Southern Counties Canine Association

Breed: Norwich Terrier

PUPPY DOG (1)

1. Inett, Harrison & Crawley’s Ragus Silver Gilt. A lovely quality 10-month-old puppy. Of good substance, producing a super outline. Head of very good proportions, with broad, slightly rounded skull. Dark eyes and erect, well-set ears. Good neck flowing into angulated shoulders. Excellent straight forelegs, who moved straight. Back appeared a little long, but I’m sure when he bodies up it will look correct. Level topline. Strong, muscled hindquarters with good turn of stifle and tail set. Moved very well. Super hard coat for a puppy. BEST PUPPY & RESERVE BEST DOG.

OPEN DOG (2)

1. Crawley & Baldwin’s Ch. Ragus Punch Bowl. What can be said about a very worthy champion that has done so much winning. He is so balanced and well-constructed, producing a wonderful outline and movement. Excellent head proportions. Correct length of neck into well laid shoulders. Super bone and very well-built body. Short backed and well angulated hindquarters. Side movement a dream, with good extension, straight fore and aft. His movement is quite outstanding for this breed, which he emphasizes in the ‘big ring’. Coat and presentation are superb, as expected from this kennel. I was pleased he was shortlisted in the Terrier Group. BEST DOG & BEST OF BREED.

PUPPY BITCH (4)

A lovely class of bitch puppies.

1. Smith’s Javidel Pillow Talk. A lovely, very promising bitch puppy, so well-constructed, producing an excellent outline. Correctly proportioned head, with slightly rounded skull of adequate width. Strong neck into excellent lay of shoulders, level topline, short back, level topline, well-muscled hindquarters and good turn of stifle. Moved very well, with drive. Hard coat coming well. BEST BITCH.

2. Dragon & Tate’s Noragad Fun Run TAF. I felt this puppy bitch will be a star one day, I will watch her progress with interest. She is only just 6 months old. A sweet youngster with a lovely terrier attitude. Everything in the right place, head, ears, shoulders, level topline, developing hindquarters, coat, still very much a baby. She moved out well.

3. Haynes’ Alantro Regel Jewel.

JUNIOR BITCH (2)

1. Watkins’ Baktwins Only Believe. Rather over weight for me, which was a shame, even for a Norwich. I found it difficult to assess her movement, but what I did see was perfectly all right. Well presented, as expected from this kennel. Excellent hard, wiry, straight topcoat with undercoat. RESERVE BEST BITCH & BEST JUNIOR.
