National Working & Pastoral Breeds Society
I was delighted to find such a good quality entry, with so many champions here and promising youngsters.
PD (2). 1st Whyman & Murray’s Lappviken Keltainen of Manu. BP. Well proportioned and strong looking, with moderate and balanced angulation. Correct shape and proportions of head with tight fitting lips and dark oval eyes. Well defined forechest, well ribbed and muscular body. Moderate slope to front pasterns, rear pasterns straight. He moved well and easily from all views. 2nd Allison’s Lahetyaby Joulukoriste by Oberitz. Younger and less developed than first but already clearly male in head. Well proportioned in body with defined forechest. Good pasterns and feet. Not as precise on the move yet, but this will come. Two quality puppies.
JD (1) 1st L. Keltainen of Manu. As above.
PGD (2) 1st Daly’s Tabanyaruu Borealis Boo. BSB. Correct height to body length proportions. Very nice head with muzzle just shorter than skull and tapering slightly. Well shaped and set ears. Well ribbed and strong body. Moderate angles all round. Well set tail. Gait good from all views. 2nd Small & Thompson’s Ansalfrose Weikko JW. Well proportioned body with attractive masculine head and neat ears. His croup slopes somewhat more than required and this restricts his drive.
LD (2) 1st Anderson’s Limishka Voinamoinen. Well proportioned with a masculine head, oval eyes and soft expression. Well ribbed up, with correct forechest and short strong loin. Moderate slope to pasterns and moderately angled all round. Sound gait from all views. 2nd Aristides-Pickard’s Sambreeze Mikki Bear Cub. Attractive head though I would prefer slightly smaller ears. He is a little longer cast in body than first and needs more angulation in the rear, so his gait though sound lacked a bit of drive.
OD (4) Sorting this class out called for very close attention to detail. 1st Forsey’s Ch Arianrhod Black Sun Aeon at Muzoku. There is a lot to like here. Well proportioned height to length, well ribbed, strong in body. Balanced and moderate angles. A really sweet head and expression, lovely dark oval eyes, clearly male. In good coat and immaculately presented and handled. If I was being picky maybe he is a touch deep in chest. This is not going to hold him back functionally at all and he moves very soundly from all views with great verve. CC & BOB. 2nd Jackson’s Ch Elbereth Tuulenpoika JW. RCC. This is another really nice example of the breed, and similar comments apply. His lips are not quite as close fitting as first, and first had a slight edge on movement. 3rd Samuel’s Oberitz Buoremus. He was also a very good male example of the breed and was close up.
VD (5) 1st Short’s Ch Glenchess Gregory. I have admired this super boy in the past and at 8 years old he is still a textbook dog and a showman. He is well proportioned in body and has an excellent head with dark oval eyes, well placed ears. His angulation is moderate and balanced. Feet, coat and tail please. His gait is sound and typical from all views. 2nd Samuel’s Oberitz Upponalle. His height to body length is correct. Excellent head characteristics, with eyes that tone with his coat. Well ribbed with good forechest. At 9 years old he is still moving soundly, not quite as brisk as first. 3rd Woolard’s Ch Infindigo Lintu Miika. Left the ring before I could take notes. From memory, another nice boy.
SBD/B (2) A litter brother and sister. 1st T. Borealis Boo. As before. 2nd Ellis & Crosby’ Tabanyaruu Borealis Blitz. Feminine and typical head. Moderately angled with good pasterns and feet. At present her brother is moving slightly better of the two, but they both will develop on in body and muscling.
PB (3) 1st Moore’s Samerajerna’s Zaluda of Morval (Swed. Imp). At just 8 months old this girl is very smart. Well proportioned in body and head. She is feminine and stands well foursquare with a straight level topline. I found nothing that I wanted more or less of. Her gait is sound and typical from all views. 2nd Cross’ Lappviken Timantti of Manu. Close up to first. I really liked her body proportions, very pleasing and feminine head. Well balanced and gait was sound and typical. 3rd Forsey’s Muzoku Black Magic. Also a lovely girl with a pleasing head and body. Made well, she has all the components to move well, but chose to play up and be a puppy all the way round. Endearing and I am confident that she will move well on another day.
JB (3) 1st Jackson’s Elbereth Unisieppari JW. A feminine head, set well on neck and into shoulders. Firm topline and good general proportions. Good coat length and texture. She has forechest, balanced and moderate angles. Her gait was the soundest and best in the class. 2nd Greenland’s Skimarque Luminen Metsa from Rajarani. Very sweet, feminine girl with a pretty head of good proportions. She has a really good forechest and balanced, moderate angulation. Still to muscle up and this will make her gait more positive. 3rd Critchlow & Cooper’s Pavoska’s Ilomiele. Nicely built but needs a little more angulation behind. She had no intention of trotting around here, it was all too exciting. Another who will improve with time.
PGB (5,1) 1st Allison’s Oberitz Tumma Ruhtinatar. Correctly proportioned girl with a straight level topline, well held on the move. Well ribbed up and a good forechest. Balanced and moderate angles. Typey head. Good feet. Gait sound from all views. 2nd Tabanyaruu Borealis Blitz. As before. Showing herself off a little more in this class and looking good. 3rd Proctor’s Alkantara Talvi Hamara with Cathbri. A sweet girl, a little out-moved here. It was a very hot sultry afternoon by this point.
LB (5) 1st E. Unisieppari JW. As before. Still showing well. 2nd Woolard’s Infindigo Onnekas Kielo. A sound well made girl of slightly longer cast body. Feminine in head with a lovely soft expression. Good forechest. Slight slope to pasterns and good feet. Moved well from all views. 3rd Critchlow’s Pavoska’s Fuchsia. Left the ring before I could make notes.
OB (4,1) The quality in this class was outstanding. 1st Critchlow’s Ch Pavoskas Disco JW ShCEx OSW.. I have written “lovely”. She had good angles and bone lengths. Well proportioned she is just longer than height at withers. Coat of good texture. Typical and feminine head with pleasant expression. Pasterns slope slightly to good feet. Gait is sound and typical from all views, and she gave the dog strong competition in the challenge. CC & BOS. 2nd Anderson’s Ch Limishka Kareitar JW. Very close up to first and my comments are practically the same. I really liked this girl in make and shape. Her gait is also very good. RCC 3rd Graystone’s Ch Morval Helina Keiju. Beautiful feminine head, good proportions and angles. Slightly longer cast than the first two. Excellent in gait from all views.
VB (3.1) 1st Critchlow’s Ch Pavoska’s Ceili JW. This 7 year old has a beautiful outline thanks to her correct proportions, forechest, angulation all round and a good strong medium length neck supporting her typical head. She has a firm level topline. Sound gait from all views. BV. 2nd Aristides-Pickard’s Sambreeze Tiian Maria. This lovely lady is 10. She has a typical feminine head and expression. Balanced angulation. Excellent coat and well covered tail. I suspect that she was feeling the heat, as not moving as freely as her construction suggests she can.
