YKC HANDLING

DAY 1

YKC Mem 6-11

1st: Eva Scott – Handling a Border Collie. Calm and confident handler who listened clearly to my instructions and completed all the pattern work correctly and noticed when I moved the dogs leg.

2nd: Jayden Scott – Handling a Border Collie. Another handler who communicated with his dog at all times, presented the dog well and completed the triangle correctly, but unfortunately just did not complete the move on the straight up and down, ending in the wrong place, but still thoroughly deserved this placing

3rd: Emily Van De Ven handling a Rough Collie. Unfortunately, this dog did not want to play ball at all and I couldn’t go over him but Emily managed to move him with encouragement. Well done.

Class 890H YKC Mem 12-17

1st: Texas-Lee Dunstone – Handling a Norfolk Terrier. This dog gave his handler a hard time, but Texas communicated calmly with her dog at all times. Showed teeth correctly and completed all patterns precisely.

2nd: Claudia Kelleway – Handling a German Pinscher – Completed precise pattern work at the correct pace for the dog, communicated to her dog well, just needs to watch how close she comes to the judge on the final stop.

3rd: Paige Hughes – Handling a Siberian Husky – Confident handler and looked the part, was very attentive to her dog, pattern work was excellent but unfortunately she did not check the dogs leg which I moved when going over the dog.

Class 891H YKC Mem 18-24

1st: Kirsty Mabin – Handling a Shetland Sheepdog – Kirsty did communicate with her dog well but needs to practice her pattern work with the lines being sharper and straighter and finishing in line with the judge.

DAY 2

Class 1589H YKC Mem 6-11

1st: Jayden Scott – Handling a Hungarian Vizsla – Jayden handled this dog kindly and sympathetically. He checked the feet placement after I had moved them. Moved at correct pace for the dog with excellent pattern work using the ring well, completing all moves correctly. Communicated with his dog at all times.

2nd: Eva Scott – Handled a Hungarian Vizsla – Presented and handled this dog well even though it was difficult for her to stack this dog as he wriggled a lot, once again excellent pattern work using every corner of the ring. Communicated with her dog, but today the dog was not centred when stood after the final move.

3rd: Beau Casey – Handling a Russian Toy Terrier – Confident handler with good pattern work which was carried out precisely, unfortunately did not notice that I had moved a leg on the table.

YKC Mem 12-17

1st: Emily Moores – Handled a Pomeranian – Confident and calm handler, presented and handled her dog correctly, followed instructions well, lovely precise pattern work.

2nd: Paige Hughes – Handled an Irish Setter – Excellent handling with correct clean pattern work using the whole ring, very attentive to her dog, just when stood at the end of the move was not centred to me.

3rd: Francesca Wilson – Handled an ESS – Once again another excellent handler she looked the part and oozed confidence, was very attentive to the dog and judge but just needed to have sharper lines on the move.

YKC Mem 18-24

1st: Kizzy Porter – Handled a NSDTR – This was a hard dog for Kizzy to handle, but she was calm and communicated well what was required, excellent clean lines on the pattern work and moved at the correct pace.

2nd: Kathryn Sellick – Handled a Papillon – Again another handler who listened carefully to instructions and carried out the pattern work so cleanly and precisely, unfortunately did not move the dogs leg after I had moved it.

3rd: Rho Miller – Handled a NSDTR - This young lady needs to practice with her dog as she broke the golden rule of going between the dog and the judge, she communicated well to her dog at all times and was calm, moved him at the correct pace.

DAY 3

YKC Mem 6-11

1st: Jayden Scott – Handled a Miniature Schnauzer – Completed all the pattern work correctly even though this dog gave him a hard time, Jayden talked and encouraged the dog to move continually in a kind manner and he listened clearly to my instructions.

2nd: Libby Rycroft – Handled a Dachshund (Smooth Haired) – Calm hander, listened carefully to my instructions, completed all the pattern worked precisely with clean lines but just did not end up in the centre on the final stand.

3rd: Robyn Barrell – Handled a Shih Tzu – Great table work and well practiced teeth but unfortunately didn’t correct my moving of a leg, pattern work was good.

YKC Mem 12-17

1st: Paige Hughes – Handled a PGBV – Today was Paige’s day. Listened clearly to my instructions and carried them out calmly, communicated to her dog constantly, perfect pattern work ending up centrally at the end. A real joy to judge.

2nd: Thomas Taylor – Handled a Scottish Terrier – Calm handler who carried out the pattern work precisely with clean lines, could do with communicating with his dog a bit more and when coming back to the judge don’t go so close.

3rd: Lisa-Rose Saunders – Handled a Tibetan Spaniel – Handled the dog well and listened to instructions, carried out pattern work correctly but just needs to have cleaner lines, good communication with the dog.

YKC Mem 18-24

1st: Kathryn Sellick – Handled a Poodle (Miniature) – Stood alone in this class, listened to instructions, completed lovely clean pattern work and communicated to the dog all the time, you could see they were both enjoying themselves in the ring.
