Judge – Mrs Jane Eyeington (Meadowdale)

I would like to thank the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge this super breed. A breed I have come to admire over the years, and I was delighted to have the opportunity to judge your lovely dogs, so thank you. The conditions on the day were rather chilly and windy, which made the dogs a little unsettled at times.

Class 893. Special Beginners - Entries: 3 Absentees: 0

1st Place 2756 - Csulli's Dawn Breaker (Ms J Wolf)

13 month old dark grey bitch, smaller in stature but very balanced in outline, giving the square profile. Loved her fun loving and lively nature which shone through. Well proportioned head, with a good length to the foreface, dark oval eyes with a keen expression. Deep in brisket and holding a firm topline. Moderate in her angulation fore and aft. Clean and tidy on the move, whilst holding her outline with a good head and tail carriage. Shown with a good coat – Best SB

2nd Place 2751 - Blacktide Another Angel (Mrs Judi Dewsall)

White bitch, 12 months old. Liked her overall shape and balance when stood as she has the desired square outline. Pleasing head, with a good width to the back skull, and length to the foreface. Dark inquisitive eyes giving an alert expression. Enough depth and ribbing. Moderate angulation. Needs to settle on the move, not showing herself off to advantage.

1st Place 2746 - Bellpins Zigazigah at Yolstek (Mrs Y & Mr S Kirkwood)

Fell for this 8 month old white dog. So naughty but so nice! Giving his handler a bit of a hard time with his puppy antics, being so full of confidence and personality. He has a lovely shapely silhouette when stood, showing off his square outline which has a pleasing flow from nose to tail. Well balanced and masculine head, of good length and little stop. Dark oval eyes, and super dark pigmentation, well placed ears with the top third tipped forward. Clean neck of good length, into high withers and firm topline. Chest down to the elbow, with the right amount to spring to the ribcage. Rear angulation is moderate with well let down hocks. When he puts his mind to the job, he has a light and positive footfall. Presented in a coat of good curl. RBD & BPIB

1st Place 2740 - Csulli Come On Teddy at Kanetia (Miss D Giles)

3 year old grey dog, who was providing his handler with a bit of a challenge. A slightly longer cast dog overall. Stronger masculine head, with a dark oval eye, and typical ears. Short strong neck, lovely depth to the brisket and well boned limbs. Not settled, so losing his topline a little when stood. Moderate rear angulation, and being short hock to heel. Unsettled on the move, carrying his tail down today.

Class 897. Open Dog - Entries: 2 Absentees: 0

1st Place 2749 - Breezelyn Ear Sumut Special (Mrs J & Mrs A Pike & Carter)

5 year old dark grey dog, who shows himself off with confidence and style. Presenting such a pleasing outline on the stack. Giving a picture of unexaggerated symmetry. He is a sturdy and square dog with good overall balance. Masculine head, narrow and of good length, lovely dark mischievous eyes giving a keen and alert expression. Typical ears, which are well placed and top third tipping over, nicely funished in coat and used like radars! Strong medium length of neck flowing into his high withers and firm topline. Brisket is deep with the right amount of spring to the ribcage. Short strong loin leading to his moderate hindquarters, with a good width of thigh and lovely short from hock to heel. Presented in a good coat, and in firm muscular condition. Moving with accuracy, style, and vigour, with a high head and tail carriage – BD & BOB

2nd Place 2747 - Schnaubern Draco Star at Yolstek (Mrs Y & Mr S Kirkwood)

Another very pleasing 2 year old grey dog, with much to admire, of a different stamp to winner, as he has a little more range to his outline, but still showing the correct squareness when stood. Just loved his head piece, so well balanced, with a good length to the foreface, well placed and used ears and lovely dark eye and pigmentation. Well developed through the body, with a good topline, deep brisket and nicely boned limbs onto neat feet. Moderate hindquarters with good muscle tone. Presented with a correct shaggy and dense coat. Today losing out to his kennel mate as he didn’t settle on the move, but very much in the mix for top honours.

Class 898. Veteran - Entries: 1 Absentees: 0

1st Place 2742 - Cuidado Xtra Xplorer at Kanetia (Imp Hun) (Miss D Giles)

8 year old grey dog, who is of a nice overall size and presents a square outline when stood. Masculine head, a little broader in back skull, lovely dark expressive eyes and pigmentation and using his ears well. Strong neck, flowing nicely into his high withers and a firm topline. Has a little more spring to the ribcage, which is down to the elbow. Hindquarters are moderate with low set hocks. Moving a little close behind, but holding his shape on the move in profile. Shown in good coat showing the correct wave and curl – BVD & BVIB

Class 899. Puppy Bitch - Entries: 3 Absentees: 1

1st Place 2735 - Bellpins Love Sensation (Mr C & Mr M Briggs & Elliott)

Very smart 8 month old grey bitch, who has a lovely outline when stood, she is square, shapely and harmonious in her proportions. Liked her size, balance, and femininity. She has an appealing head, with a good length to the foreface, well placed mobile ears and lovely dark expressive eyes. Good length of neck and high withers, enough depth for her age. Ribs show the right amount of spring and are carried well back to a short loin. Moderate in her hindquarters with low set hocks. Unfortunately got a little distracted on the move and tended to lose her topline today, but showed a light action.

2nd Place 2743 - Bellpins Rhythm Is A Dancer (Miss C Godfrey)

Litter sister to winner, white bitch who has a fraction more length at present, so not quite the overall balance, or maturing as yet. Feminine head, which shows good proportions, lovely eye shape and colour. Correct ears, which are well placed and top third tipping over. Good length of neck, still needing to develop in brisket, but she has plenty of time on her side. Moderate rear end with a well set on and carried tail. Again not settling on the move, but time will be her friend.

Class 900. Junior Bitch - Entries: 4 Absentees: 2

1st Place 2755 - Csulli Lemonade Kisses (Mrs K E Wesson)

Much to like on this 13 month old white bitch. She has a pleasing square outline, sturdy with the moderately fine bone. Feminine and balanced head, with a good length to the foreface, very slight stop, and right amount of width to the back skull. Well placed ears, set on high with top third tipping over well covered with coat. Keen expression from her dark oval eyes. Good length of neck, leading to her prominent withers and firm level topline. Chest is well let down, with the right amount of spring. Presented in a crisp coat of curls with a good undercoat. Moving out cleanly both fore and aft, just tending to lose her topline fractionally at times today. One I considered for top honours.

2nd Place 2756 - Csulli's Dawn Breaker (Ms J Wolf)

Repeat 1st special beginners.

Class 901. Post Graduate Bitch - Entries: 4 Absentees: 2

1st Place 2745 - Breezelyn Ears A Top Tip at Alepenkye (Mrs A Johns)

Smart 4 year old dark grey bitch, who has a balanced and square profile when stacked. Liked her overall size, body proportions and sturdiness, whilst retaining her femininity. Nicely balanced head, long and with good ratios, dark inquisitive eyes, and well placed and used ears. Moderate neck into high withers and holding a firm topline. Well developed brisket which is down to the elbow, nice amount of spring to the ribs which are carried well back to a strong loin. Moderate hindquarters and low set hocks. Shows a lovely profile movement with a good head and tail carriage, her lively demeanour made her a little unsettled in her out and back action today.

2nd Place 2750 - Heathbank Dorcia (Mrs A J Roberts)

Light grey bitch coming up 2 years of age. Of a different stamp to winner being a little taller in stature, but still square and very balanced. Pleasing feminine head, long with a good length to the foreface, dark expressive eyes. Good length of neck, correct high withers and a firm topline. Chest is well let down. Would like a little more rear angulation to complete the picture. Presented in a good coat and moving out with a light and brisk stride.

Class 902. Open Bitch - Entries: 4 Absentees: 0

Nice class of bitches

1st Place 2754 - Csulli Christmas Candy (Mrs K E Wesson)

4 year old dark grey bitch, who showed herself off with confidence and style, both standing and on the move. She stands foursquare and has lovely body proportions, giving her a square outline, with a sturdy and workmanlike appearance. Well balanced head piece, of good length, very slight stop, dark eye and pigmentation and well placed and used ears, which have the desired 1/3 drop. Clean neck of good length, to her high withers and level topline. Well developed through the body to a high set tail. Rear angulation is moderate, but would like a fraction more bend of stifle, lovely low set hocks. Presented in good coat. Smart and tidy on the move BB & BOS

2nd Place 2736 - Heathbank Paliki at Bellpins (Mr C & Mr M Briggs & Elliott)

Eye catching bitch who is full of quality, coming up 2 years of age. Thought she looked lovely on the stack, being of a nice size, square and very feminine. Liked her long head, showing a good length to the foreface with minimal stop. Dark oval eyes, and well placed ears give a keen and alert expression. Right amount of neck, to her pronounced withers and firm topline. Complimentary angles both ends giving lovely balance. Such a shame that she seemed really unsettled on the move. RBB

3rd Place 2744 - Breezelyn Ears A Breakthrou for Alepenkye (Mrs A Johns)

Reserve (4th Place) 2741 - Csulli Winter Solstice Moon at Kanetia (Miss D Giles)
