Having been a large part of my life for many years, this is a breed, that is close to my heart, they are beautiful, both to look at, and in their nature. I am always interested to note the various improvements and lesser attributes taking place in the breed when I judge. I have taken note of the fact that the majority of the dogs shown to me today were of good breed type and are of an acceptable size 4-7 lbs. in weight as the standard requires. the heads are very pleasing to the eye and body shape and balance on many was good. The problem that seems to be is mouths the standard states neither showing tongue or teeth. I was told by a very eminent Vet many years ago the mouth gene was a very strong gene that is very difficult to eradicate, so in the case of our breed being flatter faced we need to remain aware of this.
My other observation today was movement a lot of dogs are showing irregular action both in the rear and their front, nothing is perfect as we know but we should always stride for this. Always aim for improvement and be aware of these factors. On a final not presentation on several dogs was poor with staining which distracts from the overall appearance of even the best of dogs. Having made all of these observations I thank the exhibitors for an excellent entry and the privilege of judging all of these dogs.

Jaschin Paw Star.Blk./Wht.A slow to mature puppy , he has a pleasing head and expression good neck and short back he covered the ground well and one who shows good promise for the future ,a little raw at present but what he lacked in maturity he gained in temperament and showmanship.
2 Mrs L Flynn’s Sharlarna Its All About Me At LynJato another youngster who has so much to like he is more mature than the winner his head is very typical broad in skull wide and soft in cushion good length of neck and beautifully balanced in body with a good covering of coat for his age . he is a handful and today didn’t settle and behave himself , but age is on his side.
