Thankyou to the Ladies Kennel Association for inviting me to judge my wonderful Irish Setters at this most prestigious show,the arrangements and hospitality were flawless ,it was a very great honour.Thankyou also to the wonderful exhibitors who brought their beautiful examples of this marvellous breed ,the atmosphere they created made this a very special occasion.Last but by no means least a special thanks to my fantastic stewards ,Glenda Gilks and Sian(Fultan) McKay,who,with their organisational skills and special brand of humour ensured the show ran smoothly and efficiently.

My results were:

Dogs.MPD (5.1)1.Harris,Fairhaven Young Soul.Just 6 months and what an appealing youngster he is,gorgeous head with a clean neck,well placed ears ,good stop and a very alert expression,as might be expected a little on the leggy front but sound in the body with good bone and angulation without exaggeration,coat is coming on and he moved assuredly ,all round very much one to watch,I liked him a great deal.(BPD).2.Ashley-Turner,Riverbrue the Joker ,a well made young man of good proportions ,moderately broad in the head with clear stop and a good muzzle,nice length of neck into a clean shoulder ,slope to the topline and a clean tailset ,well angled quarters ,feet could be tighter but moved soundly.3.Honeybun.Riverbrue Quicksilver.(litter brother to 2.) PD.(5.2)1.Harris.Fairhaven Young Soul.(as MPD).2.Pym.Marzanne Trigger Happy by Thendara.Lovely type with good conformation,balanced head with attractive expression,strong neck into good shoulders and topline,bodying up nicely with a good chest ,straight front and well angled rear quarters,hocks could be stronger but will come as muscles develop,moved with energy.JD.(4.2)1.Lorrimer ,Gwendariff Disco Dazzler,really likeable head with raised eyebrows and dark eye to give a most appealing expression,well laid shoulders and good strong topline,correct upper arm angulation and well boned,chest still developing but muscular frame well proportioned,nice length of stifle and strong hocks,good feet,moved with drive and action.2.Russell,Tiroen Touch Of Magic By Settersoll, a little raw looking but a quality youngster,balanced head features with a nice eye ,moderate neck with good shoulders,deep chest and nice line to loin,well angled quarters and good hocks,will improve a lot as he muscles up.3.Milligan-Bott & Bott,Thendara Haribo.YD.(4.1)1. Danks-Kemish.Sh Ch Alolfrana All I Ask Of Eveandabec .Strong balanced looking dog when stacked and was a pleasure to go over,very well made head with good stop and dark almond shaped eye and well set ears,nice reach of neck and strong topline to a good croup,liked his front angulation and ample bone ,deep chest with plenty of heart room,strong first thigh and nice bend of stifle to hocks,moved soundly and with energy.2.Miller,Alolfrana I Got A Feeling Of Millthyme,litter brother to 1 and remarks are similar as to his quality with quality head,good shoulders and body,again,liked the angulation and short hocks,didn’t move as well as 1 and this will be down to muscle development which is needed but will come.3.Spencer.Sheldonite More Romance.GD.(10.2)1.Berry&Morris,Coppers Midsummer Night,s Dream ,Outstanding dog looking so well balanced considering he is quite rangy but carried it so well,well developed head set on a lovely arched neck blending into very good shoulders and a neat sloping topline,straight front to good tight feet,well developed chest through to strong loin and strong rear end,excellent angulation with muscular first and second thighs ,went with drive and presented in good coat,2.Levene&Lewis,Quensha remember The Name Valasarch.unlucky to run into 1 today as this is another quality dog,balanced head with good nose,dark eye and raised brows producing an attractive masculine expression,sound construction through front quarters well developed body and strong rear end,short hocks and good movement but not the drive of 1 today.3.Aldridge,Clonageera Winner Takes All.PGD.(7.1)1.Parsons & Parsons.Quensha Thinking Out Loud At Bransett.litter brother to 2nd in previous class and caught my attention as he came into the ring gleaming in coat and so well presented he just stood out,super head of moderate proportions with strong neck flowing into a lovely sloping topline and good tailset,well developed chest ,excellent upper arm angulation, and good bone all through,muscular thighs and a lovely sweep of stifle ,moved with reach drive and energy,very close to top honours today.2 Jones&Jones.Gwendariff Its Just A Rumour.Didnt make top spot today but the quality ,pedigree and type shone through,excellent head with a lovely dark almond shaped eye ,good reach of neck into well laid shoulders and strong topline,great depth of chest with plenty of heart room,straight front and good feet ,very well developed quarters and neat short hocks,moved soundly.Liked him a lot.3.Sheldon.Bardonhill A Million Ways To Delsanto.LD.(10)1.Richardson.Gwendariff Tullys red Arrows.Another super boy from this top kennel,balanced throughout without any exaggerations and in lovely dark gleaming coat,sculptured head with raised brows and true expression,very well constructed, good quarters and really good muscular development, racy in style and moved with enthusiasm.2.Gardner.Quensha Walk Me Home To Danwish.A very good outline with a well constructed head and a lovely soft expression,correctly arched neck flowing into a slightly sloping topline and a good tailset,good depth to the body and a nice width to his quarters and in strong bone, wasn’t as positive in his movement as 1 .3.Cohen.Lynwood Merry May With Shushana.OD,((5.2).1.Milligan-Bott & Bott.Thendara Big Love. Very special looking boy when stacked with that groomed fringe to his quarters ,underbody,and front,well constructed and good bone, a strong masculine dog throughout, well made head with raised brows and an expression that is soft and quizzical,long arched neck and strong topline with good tailset,straight front with tight elbows and tight feet,sweeping stifle down to his short hocks ,presented in excellent coat and moved positively and happily.(RDCC).2,Lorrimer,Sh Ch Kerrimere Classique. Very well proportioned with a lovely balanced head ,strong neck into a good lay of shoulder,correct upper arm angulation and a nicely defined forechest,strong ribcage with plenty of heart room,nicely muscled rear quarters and moved with enthusiasm.3.Pym,Bott & Milligan-Bott.Thendara Marshmellow. VD.(3) 1.Gisby&Gisby.Sh Ch Suterestt King Of Hearts.I have placed this dog before but he has now matured into a super specimen of the breed.Irish Setters take time to mature fully and he has now reached his fulfilment,A superb picture of balance and construction with a strong masculine head and expression but no coarseness,correct slightly arched neck into lovely shoulders and a slightly sloping topline ,straight front and neat tight feet,lovely chest development gently rising to strong loins and muscular rear end,short strong hocks,beautifully presented ,nothing overdone ,and he moved like a train with power and drive.(DCC & BOB.)2.Pym,Thendara The Watchmaker.another well constructed top dog who I have liked for some time ,good head and dark eye with a soft expression,nice reach of neck and strong topline to correct tailset,deep chest and good bone throughout,strong quarters although he could be a little erratic on the move which tended to spoil his balance.3.Hunnybun&Hunnybun.Riverbrue Imperial Spritz.GCD.(1).1.Berry&Morris.Brinara Country Boy.Stood alone but nice looking boy in outline and has a lovely dark eye and sweet expression,good body proportions and nice angulation with tight feet,more muscle toning would help his movement .SpBD.(1).1.Spencer.Sheldonite More Romance.3rd in a strong yearling class but is nicely proportioned with a balanced head on good shoulders , deep chest with plenty of ribroom and sloping to strong loins,nice sweep of stifle and moved soundly.

Bitches.MPB.(7.3)1.Kassube&French.Cararua Spring Pearl.A 6 month baby but has all the makings to do well,Sweet in the head with an attaractive dark almond shaped eye,nice reach of neck blending well into the shoulders,developing body and good bone ,nicely angled quarters,moved with good energy and showed off her balance.2.Vincent & Spencer.Corranroo Winter Moon Over Caervista.Nice compact body shape and attractive head proportions,appealing body development for a youngster and a good tailset,good shape to her quarters and move sprightly and steadily for one so young.3.Berry&Morris,Riverbrue Mistique Avec brinara.PB.(5.1)1.Rutherford,Clonageera Summer Moments.A very attractive and very promising 9 month young lady who is developing really well with clean lines flowing from her head ,neck,topline and tailset, nicely balanced front and rear assemblies and chest development coming along ,strong but feminine, I think she has a bright future.(BPB&BPIB).2.Milligan- Bott & Bott.Thendara Truly.Quite striking in profile and sound in construction as I went over her,attractive head and very sweet expression,lovely shaped neck and clean shoulders with well angulated quarters,good bone and musculature coming along nicely,very well presented and moved soundly.3.Hadfield,Marzannes Happy Returns.JB.(10.3).1.Gisby&Gisby.Marlland Lily On The Valley By Suteresett. Very well put together with a real racy style to her and in gleaming coat ,lovely soft feminine expression,excellent shoulders and topline,bodying up nicely ,moved positively and energetically.2.Cox,Tiroen The Sky,s The Limit.Dark eye,good stop,well set ears and nice shape to her head,elegant neck and strong in the shoulder,correct upper arm angle and straight front,nice length to her and well made loins,moderate angulation which I look for and thigh muscles developing ,moved soundly .3.Mugford,Kedalita Abfab For Lynwood.YB.(2.1).1.Kennedy-Sloane.Twoacres Contrary Mary.Nicely balanced and in proportion throughout,moderate neck ,clean in the shoulder , good topline and tailset ,nice chest development and strong quarters,used her strong hocks to good effect in her movement.2.Danks-Kemish,Alolfrana Whole Lotta Love With Redeshka.Another nicely framed young lady with a sweet expression ,neck on the longer side ,good front and tight feet ,nice ribcage flowing to strong loin makeup, needs some muscle toning but moved soundly.GB.(6.2).1.McDonald,Quensha Galway Girl,Really liked this girl ,so elegant and standing four square to present a lovely balanced picture,beautiful head and soft feminine expression,lovely shoulders and strong in the topline,nice forechest and front,deep chest and sound ribcage,nice angulation and good thigh muscle development,strong hocks,moved with energy and drive.2.Bridgwater&Goddard,Bridgella,s Jubilee Queen.this was a very good class with another striking young girl ,really attractive in the head neck and shoulders and with good angulation to front and rear assemblies,feminine but strongly made and movement was very good ,presented and handled really well ,pushed 1 all the way but preferred the energy and drive on 1 in the end.3.Sloane&Sloane,Ferasheen Pop The Champers.PGB.(11.4).1.Mugford,Lynwood Rather Scrumptious.So much going for this lady,lovely picture in profile and a pleasure to go over her,beautiful refined head of classical lines,elegant neck and shoulders ,sloping topline and strong croup,no exaggeration in her angulation and strong first and second thighs,short in the hock enabling a positive and powerful action.(RBCC).2.Parsons and Parsons,Forfarian Flutt,r Yer Lashes At Bransett.Top quality girl built in good proportions to her very feminine frame,lovely flowing lines head to tail and strong quarters showing off her movement,presented in lovely condition but unlucky to have met 1 today whose head and balance I just preferred.3.Corless,Swiftlark Illustrious.LB.(13.6).1.Sturrock&Sturrock,Forfarian Tickles Yer Fancy.A really nice class.Lovely sweet head with attractive almond shaped eyes,built on racy lines with arched neck and good shoulders,plenty of heart room in her deep chest and liked her moderate and balanced angulation,sound muscle development and good hocks providing the drive in her movement.2.Henderson,Sametsuz Pillowtalk,Attractive in profile and presented in good bloom,nicely chiselled jaws and sweet intelligent expression,good upper arm angulation, forechest and front, with tight feet,deep in chest and strength to her loins,good length of stifle and balanced enthusiastic movement.3. Holley,Gwendariff,Thistle Be Jills At Wynjill.OB.(6.4)1.Sturrock&Sturrock.Forfarian Soo Lush, Georgeous feminine bitch and breed type of the highest quality which won her the CC,beautiful balanced head with raised brows ,good stop ,low set ears,and lovely dark eye,the strong lines from neck through well laid shoulders to topline and tailset just oozed quality,proportionate in angulation and strong in hock,great strength and action to her movement (BCC).2.Heather&Heather,Sixoaks Leading Lady,attractive head and nicely arched neck into shoulders which were a tad heavy for me,nice flowing topline and good croup,balanced in the body with a nice line to good loins,strong rear quarters and good hocks,sound in her movement.VB.(4.2).1.Mugford,Sh Ch Lynwood Abracadabra,Doesn,t look her age at all and a lovely champion,Soft sweet expression and moderate length neck to good shoulders,straight front and tight feet,deep chest and muscular quarters,presented in good coat and moved well.2.Elkins,Sh Ch Twoacres Promise Of Spring,another well deserved champion showing off her lovely qualities,nice flowing lines from her attractive head to her strong croup and good tailset,strong wide hindquarters and sound in her movement.GCB.(3.2)1.Waterton,Sandstream Welcome Breeze,10 years old and going very well if a little more genteely ,lovely head ,good forechest and nice body proportions,not as well muscled these days but went around the ring with enthusiasm.SpBB.(4.2).Bentley,Penclippin Celtic Asthore,pleasant head with an attractive dark eye,good shoulders and topline and well developed in her chest and quarters,handled kindly and moved really well.(BSpBB)2.Williams,Alolfrana Isadora Dances For Lavansands,low set ears neat flews and nice dark eye,well built and angulation is good,moved a little erratically but time and practice will fix that.
