOS
