This is a lovely breed and I thoroughly enjoyed judging them. Thank you to the committee for asking me and to the exhibitors for entering.

I tried to find the dogs closest to the standard that fulfilled the breed characteristics. Proportions, movement coat texture, head-shape and size all very important here. I thought the quality and presentation was excellent and mouths were good.

Puppy Dog

1 Fitton, Skeen & Bond - Pharises Frank Sinatra 10m B/roan –

Loved this youngster. Overall correct proportions and angulation. Good head shape and eye and ears. He’s only young but everything is in place to make a super adult. Strong head and jaw that some lacked in. Correct front viewed from front and side and correct hind angulation slightly greater than front. Moved effortlessly with reach and drive. I was delighted to see him win Puppy Group 3 and I will watch his future closely. BP

2 Webb & Ferguson – Tigre Di Casa Ghini NAF TAF 10m B/W –

Another smart puppy. Slightly larger cast overall. Good head shape, eye and ears good. Being picky I preferred the legs on the first pup. Again moved well.

Junior Dog

1 Whitworth – Mad max Madiba of Freworth (Imp Ita) O/Roan 15m

Very promising youngster. Excellent overall proportions and correct colour and rustic coat. Head properties all good and nice neck to body and leg proportion. Lovely hindquarters strong and well developed. Nothing exaggerated a good honest example of the breed. RBD

2 Lightfoot - Rajo Del Carpino Nero O/W 15m – Very raw youngster not as mature or collected as 1. Good head proportions just slightly more muzzle and stop. Over body proportions good just needs a bit more muscle and a bit of confidence.

Post Graduate Dog

1 Pragg & Willott - Arctic Breeze on Vacation 20m B/Roan – Well it was a close thing for BD between this one and the winner of open.

He is very moderate and balanced and the ideal size. His head has the right slightly shorter muzzle to skull ratio and widens to give the correct head shape. Good eyes and ears correctly set. Correct coat texture and length and a good rustic appearance, not flashy just an honest dog. Moved so very well. Happy to award BD

Limit Dog

1 Mort - Il Granaio Dei Malatesta Ruble at Arcticbreeze O/W 3 ½

Different type to the winner of the last class, taller but still within the standard. Good head proportions and neck body and leg correct ratio.

Longer in the body and I would have liked elbows a little tighter but moved very well and stands over his ground. A proud male. Still a very good example of the breed.

Open Dog

1 Zdubic Sinkovik & Bond – Multi Ch Kan Trace Emit Remmus B/W 2yo Quality strong male of good size and proportions. Strong muscular neck going into long well laid shoulders and good upper arm. In very good muscle throughout. Correct square overall. Good strong well angulated hindquarters correct hocks and good feet.

Moved out well and in profile very good.

2 Whittick - Arcticbreeze Turbulence at Allsong B/W 4 ½ yo

Larger type to 1. Good strong neck and correct forequarters. Good ratios of body to leg length and overall length. Good coat texture. Moved well.

Special Beginners

1 Wade – Mikette Pumpkin Pie 10m O/W Male puppy of good bone and proportions. Good shape head and correct eye shape and ear set. Moved better this time around. Very well handled and shown to his advantage.

Puppy Bitch

1 Adams Gina Lollogrigida Fisherbloom 10m B/W sister to the puppy dog winner. I think behaved very well for her first show thanks to a kind handler who made her experience a good one. Nice proportions overall and moved well. Chest needs to drop a bit and muscle to develop but she’s a puppy and correct for that age. I look forward to seeing her again in the future.

Junior Bitch

1 Stephenson – Made Chianti for Timtaurn (Imp Ita) B/roan 15m Very nice example of the breed excellent proportions and good head shape. Lovely depth of chest, narrow and widening behind the elbows. Good length of rib and strong hindquarters. Well-muscled fit dog everything in moderation and overall really easy on the eye. Excellent movement, confident and purposeful RBB

2 Mort – Arcticbreeze Top Secret 17m B/W Very unsettled today but handler did a good job of getting her to show. Good proportions overall. Head all correct and nice front and good hindquarters. Just preferred the first for overall balance and movement.

Postgraduate Bitch

1 Arcticbreeze Keep a Secret sister to 2nd in junior A different package to her sister in that she shows like a professional. Really liked her overall balance and proportions. Super head piece going into nice slightly arched strong neck and good shoulders. Lovely hindquarters with good angulation and good tail set. Pressed hard for top honours, one to watch.

Limit Bitch

1 Heller – Arcticbreeze Hopscotch to Floreydown rising 3 yo B/Roan Another lovely bitch from this kennel showing all the right breed characteristics. Overall would prefer a touch longer leg to body ratio but lovely head and straight front and strong rear. Very well handled.

2 Whittick - Moonreed Warbler at Allsong 5yo O/W Just loved this girls personality. What a character very aptly named! A touch larger than I would want but proportions all good and moved well.

Open Bitch

1 Mort - Arcticbreeze Truth or Dare rising 3yo B/Roan Well pretty much exactly what I was looking for today though she had some very close competition. However, she fulfilled my requirements in terms of size and proportions and movement. The head is in proportion to the body and has the correct qualities for the breed. Coat correct length and texture. Moved beautifully with reach and drive as required. BB & BOB

2 Whittick - Allsong Nuova Luna 2y8m White Daughter of the ‘warbler’ in the previous class and clearly a good result from the breeding. Really super quality female. Just love her balance and proportions. Correct head shape and neck length. In fit condition and moved out well and in profile. Very well done to breed her. Well handled.
