Thank you to the National Australian Shepherd Association Committee for inviting me to judge the Special Award Classes at their amazing championship show. It is no doubt that these shows are something to look forward to. Well organised, fun exciting shows! All credit has to go to the hard working committee! And finally thank you to the exhibitors who entered under me, I was really pleased with the quality of dogs in the classes! 

 Special Award Classes

Yearling Dog or bitch (6-24 months)(10,3) 

1. Woodhouse’s Onyxwood Give Us A Twirl 18 month old Black Tri female of good breed type. Totally balanced throughout, feminine head, almond shaped eye obliquely set, moderate stop and well placed ears. Good length of neck, well angulated fore and hind quarters, level topline held firm on the move. Well set tail which helped her keep it low. Converges beautifully front and rear, moved soundly around the ring a moderate girl throughout!. 

2. Wray-Ramsden’s Arohahills A Star Is Born For Takhisis (Imp Zaf) NAF 8 month old Black Tri female, another one that was balanced throughout.Feminine head, almond shaped eye, moderate stop and correctly set ears. Lovely length of neck leading into well set shoulders. Well angulated front and rear, level firm topline held well on the move. Just needed to settle on the move and a little more condition however could easily forgive for her age. 

3. Mackenzie’s Shepherds Of Paradise u’r My Gal NAF (Imp Fra) 

Open Dog (11,6)

 1. Heggie’s Winstead Brave New World Ir Jun Ch Black Tri male, very moderate and balanced throughout. Masculine head that still has plenty of finishing to do, however could see the quality in him. Dark almond shaped eyes obliquely set. Moderate stop, well set ears which he used non stop. Well angulated fore and hind quarters, firm level topline held well on the move, moderate bone. Converged beautifully on the up and back, effortless overall movement.

 2. Downes’s Damani Dream Give Me Five At Milwyr Black Tri male with a pleasing head, almond shaped eyes, correct stop, correctly set ears, which he used well. Enough reach of neck into well laid shoulders and level firm topline. Well muscled hindquarters. Moved soundly around the ring. 

3rd Heggie’s Welcome To The Jungle.

 Open Bitch (7,3) 

1. Bothwell’s Norcis Dusky Disco JW - Black Tri female, excellent breed type. Well balanced, pleasing feminine head, correct stop, dark almond shaped eyes. Correctly set ears which was used well. Good length of neck, well angulated front and rear, firm level topline held well on the move. Neat short hocks. Converges beautifully, effortless movement overall. 

 2. Brown’s Shulune Secret Storm Over Sherwood - Black Tri Female. Well balanced head, correct stop, dark almond shaped eyes, correctly set ears. Good length of neck, good front and rear angulations, was just carrying a little more weight than desired.

 3rd Woodhouse’s Bollinchep Coloradoblue.
