Basset Hound Club of Scotland 18/10/2024 Special award classes I would like to firstly thank the club and committee for giving me the opportunity to carry out my first judging appointment and to all the exhibitors who entered under me with some fabulous top quality hounds it was hard to pick winners. Junior dog or Bitch (7,3) 1st Blevwil Becca Gain, 9 month old red and white bitch. A lovely example in great condition that moved well. Nice head with correct bite and good length of ear. Shoulder blades well laid back with Correct front and rear angulation and a good bend of stifle. Nice tail set and held her topline well, stacked and on the move. 2nd Bromp Ronnie smart at Blevwil, 7 month old red and white dog. Another lovely example of the breed with a lot to like shown in top quality. Very hard to split 1st and 2nd and would easily swap places anytime. A very nice head with good neck leading into well laid back shoulders. Correct front and rear assembly with nice tail set. Held his topline on the move and in stack. Moved well and accurately 3rd Woferlow Storm Princess into Akura, 9 month old tri bitch. Another quality hound with a lovely expression and head, Well laid back shoulders into good front. Nice bend of stifle and rear angulation. Carried tail well when on the move and held top line. Slightly heavier in type than 1st and 2nd. Post Graduate dog or bitch (5,1) 1st Blevwil Heres to Harriett, 1 year old red and white bitch. A very nice feminine head with good length of ear, Good length of neck leading into well laid back shoulders and a good front assembly. Ribs well rounded and nice bend of stifle with good rear angulation. Nice amount of skin and coat in good condition. 2nd Harvidene La Bambola, 11 month old red and white bitch. Another lovely bitch when settled with a good head and nice length of ear. Shoulders well laid back, Ribs well sprung and rounded. Carried tail well on move and held her topline. Coat in good condition with nice loose skin. 3rd Nagyhegyi Pajkos Taylors of Harrogate (imp Hun), 1 year old tri dog. Good masculine head with ears of a nice length. Well laid back shoulders and nice spring of rib. Lovely top line with a good bend of stifle and rear angulation. A good coat with a nice elastic skin presented in top condition Open dog or bitch (10,2) 1st CH IR CH INT CH Blevwil Kenny Dewitt, 3 year old tri dog. An absolutley stunning dog that catches the eye when he enters the ring, Shown in great condition. A lovely head with correct bite, Nice eyes and good length of ear. Well laid back shoulders with a super front assembly and well knuckled feet. Good top line and tail set. Nice bend of stifle and rear angulation. Moved well out and back and held his topline. 2nd Armardio Wind of Change, 2 year old red and white bitch. A lovely bitch in top condition. Nice feminine head with good eyes and ears of a good length and texture. Shoulders well laid back and a nice front assembly. Ribs well sprung and nicely rounded. Nice tail set and a good bend of stifle with good angulation. Moved well out and back just unlucky to be against 1st 3rd Harvidene Sapphire, 2 year old tri bitch. Another quality bitch with a lovely head and expression. Correct bite, Nice eyes and a good length of ear. Well laid back shoulders with nice front assembly. Well sprung ribs that carry nicely back. Nice bend of stifle and good rear angulation. Moved well but just didn’t carry tail as well 2nd. Iain Cruickshank.
