Basset Griffon Vendeen (Grand) Boston 2024 Post Graduate Dog Entries: 1 Absentees: 0 1 Soufriere Paserelle Bateau (Mrs S Marshall). Two and a half year old tri colour. Much to like in this dog with a pleasing head of correct proportions. Skull correctly domed and correct set of leathers which are of appropriate length. Good dark eye. Nice length of neck into decent shoulder placement. Well-developed brisket and well ribbed up. Hind angulation ok. I would prefer a fraction more leg to complete the overall picture. Open Dog Entries: 1 Absentees: 0 1 Gairside Special Edition (Mr C & Mrs A Makey). O/W. This dog pleased for his overall proportions. Pleasing head piece with correct length of muzzle which has good strength and well-developed lip. Good nose of good size and lovely open nostril, colour appropriate for coat colour. Nice front assembly with good broad chest and well-developed brisket. Good for bone and nice feet. Correct body properties and good topline and tail set. Correct tail length. Could be a little more parallel behind. Moved ok. Veteran Dog Entries: 2 Absentees: 0 Nice class with two very typical males. 1 Multi Ch Gairside Good Lord JW ShCM ShCEx Cw19 VW (Mr C & Mrs A Makey). Quality dog who apparently was my BOB at SKC some three years ago. I still think him a quality Grand and he was challenged by another very good male here but I just preferred the head and overall expression on Good Lord. He has a quality head of correct width and skull to muzzle proportions and prominent occiput. Good length of leathers correctly set. Correct slight Roman appearance to the bridge oh his nose which is well developed. Good neck and shoulder. Correct front with nice bone. Nice tail which is well set and carried correctly on the move. BOB. 2 Ch/ir Ch Tarmachan Ice Cool (Mr R & Mr A R Bailey & Yates). Another good dog who has many attributes. Slightly longer in loin than 1 and a little broader in skull. Pleasing skull to muzzle ratio. Good eye and ear. Pleasing neck and shoulder and nice front assembly. Topline is correct and tail is well set and of appropriate length. In good jacket. Moved well. Puppy Bitch Entries: 1 Absentees: 0 1 Tarmachan Toscanello (Miss A O'day). Ten and a half month old very raw young bitch who needs time to mature. Owner told me after that some have had negative comments about this puppy, well I agree she is very raw but in my non-specialist opinion is quite promising. She wont be small but otherwise has all the essentials. Lovely head and expression. Good eye. Correct size and set of her ears. Good length of neck into well placed shoulders. She has a super front assembly. Bum high at this time but this should settle down as she grows into herself. Decent jacket. Nice on the move with a very pleasing side gait. Post Graduate Bitch Entries: 1 Absentees: 0 1 Soufriere Tourbillon at Woolybassets (Mrs A Weymouth). Nice for size. Pleasing head and expression. Head typical of desired Grand proportions. Decent front assembly and good bone and feet. Well ribbed back but would prefer ribs slightly more rounded. Just falls off a little at the croup and a lower set tail than desired detracts slightly. Moved very well and in good hard condition. In good jacket. Open Bitch Entries: 4 Absentees: 1 1 Ch Wilmit Jugeote (Mrs B Milton). Smart very typey bitch who immediately impressed with her overall shape. She is of good size and overall body proportions. Good quality head with correct domed skull and not too wide, Correct skull to muzzle ratio. Decent length of neck into well laid shoulders. Nice front. Nicely angulated behind. In good hard condition and in a good rough jacket. Moved very well with good tail carriage. I can see how she has gained her title which is well deserved. RBB. 2 Soufriere One Vision JW (Mrs S Marshall) Slightly longer cast than ideal as compared to 1 but nicely made throughout. Pleasing head which is feminine without any loss of strength. Good ears of correct length and texture, well set on the skull. Good topline and tail set. Moved very well. Just preferred the length of neck and shoulder angulation of 1. 3 Gairside Special Interest (Mr C & Mrs A Makey) Veteran Bitch Entries: 3 Absentees: 0 Again, veteran was a class of quality, with two nice bitches of differing type yet both super movers that could teach the youngsters. 1 Ch Tarmachan Black Ice Ww18 (Mrs F, Mr M & Miss A Buchanan, Maclaren & O’day). I liked this bitch very much in terms of her overall size, silhouette and overall substance. Pleasing quality head. Good dark eye. Best of leathers. Nice front with good breadth of chest and well-developed brisket. Super topline with slight rise over a muscular loin. Well angulated hindquarters. Sound mover. BB. 2 Ch Wilmit Independence Day JW (Mrs B Milton) This bitch is of such good breed type. I really liked her head and expression which was one of the best of the entry. Beautiful neck of good length but retaining strength into well placed shoulders. Lovely front assembly. Super bone for a bitch. Good underline but just at 7 years is now losing her topline which cost her a place her. Moved very soundly and with super reach in front. 3 Silvamoon Saffron at Soufriere VW (Mrs S Marshall).
