Many thanks to Leila and her committee for inviting me to give CCs in this breed for the first time. I was delighted with the quantity and quality of the exhibits. Also, I was pleased some of my top winners were shortlisted/placed in their respective Terrier groups. The showground was superb, it was a very well-organized show and I had excellent stewards.
JUNIOR DOG (2)
1. Bishop’s Ulmo Bohemia Des Hauteurs De La Sole at Kyntilly (Imp Fra). Nice, well-muscled dog of correct rectangle shape. Lovely masculine head, relatively long, of blunt triangular shape, with distinct stop. Nice eyes and ears set close to cheeks. Strong neck. Correct topline, rising slightly to well-arched loin, held whilst standing and on the move. Nice propulsive movement.
2. Pearson’s Winoski Aemond. Good head and eyes. Muscular, well laid shoulders. Elbows free moving. Nice straight, strong, forelegs. Correct topline, which he held on the move. His temperament let him down on the day, which was a shame.

LIMIT DOG (2)
1. Bishop’s Moraira Abel at Kyntilly. A very nice well-made and well-muscled dog. Strong, long head, good eyes with friendly expression. Elegant neck. Well laid shoulders, elbows free moving, forelegs straight and strong boned, giving a good fore chest. Nicely bodied, with correct topline, held on the move. He moved very well, flexing strong hocks. Super coat, slightly wavy with silky sheen, completed the picture.
2. Goodwin’s Placido Proper Player. A good all-round type, but just not the style and presence of the one above on the day. Good head with expressive ears and eyes. Nicely constructed and presented well with a smart coat. Moved OK.
OPEN DOG (4)
1. Tobijanski’s Ch Janski O’rolox JW. An easy winner of the class and Best of Breed. I thought he was absolutely fabulous, as expected from this kennel. Beautifully presented, with every hair in place. Well-made and well-muscled, with an outgoing personality. Masculine, relatively long head, slightly arched skull, distinct stop, correctly placed ears and good dark friendly eyes. Powerful neck, good lay of shoulders, super straight, strong boned fore legs. Correct topline, ribs well sprung and powerful hindquarters. Propulsive movement, brisk and vigorous with plenty of drive. Super coat. He represented the breed very well in ‘the big ring’ and I was very pleased he was shortlisted. DOG CC & BEST OF BREED.
2. Burrage’s Sametova Bacary. Another very nice type of Cesky dog, having a very attractive colour. Good length of head, with slightly arched skull, distinct stop, well set ears carried close to the cheeks. Friendly expressive eyes, good nose and correct scissor bite. Good neck leading to well laid shoulders and straight, strong-boned forelegs. Well sprung ribs, cylindrical body, correct topline, well arched loin, slight tuck up, strong, muscled hindquarters, which he used well, to move briskly around the ring. RESERVE DOG CC.
3. Fewings’ Komidion Schubert.
4. Taylor’s Ch Oural Du Champ D’eole.
VETERAN DOG (1)
1. England & Burrage’s Ch Ashleyheaths Black Thunder ShCM ShCEx VW. One of my all-time favorite Cesky Terriers and I do not expect I am on my own. He always had so much character and showmanship. His movement was one of his best attributes, which took him so far especially in later years. At 11 years old, he can still hold his own in the show ring, only just starting to show his age. He is still eye catching, matching the breed standard exactly. Super head and ear set. Straight, strong-boned forelegs. Lovely body, well sprung ribs, with rise over the loin, producing a well-muscled, rectangular outline. He still moved very well for his age. He always was such a credit to his owners. He was shown a lot and obviously loved every minute. Always presented in tip top condition of coat and body. I feel very honoured and sad to have been the last breed judge to go over him. Unfortunately, he became unwell competing in the Veteran Terrier ring and had to be withdrawn. He struggled on with great care from his owners but has now trotted over the ‘rainbow’ bridge. His owners must be devastated. BEST VETERAN.
SPECIAL BEGINNERS DOG (1)
1. Goodwin’s Placido Proper Player. SEE ABOVE. BEST SPECIAL BEGINNERS.
MINOR PUPPY BITCH (2)
1. Tobijanski’s Janski Zara Zipporah. A lovely 8-month-old puppy bitch, that should have a very bright future. Well-made and super outline. Quality feminine head, slightly arched skull, really super ears, set on high and carried close to cheeks. Friendly, expressive eyes. Good length of neck. Well laid shoulders and straight, nicely boned forelegs. Correct topline, ribbed well back and good loin. Good cylindrical body. Very good hindquarters. Moved very well with plenty of propulsion. A little apprehensive on the day, but still quite young. BEST PUPPY.
2. Fairfield’s Janski Zelda. Litter sister to the above, with similar attributes. She did not seem to be very happy on the table and did not show herself off so well, which was a shame.

LIMIT BITCH (4)
1. Pratt’s Proxima Centauri. By far the best in this class. A real quality bitch, who I thought was good enough to be a champion. I was pleased to award her a second CC. She excelled in breed type, construction and outline. Quite a super, strong, relatively long head. Slightly arched skull and distinct stop. Lovely triangular ears, high set, carried close to her cheeks and expressive eyes. Good length of neck into well-placed shoulders. Super straight, well boned forelegs and correct feet. Lovely topline, well ribbed up and well arched loin. Correct slight tuck up. Well-muscled hindquarters and correct tail set. She was presented in lovely condition, muscled, with the correct coat texture which completed the picture. She moved very well with plenty of drive. BITCH CC.
2. Burrage’s Komidion Sonata for Sametova JW. Another very nice bitch who was not belittled by coming second. Many of the attributes of the above apply to this bitch as well. She was very well made and presented a superb outline. With a change of handler, she was not as positive and confident as the first placed bitch. With not so much head furnishings, it tended to make her head appear shorter than some.
3. Goodwin’s Placido Oriana.
4. Pearson’s Zvonenka Hamentashen at Winoski (imp Cze).
OPEN BITCH (4)
1. Tobijanski’s Ch Janski Yamizzabi Witch JW. A lovely bitch, well-made and well-muscled. Beautiful head of correct length, breath, and strength. Correctly placed triangular ears, carried close to her cheeks and medium sized dark eyes giving friendly expression. Lovely neck flowing into strong well laid shoulders. Elbows free moving. Forelegs straight and strong boned. Correct topline, which was held well during moving. Nicely sprung ribs and slight tuck up. Moved briskly and well with her tail carried correctly for the breed. Presented in excellent muscle tone and coat. RESERVE BITCH CC.
2. Fewings’ Komidion Rhapsody in Ryme. Another quality bitch of a lovely type and outline. Long head forming a blunt long, broad triangular shape, with slightly arched skull. Medium sized, rather deep-set eyes giving friendly expression. Well placed triangular ears. Super neck of good length, elegant and strong. Correct cylindrical body and toplne. Strong, well-muscled hindquarters and good turn of stifle. It was a shame she was not more animated on the move.
3. Burrage’s Ch Komidion Prima Donna of Sametova ShCEx VW.
GOOD CITIZEN DOG SCHEME BITCH (1)
1. Goodwin’s Placido Oriana. A very nice type of feminine bitch, well balanced and of correct proportions, providing a nice outline. Good head with correct ear carriage. Well made, with good forequarters and hindquarters. Body of medium length, with topline rising slightly to well-arched loin. Moved well. Presented in excellent condition.
