A huge thank you to the Officers and committee of Richmond Championship Dog Show for the invitation to judge the Utility Group at this show and to the exhibitors for their attendance. I applaud them given the weather conditions over the weekend. I had an array of quality ambassadors of their breeds and future ones, many of which have won top honours. I shortlisted based on their quality, breed type and showmanship and all were worthy winners, Akita, Boston Terrier, Dalmatian, Japanese Shiba Inu, Lhasa Apso, Miniature Schnauzer, Poodle Standard and Schipperke.

Group 1: 4265 MOORES, Miss R & SPEAKMAN, Miss S & LYNN, Mr J - Ch Sachemic Mischief Managed With Afterglow JW - POODLE (STANDARD) – Bitch

I confess to have seen this female at another show and she gave me goosebumps to see her go around a ring. On examination I found her to be very well put together, still young but correct in so many ways with balance and an outstanding outline which she maintains on the move. I think a collaborative effort and I know handled by one of the best.

Group 2 : 3745 BEVIS, Ms F & BEVIS, C & CORR, R & VENEZIA, K - Ch Stecal's All Guns Blazing - AKITA – Dog - Another successful combination and I can see why, he is all male and a fine example of the breed expertly handled. He is in superb physical condition and such a showman.

Group 3 : 4137 HATTRELL, Mrs S - Ithera In Your Dreams At Khinjan JW - LHASA APSO – Dog - Another super example of his breed in the best physical condition shown in full bloom. Full of type and correct for size and balance.

Group 4 : 4043 DUNHILL-HALL, Miss M - Ch Vormund Xmas Bonus - JAPANESE SHIBA INU – Dog - A super example and in fabulous condition, super to go over and handled by an expert.
