WKC Gundog group 24 It was lovely to have a big ring to cast my eye over the BOB gundogs. I shortlisted 8, The Am cocker spaniel, Curly coat retriever, Spanish Water dog and English Springer Spaniel. My final 4 placings was: Gp 4: Labrador,CASEY, Mr E & JAYES, Mrs E - Sh Ch Lapema Masquerade At Sandylands A feminine bitch, has width to her skull with a defined stop and an intelligent look to her, clean cheeks, strong neck, well made front with well sprung ribs holding her level back at all times, thick tail carried well, nice type to her. Gp 3: Irish setter, ELLRICH, Miss Rebecca - Sh Ch Ir Sh Ch Gwendariff Absolutely Marwe'llus, Eyecatching dog in tip top muscular and coat condition, super head and expression with a refined look to him.lovely eye, long arched neck with a good front assembly to him.I loved his clean head, neck and backline with the typical tailset just below the level of back, angular rear which he uses to the max on the move. Gp 2: Cocker spaniel, HILLIER, Mr I & HILLIER, Mrs S - Sh Ch Coedcernyw Calendar Girl JW A super example of the breed, cleanly chiseled head piece, So well constructed throughout with correct bone and substance, excellent ribcage and short loin giving her the correct cobby body, her tail never stopped wagging showing herself to the max whilst still holding her classic outline. Gp 1: Pointer, SIDDLE, Miss Amelia & SIDDLE, Mrs Annette & MEDEIR - Wilchrimane Frankly Darlin To win groups dogs need that bit extra, the X factor that makes me feel the need to look that bit more at than anyone else and today this pointer bitch did just that. She has that symmetry and gracefulness standing and for sure has the endurance and speed to go with that on the move, well proportioned head piece with a defined stop and slightly dish faced appearance, a lovely chest to go with her oval bone. Well angled rear and the desired tapered tail which she holds so correctly on the move, like my other placed dogs she is in super condition and that along with her smooth driving rear gave her to the top spot.
