Judge – Mrs Jane Eyeington (Meadowdale)

I would like to thank the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge Irish Terriers for the first time with CC’s. A huge thank you to all the exhibitors for the pleasure of your lovely dogs, it was a true honour.

Class 2419 PD (3 Entries) Abs: 0 What a start to the day, a super class of youngsters.

1st: 6109 RICHARDS, Mr Tony Lodgecroft Singing Master

At only 9 months old this lad presents a beautiful silhouette, upstanding, striking and proud in his demeanour with the right amount of substance and bone, combined with masculine grace, all giving the racy outline required. Lovely long quality head piece, with well placed ears, dark eyes with an intelligent but mischievous expression. Good length of neck, straight front, with a flow to his topline to a well set on and carried tail. Good depth to the chest with ribs which are carried well back. Moderate rear angulation, and short hock to heel. A pleasure to watch on the move, so true and parallel behind and clean in his front action, holding his outline in profile. Presented to perfection with a lovely harsh jacket. Pleased to award him the DCC & BOB, & BP – his 3rd CC I understand

2nd: 6112 COOKE, Mrs Angela / Montelle Flash Light To Lionwood

11 months old, and another cracking young dog, with much to commend him. Thought he had a lovely outline, so breed typical, racy yet with substance and a full of mischief attitude. Masculine head, with a good length to the foreface, long and lean, with a flat skull and well placed ears, and his dark eyes always plotting some shenanigans! Good reach of neck, with the brisket well let down, right amount of forechest with a straight front and tight feet. Firm in his topline, with ribs carried well back. Moderate in his hindquarters, not quite the width of thigh of winner. Moving out well in all directions. Shown in a good harsh jacket - RDCC

Class 2420 JD NO ENTRIES

Class 2421 PGD (4 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 6129 SIMONS, Ms Joy Brucephela Quito Berry

Pleasing overall shape to this 20 month old dog, he shows to have good body proportions. Masculine head, flat skull, with a good ear carriage, and dark expressive eyes. Good length of neck, to a firm topline, still needing to finish dropping into himself a little more. Strong and muscular hindquarters. Presented a pleasing picture on the move in profile, a little untidy behind today.

2nd: 6111 CHILVERS, Mrs Caroline Apispolb Bumble

Liked the overall shape and size of this 2 year old dog, working well with his handler. His head is masculine a fraction broader, but with good length, with a keen dark eye. Clean neck of good length, straight front, enough depth to the brisket but today tending to lose his topline a little. Moderate hindquarters and low set hocks. Moving parallel behind a little unsettled in front. Beautifully presented in lovely condition and a harsh jacket

3rd: 6122 LIGHTBOWN, Mr Graham Neil Cluaindearg Wolftrap

Class 2422 LD (2 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 6123 LOVELACE, Mrs Marion Rose Dearg Morris At Brazan Ay3

Much to like on this 3 year old dog, full of character and pluck. Built on smaller lines, but all male and raring to go. Appealing head, with a flat skull, well placed neat ears, good length and strength to the foreface, and lovely dark eyes with a naughty expression. Clean and straight front, nicely boned limbs onto well rounded feet. Strong firm topline and well set on and used tail. Well developed through the body. Would like a fraction more rear angulation. Moved out well oozing confidence and style. Presented in a good jacket

Class 2423 OD (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 6126 OLIVER, Mrs K J & OLIVER, Mr A R Rufous Gubbeen Of Cleeve

Upstanding 2 year old dog, who I liked for his overall balance and racy outline, unlucky to meet the youngsters on such good form. Balanced head shape, showing good proportions, flat skull, ears not as settled, but still showing a keen expression. Lovely length of neck, flowing into a firm topline and well set on tail. Body well developed with the right amount of spring to the ribcage. Moving soundly in all directions and showing himself off well. Good coat texture.

2nd: 6115 HARDMAN, Mr I A Ch Swed Fin Est Int Ch Red Lucifer At Bonosue (re-import)

Very taken by the overall picture of this 7 year old dog. He has the desired substance but also the raciness. Preferred his head to winner, he has a super expression, long with a flat skull, neat well placed ears and those dark expressive eyes that give you ‘the look’! Good length of neck, firm and strong topline and correct tail set and carriage, well boned limbs and neat tight feet. Perhaps would like a fraction more rear angulation, short hock to heel. Loved him in profile on the move, but today lost out as his front action was not as tidy as winner.

1st: 6121 LEE, Miss Victoria Ivyblue Red Sunlight

Cheeky 9 month old bitch, not making things easy for her handler today. Liked her shape, she has a nice flow to her outline, nothing is overdone. Feminine head, narrow between the ears, which are well set, good length to the foreface, keen and alert dark eyes, very attentive to her handler. Good length of neck, still needing to finish dropping into herself, clean straight front. Holding a firm topline on a medium length of back. Liked her hindquarters, moderate, but with a nice bend to the stifle and width to the thigh. Tending to bring her tail over a little farther on the move today. Being a little unsettled on the move, but everything will come together with time. Harsh coat texture.

Class 2427 JB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 6114 GUMMOW, Mrs Joyce Pinleygreen Irish Star For Montelle

Super youngster, who caught my eye for her for her typical outline, a quality young bitch, and one I considered in the challenge. So very feminine, but with a nice amount of bone and substance showing to be balanced in her outline. Lovely head piece, with good ear placement, dark mischievous eyes, along with a typical Irish attitude. Her clean neck of good length seamlessly flowing into a firm level topline, ending at her well set on, and carried tail. Moderate hindquarters and low set hocks. Showing a positive action fore and aft.

Class 2428 PGB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 6117 HARDMAN, Mr I A & HOWARTH, Mrs Andrea Bonosue Shooting Star

15 month old bitch, liked the overall size and shape of this young bitch, but still needing to mature a little more all through. She has a feminine head that has the narrowness between the ears, but the ears are needing to settle, good length to the foreface, dark inquisitive eyes giving a keen and alert expression. Good length of neck, straight front, brisket is down to the elbow and ribs carried well back, topline is firm, but falling away a little at the croup. She has a lovely side profile movement, well handled and presented

Class 2429 LB (5 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 6107 ATKIN, Mr R. J. & ATKIN, Mrs J. Holbam Celtic Rose (a.i.) JW

Lovely outline to this 2 year old bitch. Liked her overall size, femininity and racy profile. Just right for balance with one part flowing into the next. She shows herself off with confidence and style. Feminine head of good length, well proportioned, narrow between the ears which are well placed, her dark eyes alert and missing nothing. Neck of good length, to a firm and well held topline. Chest is well let down, with a nice spring to the ribcage. Correct hindquarters with a good width of thigh and in good muscle tone. Short hock to heel. She carries herself well around the ring, with a positive footfall. Coat of good texture and well presented. Delighted to award her the BCC & BOS, her 2nd hope your 3rd is not too long in coming.

2nd: 6128 REDMAN, Mrs Eve Holbam Freya JW

Much to like on this 2 year old bitch that has a shapely silhouette when stood, she is a fraction more refined, but with lovely body lines to give a typical outline, and so very feminine. Pleasing head and expression, very balanced and proportionate, with dark expressive eyes. Good length of neck, flowing into a firm topline to a well set on tail, her back is of good length with the right amount of spring to the ribcage. Moderate hindquarters and short hock to heel. She has a lovely rapport with her handler to move positively and true. Presented with a good harsh jacket and in good condition

1st: 6125 OLIVER, Mrs K J & OLIVER, Mr A R Ch Kerrykeel Aobheann

Very smart 5 year old bitch, thought her to be very typy and full of quality. Liked her overall size and stature. She has a balanced head, long and finely chiselled, with the right amount of strength to the foreface. Lovely dark expressive eyes, but today preferring the overall expression of the limit bitch. Good length of neck, flowing seamlessly into a firm and level topline finishing with a good tail set and carriage. Well developed in the body, with the chest well let down. Moderate hindquarters, with a decent width of thigh. Moving out cleanly in all directions whilst holding her outline in profile. Excellent coat and well presented – RBCC

2nd: 6108 AVERIS, Mr J & RYAN, Mrs D Saredon Flamboyance

Another quality bitch with a great ring presence, and showed herself off to advantage. Very proud in her demeanour and racy in outline. Lovely head, narrow between the ears, proportionate back skull to foreface with dark inquisitive eyes. Clean neck of good length, deep in brisket and ribs nicely sprung, held a firm topline stood, but tending to slacken on the move today. Muscular hindquarters with low set hocks. At one with her handler, shown in lovely condition with a good jacket.

Pleasing 8 year old bitch, who presents a shapely outline, racy but with good substance. Liked her overall balance and proportions. Her head is feminine, with a lovely dark eye, would prefer a slightly better ear placement. Good length of neck and a firm level topline with the correct length of back. Chest is well let down and stands on well boned limbs and nicely rounded feet. Moderate hindquarters, with a good width of thigh and in good condition. Well textured coat. Moving true fore and aft, and showing herself off well. BVIB, pleased to see she was shortlisted in the veteran group
