Breed: Welsh Terrier

OPEN DOG (1)

1. O’Connell’s Darwyn The Best is Yet To Come. A smart dog well handled. Correct masculine ‘brick’ shaped head. Well placed small, dark eyes. Super V shaped, small ears set on fairly high. Moderate length of neck. Square body silhouette with short back and well-set tail. Moved out soundly. Small cat-like feet. Presented in good condition and super wiry, hard coat. BEST DOG.

VETERAN (1)

1. Watkin-Jones’ Little Blossom of the Sky. Not co-operating with her owner/handler today. I have seen her look and act a lot better. Now ten years old, with age beginning to catch up on her. Feminine all through with neck of good length and topline a little slack. Good tail set and carriage. Shown in good order with a hard, wiry jacket. BEST VETERAN.

POST GRADUATE BITCH (2)

1. O’Connell’s Letoha Unforgettable Anna. This bitch had a very nice well proportioned ‘brick’ shaped head with flat moderately wide skull between the ears. Eyes small and expressive. Super V shaped small ears, well set high on head. Moderate length of slightly arched neck sloping gracefully into well laid shoulders. Square body with short back that was a little slack at times. Muscled hindquarters and well set tail, carried correctly. Wiry, hard coat. RESERVE BEST BITCH.

2. Watkin-Jones’ Westpenn Just for You. Feminine throughout, having a true Welsh terrier compact outline. Moderate length of slightly arched neck. Tail carried over the back somewhat. Moved OK. Good depth of colour. Super wiry, hard close coat. Nice overall type, just lacked the style of the above.

OPEN BITCH (1)

1. Davies’ Diamond Crown. A smart, well balanced, compact Welsh Terrier bitch. Correct well balanced ‘brick’ head. Flat skull and small, dark eyes. Heavier V shaped well set ears. Correct length of neck sloping gracefully into well laid shoulders. Straight forelegs of ample bone. Square shaped outline with short back. Good depth and moderate width of chest. Strong, muscular hindquarters with hocks bent and well let down. Correct tail set. Moved very well with good reach in front and drive from the rear. Wiry, hard, very close coat. BEST BITCH & BEST OF BREED.
