Crufts 2024 ! An experience I only ever dreamed of. I thank the Crufts Committee for my invitation, and I sincerely appreciate and thank everyone who entered and provided a truly international exhibition of Tibetan Terriers. My decisions were accepted graciously by all the exhibitors. I congratulate the breeders of many of the exhibits who showcased their lifetimes work. It was truly an honour and a privilege to have been able to see and judge so much quality. I salute your hard work. For many of the enthusiastic newcomers to the breed, it has given them the opportunity to see many of the dogs and breeders only ever seen on social media and exchange views and experiences. All the experience you saw on display this year came from years of work and we all started somewhere. I would like to say that whilst we saw some fabulous dogs in superb coats, it is not only about the coat it is about having a fabulous dog under it, that is the icing. I was spoilt for choice this year.

I hope you all had safe travels home.

1ST 2496 - Gemaras Rocket Man (Mrs C A Palmer)

All the dogs in this class were not as settled as I would like, but a big occasion with lots of expectation. This dog won on his overall size and make up. Balanced on the stack and excellent to go over with body bone and substance. Head of good proportions. Good shoulder angulation and compact on examination. On the move whilst not entirely settled he showed he was an exciting prospect.

2ND 2498 - Araki Yubetcha (L Pediani) This dog was a very close 2nd to the winner, he is very similar in make-up and is compact with many of the same qualities. On the move he lengthens slightly and has reach and drive. Another dog with a bright future

3RD 2455 - Araki Fibber Magee at Evemylyn (Mr & Miss Hedger & Bourne) Larger and stronger than the first 2, however a well-proportioned dog who excelled on the move. I wrote “ a super dog to go over with excellent shoulders but slightly longer cast” Movement is where he caught my eye.

1ST 2474 - Shamisha’s Black Belt (Mr D Lambert) A dog who was not going to be ignored. On entering the ring, he was the one to beat. On examination he did not disappoint. He should have a great year. Pleased to award him the RCC

3RD 2454 - Araki Devils Gold at Evemylyn (Mr & Miss Hedger & Bourne) This dog would be a winner on another day. So good to go over, nothing to dislike but unfortunately not in good enough coat condition and presentation for top honours. This dog has so much going for him.

399. Tibetan Terrier - Mid Limit Dog

Entries: 7 Absentees: 0

1ST 2393 - Lasang Jumping Jack Flash (Mr R Andrews) this was a very mixed and difficult class to judge, the dogs placed had the body, heart and lung room required. I have judged this dog before and he was not as settled showing inside. That said he looks when standing, longer than tall, but on examination it is not as pronounced. This dog has some of the best features, a well-proportioned masculine head with good eye, a neck flowing into the best of shoulders. Good for body and substance. He has a profuse coat of the correct texture which was not managed as well as it could have been. Has flowing movement at times.

2ND 2484 - Layoli Firecracker at Miksang (Mr P & Mrs C Meakin) A typey dog of good proportions, compact correct for size, body and substance. In profile moved well.

Head of good proportions with well-placed eye and ears A good size and shape with body and balanced angles. Coat whilst not in full bloom is of good quality and is presented to advantage. A dog that has won under me before and he still has such balanced effortless movement with reach and drive. So sympathetically handled.

2ND 2461 - Araki Blinkin Bonkerz (Mr I & Mrs K Kemp) An eye-catching dog in excellent condition. Well, put together and masculine with good body and bone. This dog excels on the move and catches the eye while moving round the ring.

1ST 2448 - Int/multi Ch Falamandus Universal Classics (Ms T. & Ms L. Hakamo & Lehdistö) Wow! was the first thing I said when this class came in, what an honour to judge this all quality lineup of dogs. Many of these dogs have only been seen on social media, they are the best from their respective countries, and it was truly my pleasure to be able judge them.

The class winner had it all going on, Excellent precedes every comment. First was his outline, shape and balance. Head and expression, the finest example to typify the” resolute expression” in the breed standard. Proportions, shape, ear placement and correct dark eye. Correct body Proportions with balanced angulation with excellent ribs, fore chest and well ribbed back. Correct Topline and tailset. This dog flowed around the ring. Profuse coat of correct texture. Expertly handled as usual by his very knowledgeable and talented breeder. It was my absolute pleasure to award this dog the CC and BOS

2ND 2506 - Int/multi Ch Rendez-Vous-With-Ti-La-Shu De La Chapelle Des Anges Ww21 Ew21/22 (Mrs S Rauhut) This dog was a close second and had many of the physical qualities of 1. He shines on the move and is equally expertly handled by one of the best, who consistently exhibits quality dogs from their kennel. I just preferred the expression of 1 but still a dog of the highest quality and presentation.

3RD 2423 - Am Gchp Barnstorm Blue Blood Royalty by Dzine (Mrs D & Mrs M & Ms M & Ms P Planche & Lafler & Demers & Bernardo) This dog is another worthy winner from a very successful Breeder combination. This dog was correct for size and substance. So good to go over but not as compact as the others texture and presentation The best of quality coat This dog however excelled on the move, handled by an expert.

RES 2521 - Ch Datdammdawg at Araki (Imp Swe) (Mrs A & Mr A Sinclair & Barron)

403. Tibetan Terrier - Veteran Bitch

Entries: 11 Absentees: 2

1ST 2507 - Ch Ti La Shu Broadway Babe Ww17 (Mrs S Rauhut) This was a class oozing quality from UK and Europe. The winner was truly outstanding, and it was a lesson in how to show and present. This dog was feminine, balanced and in beautiful condition at nearly 10yrs of age. She was handled so well and was a serious contender for the CC, finally receiving the RCC and truly deserving.

2ND 2457 - Ch Alilah Carmel Ciro at Khyibrang (Mrs J R & Mr A Honey) Before I say anything, I express in interest in this dog, but at no point did it get anything more than she deserved. Her record proves her worthiness. This female is like her father who never let me down in all his years of showing. At 10 ½ yrs of age and bred by one of the best in the UK, sadly no longer active but her work is still evident in today’s dogs. This female has had an illustrious career for her owners and talented young handler, who is one of the future breeder/handlers of our breed in the UK

3RD 2487 - Ch Kyipo's Dramarama at Avaness JW (Mrs V J Meegan) This female, equal to the other 2, oozes quality and like a fine wine has matured into a true beauty. All three at their age are the finest of examples and something for us all to aspire to.

RES 2542 - Baltoro Puss in Boots (Mrs K Willoughby)

VHC 2491 - Ch Ti La Shu Eternal Flame (Mrs D Raimonda Macenskiene)

404. Tibetan Terrier - Minor Puppy Bitch

Entries: 2 Absentees: 0

1ST 2459 - Incalux Making Waves at Nefertari (Mrs R A & Mrs C L & Miss E F Johnson & Johnson Morris & Morris) the first 2 are equally raw feminine puppies. This girl won on freedom of movement; she held her shape with beautiful head carriage. Good head proportions with reverse scissor bite only 1 of a couple exhibited today. Both well behaved but this girl used her angulation better. Steady positive movement covering the ground.

2ND 2416 - Shadeacre Viva La Vida at Dolkar (Imp Swe) (Mr P & Mrs G Williams) Creates a square outline, Great head proportions, feminine. Rather leggy at the moment, generally needs to settle into her frame. Balanced angulation but requires reach and drive. May come with maturity.

405. Tibetan Terrier - Puppy Bitch

Entries: 8 Absentees: 0

1ST 2434 - Unohoo Magical Maddie (Mrs M & Miss A Erskine-Jones & Guy) A mixed class of puppy females. Loved her overall attitude and shape in the ring. Needs to settle in front in general but young and did have moments when she had it all going on. Feminine, lovely proportions, excellent frame and leg length to body ratio. A very promising prospect from this well-known kennel.

2ND 2540 - Jasu-La Dakini Sangmo La Mani (Imp Deu) (Ms A & Mrs V & Ms F Vernall & Vernall & Neum) Caught my eye coming into the ring, probably the best outline in the class when stood. Like the winner needs to settle in front but a pleasure to go over and very typical, with the true typical temperament “ on my terms” loved her.

3RD 2418 - Pippalata Rebel with A Cause (M & J P Coupland-Buckley & Buckley) A very smart girl with the best show temperament, good overall proportions, smaller than other two but had as much character which showed on the move.

RES 2465 - Araki I Am Hot Your Not (Mrs Y Knight)

VHC 2392 - Lasang Fabulous Fanny (Mr R Andrews)

406. Tibetan Terrier - Junior Bitch

Entries: 6 Absentees: 0

1ST 2546 - Djankay Blackberry Silk (Mr P C & Mrs E Wilson) Super feminine females, all with fine qualities and could change places another day. 1. Was super feminine and loved her overall balance especially on the move. A very sweet head and expression with good head proportions, enough body and bone. Balanced angulation used to advantage on the move. Well presented.

2ND 2492 - Silgarhi Any Dream Will Do (Mrs S J Moore) A more mature and equally feminine female who was testing her handler all the way. Super temperament and on examination was so well put together with a very typical head and expression. On the move she excelled, with animation in profile with reach and drive if a little exuberant. Loved her expression.

3RD 2545 - Djankay Black Orchid (Mr P C & Mrs E Wilson) Sister of 1, not quite as settled as the other two. Being handled by someone else to advantage. Many good qualities but needs more time to come together.

RES 2501 - Rogspa Sunbeam (Miss Pettit)

VHC 2414 - Abeloth Classy Jazz (Miss R V Cooper)

407. Tibetan Terrier - Yearling Bitch

Entries: 11 Absentees: 0

1ST 2505 - Araki Wowie Zowie (Mrs J & Mrs T Price & Leese) This class when entering the ring had several stand outs and these three are testament to that. This one when seen stacked has a classic shape, balanced with a superb shape. On examination she did not disappoint with the best of expressions. Beautifully feminine head proportions with strength and good eye. Well placed ears finshing that expression, correct neck into well placed shoulders. Short back with depth and spring of rib. Balanced angulation all used on the move. Coat and presentation the best as you would expect from this handler.

2ND 2428 - Fabulous Teddy´s Way to Rock Jww Ejw (Mrs B. Duranziova) The first to catch my eye when entering the ring. She has all the qualities of the eventual winner , her gleaming coat made for a difficult decision between 1&2. It all came down to movement and in profile unable to split them. Final up and down and decision made. Both of equal quality and will have even brighter futures.

3RD 2438 - Shamisha Miss Aggi Panthus at Jufari (Mrs J D Fairclough) Super feminine and has many of the qualities of the other two. Super feminine with great expression. Moved well and should have a good future.

RES 2524 - Avaness Lights Up Kutula (Mrs C Stuchbury)

VHC 2397 - Kybo Santa Monica (Mrs L & Mr T Bateman)

408. Tibetan Terrier - Post Graduate Bitch

1ST 2452 - Snoanda Boop Oop A Doop (Miss G & Miss N Hearne & Hutchins) A large mixed class, this one stood out for overall shape and balance. Feminine and of good size and substance. Enough body and depth. Well-proportioned with enough bone. In excellent bloom and went so well with her handler.

2ND 2391 - Lasang Been Banged (Mr R Andrews) A very smart, sturdy female. Such a lot to like, her controlled movement and she excelled in profile. A little hesitant and seems to hold back. Lovely proportions with excellent body. Would like to see her again when more positive. I wrote she needs a handler who will go with her, just a thought!

3RD 2510 - Sanchara Where You Belong JW (Mr J & Mrs K Dawson) In between coats on initial inspection. A sturdy well proportioned female with good head proportions and expression. Excellent profile movement handled sympathetically. Needs to settle.

RES 2480 - Pinrow Springtime Star (Mrs C Luckman)

VHC 2527 - Remmus Heighflier Hoshi (Mr & Mrs D Summers)

409. Tibetan Terrier - Mid Limit Bitch

1ST 2419 - Silgarhi Take A Chance On Me (Miss S & Miss F Cross & Neum) A super class with many quality females, this one was a revelation to me. She stood out for overall shape and balance and type. Sturdy well-proportioned body. A super classic expression from a correctly proportioned head, good eye. Correct bite. Did not disappoint on the move if a little exuberant or animated! The best of reach and drive. A glorious picture.

2ND 2503 - Araki Krazie Maizie for Tetsikarma JW (Mrs K & Mr Gvr & Mrs Kj Plummer & Plummer & Bingham) A quality female who always looks the picture. Excels on the move as she is so well put together. In fabulous physical condition and well handled.

410. Tibetan Terrier - Limit Bitch

Entries: 10 Absentees: 2

1ST 2547 - Djankay Starlight Fair (Mr P C & Mrs E Wilson) When this class came in, these placed dogs all stood out in the line. The first 3 came from a similar mold and could change places on another day. This female whilst still maturing and has some way to go had the carriage and movement that I look for. She is ultra feminine with good balanced proportions, feminine head and expression. Enough body and spring of rib but on the slimmer side today. This did not affect her easy flowing balance and movement which ultimately won her the class

2ND 2514 - Khyibrang’s Spanish Eyes with Dejaru (Mrs D Rudderham) Another surprise to me as I have not seen her since a youngster, as she has developed into a super sturdy typey female, with all the qualities of 1. On examination has body and a spring of rib with balanced angulation which she used on the move.

3RD 2466 - Snoanda Morgan Le Fay (Mrs Y Knight) Drew my eye from the first instance and every bit as well put together as 1&2. So good to go over and like the others, developing well. Unfortunately was not as positive on the move today.

RES 2409 - Araki Areu The Queen of Bees for Stylaxian JW (Mr B P Chessell)

VHC 2446 - Kybo Santa Arizona at Quidditch (Ms E Hadlow)

Entries: 13 Absentees: 2

1ST 2422 - Am Gchg Barnstorm One Chance Fancy by Dzine (Mrs D & Mrs P & Ms L & Ms M Planche & Bernardo & Cook & Demers) As in Open dog, this class had varying types but was full of quality from around Europe and the UK. But in the case of this winner, it was America. And what a winner, filled the eye with her overall quality, shape and presentation. What a joy to go over as under that glorious coat is an honest, unexaggerated and well-proportioned female. Her head was well proportioned with the required substance shape and stop. Good eye placement with dark eye. Excellent bite. Ample neck into well placed shoulders, fore chest and depth and body. Well ribbed back. Strong loin. Balanced rear angulation. This was topped off with a master class in movement and handling. It was my pleasure to award her the CC and BOB, and I was proud she went 4th in the Utility Group the best show in the world.

2ND 2508 - Slo/lux/esp/ger/int Ch Ti La Shu Ps I Love You Jww21 Ww22 (Mrs R/l Stark) Another worthy winner, a female I had only seen pictures of. Every bit the quality of 1. In the best of condition and expertly handled. A credit to her breeder.

3RD 2537 - Tetsimi Slave to The Rhythm for Jalren (Mrs R Thurston) A super female to go over, is well put together but did’nt go as well as she can today.

RES 2482 - Myrlea Motown Ink (Ms G & Mr P Marley & Thirlwell)
