 I was grateful and honoured to receive the wonderful entry of Rough Collie at LKA 2024.

I was pleased with the overall quality of my entry especially my winners, and thank all the exhibitors for their support.

 Some things I think worth mentioning, I was concerned with the small eyes of some exhibits.                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Also, in some, size, numbers and placement of teeth are a problem.                                                                                                         Poor movement overall disappointed, some caused by lack of fitness and muscle condition as much as conformation.                                                                                                                                                                                               Being positive, the breed does have sufficient quality in depth to progress with sensible breeding plans to eradicate the concerns highlighted.

Class 1448 MPD (7 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: 3653 ROSS, Mr Paul Samshernik Majestic Boy a very smart 6-month-old sable/white male who has a very attractive appearance and looks to have all the basics, proportions and balance to grow on into a quality adult. Very attractive head and having a friendly, alert expression and responsive ears. True in front, well boned with pleasing body cover. Presented a very satisfying picture both standing and moving. Moved with good front action and in typical puppy style. He is pleasing in bone and body and presents a quality standing side profile.

2nd: 3576 ALLSOPP, Mrs Hazel & ALLSOPP, Miss ISABELLE Aqualita Majestic another well-made 6-month-old shaded sable/white male of similar qualities to 1st. He has an attractive look and was presented in commendable coat and condition. Attractive head both in shape and expression. True and well-boned in front, nicely developed body with moderate hindquarters. Moved with a steady action which I preferred to 3rd.

Class 1449 PD (6 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 3613 GEDDES, Mr J N & Mrs V Ingledene Absolute Legend a striking 11-month-old well grown young Tri male who has a handsome breed typical head. Alert and attentive. Pleasing overall appearance with desirable size, proportions and balance. He has excellent bone and body with a pleasing coat although not yet in full bloom. Impressive on the move especially in side gait displaying extension and drive. My Best Puppy in Breed.

2nd: 3610 FOY, Mrs O & HAWKINS, Mr B Beldones Ivory Star an eye-catching sable 10-month-old who presents a striking picture. He has pleasing size and overall body proportions. Handsome head shape but preferred eyes of 1st. Well-made true front, nicely developed body and stable, moderately angled, good width hindquarters. Moved with a true action in front although a little close behind.

3rd: 3638 MCCARTE, Mrs M & Mr J Roughrigg Rags'n'riches

Class 1450 JD (6 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 3693 WILLIAMS, Mrs Jo Mejola Top Gun JW a 17-month-old sable/white male of beautiful appearance. He stands over the ground well presenting a striking, well balanced and well-proportioned picture. Handsome, breed typical head of pleasing shape and proportions with good eyes and expression. Well-made in front, body and hindquarters. Better mover of the class. My Reserve Dog CC winner.

2nd: 3591 COLLINO, Miss D M Imaginist A Griffin's Mark a 15-month-old Tri male who is attractive in appearance having a balanced profile and desirable proportions height/length. He has a head and expression I liked better than 3rd and having an alert expression and responsive ears. True front, good elbows and satisfactory body length with enough spring and depth and nicely let down hindquarters. Free moving though a little close hocked in rear action.

3rd: 3671 ROWLINSON, Mrs Pamela Hanvale Alexander Mcqueen

Class 1451 YD (5 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 3588 BLAKE, Mr John Corydon Christopher a 2-year-old impressive sable/white male who was presented in excellent coat and condition. Handsome head, pleasing eyes, ears and expression. Noteworthy conformation of body, strong and nicely angled in hindquarters and so satisfyingly in balance and proportion. Stands over the ground with an assured and alert appearance; a male of admirable features and breed qualities. His conformation was endorsed by his true purposeful movement. Pleased to award him the Dog CC and Best of Breed.

2nd: 3671 SWAIN’s  Hanvale Alexander Mcqueen a very attractive 18-month-old sable/white, well coated male who has a breed typical appearance being of good size and shape. Attractive head with pleasing head planes and alert eyes and well-set ears. True, well boned front, well developed body and pleasing angle and strength of hindquarters. A free and easy mover with smooth, steady action which I preferred to 3rd.

3rd: 3664 SKINNER, Miss S Ladnar Makeithappen For Nikal

Class 1452 PGD (11 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 3596 COOPER, Ms Catherine Kelekona Hearts Of Gold JW an eye-catching 2½-year-old rich sable/white male who is elegant in appearance combining both excellent presentation and outline. He has a handsome head, an alert expression with responsive ears. True in front, well-made body with notable tight elbows, and firm moderate hindquarters. Sufficient coat enabling to see his excellent profile. He was overall the better mover of the class and a real contender today.

2nd: 3643 MOORE, Miss Catherine Wicani Heroic Deeds a rising 3-year-old Tri who is striking in appearance and, when standing naturally, presents a balanced, ideal proportioned picture. He is in mature coat and pleasing condition. Attractive head of satisfying shape, proportions and expression; head set on a good length neck. Pleasing conformation in front, body and hindquarters. When standing portrayed a glamorous picture. He has a desirable true front action but was close-hocked in rear action

Class 1453 LD (11 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 3691 WILLIAMS, Mrs Jo Phreelancer Phederal Agent At Mejola a 3½-year-old super Tri male who excels in standing profile appearance. Attractive in head, alert in expression and responsive, correct shaped ears. Very pleasing in size, proportions and balance. He is true in front, firm in body, elegant in topline with moderate, stable hindquarters. Needing to be more settled on the move to gain a top spot today.

2nd: 3644 NEWTON, Mr J C & Mrs S Fiorcara Brave Explorer a mature 6-year-old well-coated sable/white male who has a pleasing outline. He is all in balance, proportion and is attractive in overall appearance. Breed typical in head with well set dark eyes and well-shaped responsive ears. He is well constructed in front, body and hindquarters and pleasing in top-line. Moved well enough in front action, a little close hocked behind but all together better than 3rd.

1st: 3585 BLAKE, Miss M J Corydon The Grandmaster a 4½-year-old well-coated dark sable/white quality male who has an attractive head and an alert expression. True, good width front with tight elbows, firm body with enough spring and is ribbed well-back. Firm topline. Moderate good width hindquarters. Presents a very attractive profile appearance, Free and steady on the move which was the better of this class.

2nd: 3577 ALLSOPP, Mrs Hazel & ALLSOPP, Mr Derek & ALLSOPP, Aqualita Its A Miracle a mature 5 year old Tri male of pleasing quality, shown in good coat presenting a satisfying breed typical picture. Masculine in head, stands well naturally with true parallel front, well-made body having enough spring, depth and length of back with pleasing top line and nicely let down stable hindquarters. Not as settled in movement as 1st.

Attractive head, eyes and dentition for age which I preferred to others. True, well-made front, well bodied and moderate hindquarters. Better mover of the class.

2nd: 3589 BOYLE, Dr Lynda Winifred Barrenclough Heart Of Gold JW a 7-year-old shaded sable/white mature male who is in profuse coat and commendable condition. Smart, clean-cut, masculine breed typical head. Pleasing front, well-made body and hindquarters. Free mover but very close in rear action.

She is well-developed with desirable bone and body. She has a lovely head and eyes of good size giving an attentive, alert expression. Well-made in front, body and hindquarters. She was the better mover in this class and has lots of promise.        2nd: 3660 SHIPP, Mr Robert Paul & SHIPP, Mrs Margaret Tremaro Million Dollar Baby an 8-month-old attractive shaded sable/white youngster who has pleasing development of bone and body. She has the basic structure and shape to mature into a quality adult. Lovely head and gentle but alert expression. Movement was unsettled as with many puppies but importantly for a puppy, she has confidence.

2nd: 3579 BARTRAM, Mr C & Mrs R Ambartr's Dignity And Pride a 7-month-old young shaded sable/white bitch who is attractive both in markings and overall conformation. Pleasing head in shape and expression. She has desirable bone and body and presents an attractive side profile appearance. Movement was unsettled but had purpose and confidence. Another with a very promising future.

1st: 3618 HANSON, Mrs J Mejola The Special One With Jards a well coated 17-month-old shapely sable/white bitch who has a very attractive head both in shape and proportions. Alert eyes and good ears. She has pleasing bone and body with pleasing width, moderately angled hindquarters. Overall, she presents a quality, breed typical picture. At times unsettled in movement but did enough to show she can move better.

2nd: 3687 WELSH, Mrs Brenda Thistlewing Gold Mist a 14-month-old shaded sable/white who is attractive in appearance. She has a lovely head both in shape and proportions. True front, and just enough body although would prefer better depth and tighter elbows. Moderately angled hindquarters. Needing to be more settled on the move to give of her best.

She has a well-made front, pleasing body with adequate spring and length of ribbing, she presents a very attractive profile picture. Firm moderately angled hindquarters. Better mover of this class.

1st: 3680 WALDER, Mrs Hannah & WALDER, Mr Simon Roughrigg Red Lagertha JW a super quality 2-year-old shaded sable bitch who has an eye-catching appearance. For me she is of ideal size, make and shape. Lovely head, true front with good fill-in and width across the chest. Well-made body, spring of rib and length of ribbing, Firm topline and pleasing proportions of body height to length with moderate, strong hindquarters. Free and positive on the move. My Bitch CC winner.

2nd: 3673 TAME, Mrs. Val Gataj Time After Time At Rahlissa a very pleasing quality 2 year old sable/white who is in good coat; standing naturally she showed off her body outline to advantage. She has a lovely shaped head and attractive dark eyes obliquely set, true in front and well boned and bodied with good width and angle of hindquarters. Movement was not as controlled and settled as 1st.

Pleasing head shape length to width of skull, dark eyes and responsive ears which give a breed typical, alert expression. She is well enough made in front, body and hindquarters which combine to present a breed typical appearance. Moved the better of this class.

2nd: 3594 CONGDON, Mr J Aaronwell Able Mabel a 17-month-old well coated shaded sable/white who has an attractive overall shape and general appearance. She has a lovely head and alert, friendly expression. She has pleasing conformation with a plentiful coat and furnishings presenting a satisfying appearance. Well boned and is well-made in front and forequarters and has a good length body which is balanced in angles front and rear. Moved OK when settled but tended to pin slightly.

She has sufficient coat to show off her excellent shape and proportions. She has a beautifully shaped head, dark well-shaped eyes, alert ears and attentive expression. Sound in front, well-made in body, stable and moderately angled in hindquarters and overall, in balance and proportion. A bitch of pleasing conformation and breed qualities. Best mover of the class. My Reserve Bitch CC winner.

2nd: 3607 FLOWER, Mrs Stefani Serenlas Pumpkin Spice JW a 3-year-old shapely bitch who presents a very attractive general appearance. Pleasing head, eyes, ears and attentive expression. Good to go over and note how well she is made in front, body and hindquarters. Needs to be more settled on the move to give of her best.

Well-made in front, well-bodied and moderately angled hindquarters. Commendable condition for her age. Better mover of this class.

2nd: 3666 STEVEN, Miss Stacy Cariadhaf Cookies And Cream For Cambrogan a 9-year-old obviously mature bitch both in coat and body. True in front although could be tighter, plenty of body substance and well angled hindquarters. An enthusiastic mover but needs to be more controlled and settled in action.
