Breed: Dachshund (Miniature Smooth Haired)

Dachshund (Miniature Smooth)

Puppy Dog (3):

1 Mrs F Hanney-Mitchell’s Bronia Daimmen. Promising pup having a pleasing head of good proportions, good front, enough depth of chest for age, lovely outline with well kept topline and well-constructed hind quarters, sound mover. BP.

2 Mr S Fleming’s Brogansian Fleetwood. Liked his head and correct front. Had the better hind quarters in this class, but preferred the body and especially the topline of the winner. Very smart dog, moved correctly fore and aft.

3 Benzden Bergamot of Monrateckel.

Junior Dog (3):

1 Mr M & Mr M Spall & Clark’s Llapsttam Sebastian. Compact b&t of a nice size whilst still maturing and developing still only young. Good shoulders and lovely topline into sound hindquarters. Nice front with good depth of chest. Moved very well.

2 Mr S & Mrs L & Miss K Cummings & Blevins & Blevins’ Blevwil Buzz Lightyear. Liked his head and outline, didn’t impress in movement today.

3 Bhailekernon Ned Kelly.

Graduate Dog (1):

1 Ms B Morrison’s Benzden Kouros. 3 yr old B&T, with correct head having the right proportions. Good depth of chest, would have preferred a wider front and a firmer topline, and would have also liked to see more drive coming from behind.

Open Dog (5):

1 Mr L & Mrs L Cross & Black’s Ch Riowood Red Boots JW. A truly balanced dog. Lovely type that caught my eye immediately. lovely head and eye, correct ear set into nicely arched neck. Correct shoulder arrangement and good front, tight elbows. Good length of ribcage, short loin. Lovely hindquarters moving correctly fore and aft. Showed and handled well. Delighted to award him the CC.

2 Mrs R & Mr C Williams & Moes’ Ch Cwmdarhian Joe Calzghe. Gorgeous B&T, A really nice type with balance and of correct size. Good head and eye, good reach of neck that flowed into correctly angulated shoulders. Prominent pro sternum and nice depth of keel. Tight elbows, good ribbing, preferred hind movement of winner. (Res CC)

3 Bronia Gabriel for Wakywilks JW.

4 Chrishane Kyprius (IKC).

5 Ballinacorbeg Think Tank.

Special Beginners Dog (1):

1 Miss C & Mr A Wilkinson & Wakeham’s Bronia Donatello for Wakywilks. Liked his head and general outline, however his front movement wasn’t at its best, throwing elbows out in movement.

Puppy Bitch (2):

1 Miss C & Mr A Wilkinson & Wakeham’s Wakywilks Celestial. B&T bitch of correct size, very promising, excellent femminine head and expression, good chest and brisket, loved her front and back assemblies, correct topline, best mover in class.

2 C Reynolds’ Glenariff Zesta. Very smart red bitch, again with a good feminine head, lovely neck and shoulders, well ribbed, needs to develop chest and brisket.

Junior Bitch (2):

1 Mrs F Hanney-Mitchell’s Bronia Blayze. Good femminine head having the right proportions, gorgeous expression and good front and rear assemblies, good ground clearanc, strong hind quarters with nice hocks and sound movement.

2 Mrs L A & Miss K Blevins’ Blevwil Trixie. Another good bitch having a fabulous body outline with good topline and excellent front and back assemblies. Splitting decision, the winner having the edge on head quality.

Novice Bitch (1):

1 Miss C & Mr A Wilkinson & Wakeham’s Bronia Bijoux for Wakywilks. 12 month old which needs to settle down, couldn’t be handled on the table, would also have preferred a better topline. Good mover.

Limit Bitch (4):

1 Mrs M & Miss O Dalton’s Beachdax About Damn Time. Very smart and femminine brindle, having a gorgeous head with correct eye shape and color, lovely front & chest, great topline which she kept on the move. Loved her strongly built and angulated hindquearters, which was her winning factor here. (Res CC)

2 Mr S Fleming’s Brogansian Gingerella. 2 yr old red again having a sweet femminine head, not quite as well-bodied as winner which also had a better hind assembly.

3 Gellijam Midnight Lady of Mabeldax.

4 Benzden Allure over Riversett.

Open Bitch (6):

1 Mrs R & Mr C Williams & Moes’ Ch Cwmdarhian Cold As Ice. Gorgeous red which caught my eye the minute she stepped into the ring. Classy, lovely type and presented beautifully. Great flowing lines, best head I’ve seen today, strong jawline, lovely dark eye, super expression. Excellent in chest, brisket and underline. Stunning outline both stacked and on the move, super well angulated hindquarters – moved with purpose and drive. Loved everything about her. Delighted to award her CC & BOB. Happy to see her winning Reserve Best in the Hound Group later on in the evening.

2 Ms A Morton’s Monra Palace Sweet Angel. Lovely solid brindle with a good femminine head, good front and back assemblies, sound mover.

3 Ir Ch Glenariff Xtraordinare.

4 Mabeldax Festive Wish.

Special Beginners Bitch (2):

1 Wakywilks Celestial. (Best SB) Repeat.

2 Mrs S De Lacey’s Mabeldax Festive Wish. Preferred the front assembly and movement of the winner in this class.
