Breed: Old English Sheepdog

Windsor Championship Show – 27/06/2024

Old English Sheepdogs

My thanks to the Officers & Committee for the kind invitation to judge the breed I was bought up with. Many

thanks to my 2 stewards who did such a stirling job, the best stewards I have ever had, thank you ladies

much appreciated.. My thanks to the exhibitors for the lovely weekday entry and the sporting way my

decisions were mostly taken. I was pleased with the depth of quality, coats were good, and I found some

lovely square OES I was looking for. Rises are somewhat lacking still in the breed but there were some, I

found several suspect mouths, delighted to find some pigmented blue eyes and an improvement in hocks

and rear movement. My DCC & BCC just filled the eye and for me epitomised the breed standard, such an

upstanding masculine dog & a feminine female they so complimented each other. In the big ring I was so

proud to see my BOB take G3, my Best Special Beginner take SB G1 and my BP shortlisted in the Puppy

Group, wonderful for the breed, well done to you all. I wished I had more awards to give out some lovely

ones went cardless.
