COTSWOLD BOXER CLUB CH SHOW 2024 I HAD BEEN LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS APPOINTMENT ALL YEAR AND IT REALLY DIDN'T DISAPPOINT, THE YOUNGER CLASSES HAD QUALITY WHICH MUST BE ENCOURAGING FOR THE FUTURE, BOTH MY OPEN CLASSES WERE SUPERB AND CAN FULLY UNDERSTAND WHY MOST WERE TITLED. PRESENTATION AND CONDITION OVERALL WAS EXCELLENT. IT WAS ALSO VERY NICE TO HAVE A RINGSIDE APPLAUSE EACH CLASS AND VERY SPORTING EXHIBITORS MAKING IT A VERY ENJOYABLE DAYS JUDGING Baby puppy dog 1) BOXANIA ROCK AND ROLL STAR FOR DAERVLISH Just 4.5mths but has good balance and proportions to him already, defined stop with correct muzzle length, good bone, forechest and compact feet,square in outline, short loin, well angled rear with sound steady footfall,has real attitude on the move with a good topline,high set tail, promising. 2) CHELL-JIMBREN ELITE LEGACY AT LUDIC 5mth, slightly rounded skull with ears set well apart, dark eyes with a nice expression, slightly arched neck with a clean shoulder, correct slight slope to the topline, has width in rear, just needs to strengthen in hock, winner was just a bit more collected on the move. VD 1) BROUGH/CAIRNS- CH GALICAR INVESTIGATING WITH LIMUBOX It was a pleasure to go over my first adult male of the entry with quality to him all through, he is a picture of the standard in profile,with his medium size and build, square outline and super proportions and balance, super masculine head but not overdone,tilted nose, neat ears, dark forward facing eyes,excellent bone and feet with a good forechest, clean round neck, arched ribs with short loin,solid condition all through, high set tail, strong rear quarters with vertical hocks, lovely profile mover, lovely type and was in contention for the top spots. MPD 1) CARTER-FARVALLEY MAJOR LUKE AT SUSANCAR I loved this puppy when he entered the ring, up on his toes and fearless with an air of arrogance to him. Really super clean balanced square outline with straight forelegs and the arched compact feet, lovely head and expression, lean skull with slight arch to it and neat well set ears, strong neck, good ribbing for age, short loin, strong topline with high set tail and good buttocks, very balanced and for his age he is very collected on the move. When he came back for best puppy he stood completely four square and looked the part, I’m sure has a bright future ahead. 2) MAIR- MACBARRA ARE YOU READY FOR IT AT GLENAULD Red masculine headed dog, has good width and depth to his muzzle with good lips, dark eyes, moderate neck, straight forelegs, still to tighten in feet and develop in rib, holds his topline with high set tail, strong rear with width in thigh, steady mover, just more immature in body than 1 right now but is a promising puppy. PD 1) BROUGH- LIMUBOX SCOTCH GOLD Mature red muscular dog, I liked his head with correct proportions to his head, defined stop, width and depth to his muzzle, nice quality of lip, ears could be fraction smaller, round strong neck, good forechest with firm bone and feet, needs to drop in chest a little, well developed ribs for age, firm topline, low set hocks, a little wide in front on the move, balanced shape with super condition to him. JD 1) SEENEY- MARANSEEN YOUBETCHA Without wanting to copy and paste the breed standard this really is a medium sized squarely built self assured boxer male with quality throughout to him, lovely head and expression, not overdone but masculine, clean,lean skull, ears well set, dark eyes,super wide muzzle with good depth and nice quality of lip, wide open nostrils, his arched neck and slightly sloping topline give him such a clean outline with a well made front and tight feet,his ribs extend well back with a short loin and correct high set strong tail, well developed rear with strong hocks, on the move he holds his shape and is purposeful with good footfall. On his toes at all times,lovely breed type,to get the opportunity to get my hands on a dog of this quality at this age was a pleasure and I will watch his career with interest. In the challenge he was just as impressive and even with my lovely open dog class I still felt he was the best male and was happy to award him the CC, he really pushed for BOB too but his day will come I’m sure 2) MAIR- SULEZ STRIKER AT GLENAULD Also another nicely made balanced dog with correct proportions. He is a little stronger in head than 1 and would prefer a leaner skull and could have less lip, dark eyes, good width in chest, straight forelegs strong bone, compact feet, excellent ribbing, strong rear with high set tail and good buttocks. Powerful mover with a firm backline, just preferred the head on 1. YD 1) HARE- JIMBREN THE IRISHMAN Medium build with good proportions, he has a defined stop, ok skull, open nostrils, could be a little longer in foreface but has width to his muzzle with good lips and chin, defined nape with good reach of neck, straight forelegs with some fill in front, prefer better lay of shoulder ,needs to develop in rib, holds his topline with correct high set tail, steady mover, well angulated rear, just needs to fill out in the middle 2) MERRITT- DICEULON TOP HAT AND TAILS AT MERQUIN Dark brindle dog, smaller mould than 1,ideally like more bone to him, dark eyes, defined stop, width to his muzzle, slightly rounded skull,nostrils could be wider, like 1 he needs to develop in rib, prefer more compact feet, short loin, good hind angulation,drops off in croup, needs time to mature, not quite as purposeful on the move. ND 1) HUMPHRIES- LANFRESE CANTARO AT CHIRBANNA 2 nice but different dogs here, winner has a clean nicely proportioned head with width and depth to his muzzle, good lips, slight tilted nose, Medium build with a square outline, strong round arched neck, moderate forechest, muscular rear, had good breed points, positive mover. BROWN/HUTCHINGS- WINUWUK GHOSTLY AFFAIR Slightly taller red dog, stronger built than 1, strong bone, dark eyes, has width in skull with defined stop, padded lips, strong neck, bit longer cast in body, high set tail, excellent feet, steady mover but preferred reach on 1 PGD 1) VAN BECK- NEWLAITHE RESPECT JW Masculine but not overdone in head, defined stop with neat ears and dark eyes,strong neck, nice width in front with some forechest, arched ribs, balanced angles front and back, prefer better feet. Short loin with high set tail 2) KAVANAGH- MARBELTON IN THE MIX Moderately built dog, little longer cast than 1, lean clean skull,ears wide set and neat, ok lips, straight forelegs with medium bone,has depth to his chest, slight slope to his back and a gentle tuck up in belly, tailset is high, prefer more width in 2nd thigh, free mover in profile. LD 1) BROWN/HUTCHINGS- WINUWUK WALK IT TALK IT Mixed class to sort out, winner is solid all through, has width to his muzzle, little wide in skull and prefer better ear placement, eyes dark, strong round neck, deep chest with ribs extending well back, short loin, compact feet, strong hindquarters,super muscular condition, high set tail, purposeful mover holding his shape. 2) WOODS- ARKENEY CONQUEROR Nicely headed dog, clean skull, nice expression, padded lips, dark eyes, defined stop, skull slightly arched with ears well set, good lay of shoulder, compact feet, ribs could be more developed and neater in elbow, correct topline with high set tail, free mover in profile, just not as precise in footfall as 1. OD Absolutely super class to judge with depth in quality right through and really had to work my brain to place them in high merit order. 1) MAIR- Ch MACBARRA KICKIN UP A STORM AT GLENAULD JW Loved this dogs shape and balanced clean square outline, he is a male all over but not course in any way, detailed head with good proportions and clean in skull, padded lips, tip tilted nose, neat ears set well, dark eyes, straight forelegs, ribs extend well back with a short muscled loin and correct belly tuck up, strong rear quarters with a high set tail. Holds his shape on the move and covers the ground with a free stride, super condition. Nice breed type, he pushed hard for the top spot but had to give way to the exciting Junior, both very worthy CC winners and no surprise to be told after he has multiple CC. 2) MCCARTHY/GETHING- CH BOXANIA ROMANOFF TO JEDDHI Another top quality dog so well put together, also square in outline, lovely head piece with dark expressive eyes, wide muzzle with good chin and nice quality of lip, deep chest, preferred feet on 1, good bone, compact body with muscled loin, has width in strong rear quarters, close decision, just preferred the powerful movement on 1 but a worthy champions for sure Baby puppy bitch 1) CARTER- XANDENE WILMA FACELIFT AT SUSANCAR Promising youngster, good leg length, feminine head with lovely eye and expression, slightly arched top skull,good lips, has some forechest with straight forelegs and neat feet, arched neck, liked her shape and balance, needs to settle in topline but lots to like and steady on the move 2) BROUGH/CAIRNS- JIMBREN LASTING LEGACY WITH LIMUBOX A very confident collected puppy, like 1 is feminine in her head with some width of muzzle, nice eyes, moderate neck, ribs could be longer, good topline, feet need to tighten, lovely profile movement where she uses herself well. 2 nice pups VB 1) BROWN/HUTCHINGS- CH WINUWUK LOOKING FOR LOVE Super proportions and balance to her head,feminine throughout, defined stop, tip tilted nose with good open nostrils,padded lips, lean skull, round neck, excellent bone with good forechest ,hold her topline with high set tail , very balanced all through, positive mover with reach and drive 2) SPENCER- ASHRONSHA WILDEST DREAMS Square in outline, little finer in bone than 1, good shape, lovely head with nice width and depth of muzzle, good lips, ears well set, clean neck, slight slope to her topline with high set tail, prefer better feet, good condition. Winner just has bit more strength in rear, steady mover, MPB 1) VAN BECK/TAYLOR- CRIME SQUAD NEWLAITHE A very nicely put together youngster with correct proportions and balance to her already, feminine head, defined stop, lovely dark eyes, good muzzle and lips, clean neck Nicely made front, feet still to tighten,good topline, nice buttocks with high set tail, very collected 2) MACDONALD- YETEB LITTLE MISS SPLENDID Just 6mths and had lots of quality, giving a lot away against 1 but whilst she is raw she is balanced in her head with a feminine expression, square in outline and very collected on the move, will be interesting to see her develop and mature next year. PB 1) MCCARTHY/GETHING- LORROSA MY HEADS BEEN TURNED TO JEDDHI Very balanced with correct body/leg proportions, detailed feminine head, has width to her muzzle with defined stop with good skull, tilted nose, good bone with straight forelegs, deep chest for age, correct slope to topline with moderate rear hindquarters, positive mover 2) FAY SMITH- LOROSSA MY TYPE ON PAPER Little more gangly in body than 1 but has similar qualities to winner, just more immature in body, good dark eyes, slightly arched skull with ears well set, feet need to tighten, has some fill in front, moderate rear,low set hocks, just needs time but has breed type. JB 1) DRINKWATER- SULEZ SMASHEDIT These 2 typey bitches are of super quality and not only are similar in type but could swap places on another day. Lovely shape with a square outline and good proportions, has length to her head with correct muzzle and skull proportions , clean skull, ears set wide, clean cheeks, padded lips with nice width in muzzle, strong neck with a well made front and depth to her chest, high set tail, nice buttocks, very sound on the move with a high set tail. 2) SEENEY- MARANSEEN SERENDIPITY Much on 1 applies to 2, she has a little more bone to her but is a fraction longer in loin than 1, alert and really on her toes, expressive dark eyes, tilted nose, super clean outline where she holds her topline all times, just preferred tailset on 1. Positive mover where she places her feet well. YB 1) HARE- JIMBREN QUEEN OF TARTS Won the class for her correct square outline and soundness throughout, good head and expression, defined stop, forward facing dark eyes, ears could be smaller but set well, nicely made front with compact feet, moderate neck, firm topline with high set tail, could have more width in 2nd thigh. 2) FAY-SMITH - LORROSA MISSY ELLIOT Slightly stronger in head than 1, prefer flatter cheeks and less wrinkle , good lips, strong round neck,excellent bone and feet, strong rear angulation and tailset, positive mover but preferred the style on 1 NB 1) BROWN/HUTCHINGS- WINUWUK GHOSTLY AFFAIR Solid framed junior, has depth to her muzzle, moderate stop, ears set wide, flat and high, muscular neck, deep chest, could have little more leg length, good underline , short loin, liked her width in rear quarters, strong vertical hocks, purposeful mover. 2) EDISON- LANFRESE AGINO AT VIZAGE Medium built balanced bitch, pleasing head with lean skull and high set ears, defined stop, not overdone in lip, straight forelegs, has depth to her chest, would like more strength in her rear, outgoing mover. PGB 1) DRINKWATER- SULEZ TEASER Very balanced well made bitch, clean detailed head with expressive dark eyes, has good width of muzzle with nice chin, well made front, deep chest, good bone,compact feet, ribs extend well back, strong slightly sloping topline, lovey type, sound mover but isn’t as alert on the move with the runner/handler 2) HUMPHRIES- CHRIBANNA GOOD TIMIN Smaller framed to 1 ,compact body, good depth to her muzzle, skull is lean with well set ears but could be little smaller,a little straight in shoulder, compact feet, sloping topline but a little too tucked up in belly, high set tail, moderate rear. Not as free flowing as 1 on the move. LB 1) BROUGH- WINUWUK NEW TRICKS AT LIMUBOX very balanced well made bitch, square outline, clean skull with slight wrinkle when alert, distinct stop with good quality of lip,pronounced chin,expressive eyes, string round neck, has width to her chest, straight forelegs with arched compact feet, balanced moderate front and rear construction which she uses well on the move, firm muscular condition, low set hocks 2) FLINTOFF- BOXANIA MAKE ME SMILE Another nice typical example, detailed head, good skull with ears set wide and neat in size, liked her width of jaw with defined chin and good lips, open nostrils with tilted nose, round arched neck just preferred front and forechest on 1, ok feet, square in outline with high set tail , good buttocks with angular rear, holds her shape on the move. OB 1) BROWN/HUTCHINGS- CH WINUWUK SILENT WITNESS Like OD this was an exceptional class to judge with depth in quality to the whole class, I really enjoyed judging this class and sorting them out. I would happily have awarded a cc to any of my placings in this class it was that good. Today's winner is such a balanced example of the breed, medium build,the cleanest of outlines from the top of her nose to her tailset, excellent body/leg proportions with a square outline. I loved her head piece, she is feminine but still has strength to her head without being coarse, a clean lean skull with moderate wrinkle when alert, right amount of length to her foreface which has width and depth to it, good quality of lip and chin, dark forward facing eyes, Very well constructed which is evident to all when she moves where she holds her shape and covers the ground, compact feet to go with her correct bone, well ribbed with a short loin, hard muscular condition and on her toes at all times. In the challenge she was as impressive and happy to award her the CC and just pipped an exciting young dog for BIS. 2) BANKS- CH SUNHAWK NORWATCH TALULAH Another top quality bitch with many of the same virtues as 1, lovely expression with dark eyes and rims, clean skull,good chin with tip tilted nose and nice width of jaw, defined stop, little more lip than 1, strong round arched neck, has fill,in front with a deep chest and well developed ribs,straight forelegs , slightly sloping topline with a high set tail, just preferred the front on 1,she is a really positive powerful mover in profile where she holds her topline well, high set tail, nice buttocks, well muscled hindquarters with short hocks, full of breed type and a very worthy champion.RCC.
