Crufts 2024 Beagle My thanks to the CRUFTS Show Committee for the invitation to judge at this years show following the cancellation of CRUFTS 2021 show. Such a wonderful experience, a lovely entry awaited me & I thank exhibitors for giving me the privilege & pleasure of assessing their lovely hounds. Thanks also to the efficient Ring Stewards for their assistance in enabling me to carry out this assignment & keep the ring running smoothly & to time. I was looking for a well balanced hound, soundly constructed, who could move out soundly away & back, together with reach & drive in profile. I was very pleased with my two unbeaten line-ups & delighted with my main winners. Some classes were very competitive, which meant that some pleasing hounds went home without a card. Rossut Banter Smart 10 mth tri, lovely for size/type, well put together, Masculine head carried on lengthy neck, good shoulders, ribbing & well angulated rear.Shown in lovely condition, moved soundly & freely, just preferred head of 1, however lovely prospect. 3 Lewis. Fallowfield Romeo Attractive blanket tri of 11 mths, handsome head,dark eye, well set leathers, good overall shape & smart outline, good topline & tail set, at present is not as forward in his development as those above, moved out smartly & is promising. Ch.Davricard Gaultier DCC Immediately drawn to this super t/w youngster, lovely for size/type, very neat & compact, so well balanced with excellent construction, handsome head with kind expression carried on nicely arched neck, short coupled, good depth of chest, firm in topline, angulation is well balanced fore/aft, front leg placement well under withers, well set/carried stern, round bone/neat feet. Res CC Quality 3yr tri of excellent breed type, lovely for size, balance & outline, very eye catching, loved his well proportioned head & pleasing expression. He is well boned with good tight feet & well set stern. Has a strong level topline, deep well sprung ribbing, good turn of stifle & short hocks, moved out soundly with strong driving action, super temperament & excellent showman, close up in the challenge. 2 Beard. He is of a lovely size & type, pleases in head/eye, with low set leathers.Compact well made body, well ribbed back & firm level topline, well set stern, Happy showman moved out freely with strong hind action. 3 Taylor. Deaconfield Kingcraft Another quality tri of 6 yrs, nothing flashy, very soundly constructed & pleasing to go over.Has a handsome head, compact well knit body, balanced angulation & sound in his movement. She is very feminine, of an ideal size, very neat & compact, is beautifully balanced & lovely to go over, most beautiful head with melting expression, carried proudly on nicely arched neck, with firm level topline, she excels in her forehand construction, is well ribbed back to firm short loin, good turn of stifle & well angulated quarters, has well set stern carried correctly, good bone & neat feet. She comes into her own on the move & carries herself so well, is very sound , good footfall with reach & drive. An excellent showgirl, pleased with her performance in the Group Ring. 2 Goldberg.
