SAMOYED CRITQUE FOR RICHMOND CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW

I was delighted to see Samoyeds gain CC status at Richmond Championship show, and be invited to judge them this year. The standard was exceptionally high and the presentation all round was excellent, which was a credit to the exhibitors. While the weather was atrocious, and had an impact on the ring conditions, the Samoyed community remained very positive in these challenging circumstances, and made me feel very welcome.

I would like to thank my two ring stewards for their outstanding assistance on the day, and everyone who took the time and effort to exhibit under me. It was very much appreciated.

I was over the moon to see my winners doing so well in the Groups, with Bitch CC awarded 2nd in PUPPY GROUP, Best Veteran awarded 2nd in VETERAN GROUP, and Best Special Beginners awarded 4th in SPECIAL BEGINNERS GROUP.

6 months old and very promising young male. Well-proportioned and balanced. He had a good wedge-shaped head with nice dark pigmentation. Alert and expressive, and moved well.

Nicely well-rounded puppy with good pigmentation, coat, and nice expression. Movement a little erratic at first through inexperience but quickly settled down.

Making his presence felt, lovely condition, full coat with nice broad skull and almond shaped eyes, dark brown with nice expression, correct ear carriage, strong neck flowing down into well placed shoulders and level topline, nice depth of chest. Moved well.

Soundly constructed, well balanced and showing it on the move. Good head and expression with excellent pigmentation, a few weeks will see him back in full coat. Another lovely representation of the breed.

Unbelievable at almost 11-years, so well balanced, she flowed around the ring. Shown in excellent condition, broad skull, almond shaped dark brown eyes, nice ear shape, good depth of chest, still has strong pasterns, lovely topline and showed with attitude.

Owning the ring when she entered, full of sparkle and presence. She ticked all the boxes for me. Sound and compact body, nice dark eye and excellent wedge-shaped head with lovely alert and intelligent expression without taking away from her femininity. Profuse coat in pristine condition. She moved with drive and purpose and had ring presence to match her presentation. BITCH CC and BEST PUPPY

Another 2-year-old maturing nicely, with good head, pigment and coat. A little unsettled on the day possibly by the extreme weather conditions.

Feminine and alert, with strong well arched neck into good shoulder, good depth of chest, well balanced body. Excellent tail set. Moved with fluidity, beautifully presented in full coat.

A lovely mature bitch, very pleasing to the eye. Good wedge-shaped head with excellent pigmentation. Sound conformation and well balance. Correct texture coat, presented beautifully. Moved and showed well.

 Pretty 2 ½ year old, needs more body, but has plenty of time to mature. Good pigmentation and coat coming on nicely. Needs a little more ring awareness but this should come with experience.
