1st) Deizi The Deys of Our Lives (Mr M & Miss E Dey) a very smart & rather wayward, full of fun puppy to start the day. Good head and eye, beautiful expression and lovely pigment. Good neck and shoulder, and well bodied for his age. Tail set and carried correctly and he was in good coat of the correct texture. Some apricot in his coat just yet, which is perfectly acceptable. Sound on the move with some accuracy, just needs a little time to get himself together. BPD.

1st) Wolimorb Cosmic Star over Dixido (Mrs F Reid), quite an attractive youngster. Good head and eye, he is very expressive & full of charm. Well made in front, good shoulders; firm chest & correct topline. In excellent condition and very good to go over. Quite accurate up and back, but not to the level of Rumour Has It. Enjoys his time in the ring and looked particularly good in profile, carrying himself well. Good pigmentation and he was very well presented. RBD.

1st) Deizi Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie (Mr M & Miss E Dey), stylish dog with a lot to like. Presents a very good picture on the table, indeed he is very good to go over. Good head and expression, though I didn’t think he had the intense beauty there as the two I put over him in the challenge. He is, however, a very well made and well-constructed dog and used himself well on the move. Sound and accurate and presented in a good jacket.

1st) Ch Pamplona Rumour Has It (Mr R & Mr M Smith & Coad), a very striking and most attractive dog who is very difficult to fault. Beautiful head and glorious dark eyes with haloes, so correct and full of expression. Excellent neck and shoulder, super return of upper arm & his legs are set well under him. Firm topline & correct tail set. He uses himself so well on the move, very accurate up and back and really carries himself with such reach and freedom on the move, he is very hard, if not impossible, to overlook. Quite a stallion in his outlook to life and I don’t think he realises he is a toy dog! In the peak of body condition and first-rate muscle. Super coat, excellent pigmentation & a real pleasure to judge. Loved him. BD, BOB & shortlisted in the Group.

Puppy Bitch

1st) Wattlemeade Blue Sapphire (Mrs A Robinson), two puppies here at very differing stages of development despite there not being all that much between them in age. Not a lot to separate them in terms of head and expression and they were both quite good in that department. Having moved them around twice, first with Little Secret in front and then Blue Sapphire in front, I opted for the more balanced outline of Blue Sapphire on the day. Notwithstanding that, I do think they could change places many times and Little Secret too should finish up very well. Both put down in first class order and well pigmented.

2nd) Milliearrana Little Secret at Lucakenzal (Miss S L Larkin), see above.

1st) Pamplona Nina Simone (Mr M Coad), fell in love with this precocious junior as soon as I saw her; she is ultra feminine and pretty and she knows it! Such a beautiful head and expression, with Rumour Has It the best two of the day I thought. Excellent neck and shoulder and in first rate body condition. So lovely to go over and she is really well knit and shapely. On the move she goes with youthful enthusiasm, but her accuracy and precision are difficult to fault. When it came to the challenge for BOB, I really wondered if I would end up putting her over Rumour Has It, but on the day his finish & calmer, more experienced manner got the nod. In six months’, time, I may have them differently! A beautiful youngster, BB and BOS.

2nd) Wattlemaede Mazikeen at Cartike (Ms J & Mr P Pike & Carter), not disgraced by being second here and she too is a very nice and promising young bitch. Really liked her head and eye, lovely pigment and shape to her skull. Well balanced and she is very good to go over, well bodied and in good condition. Firm and sound on the move and she holds her shape, just not quite so stylish on the move, particularly in profile as Nina Simone but another good bitch.

1st) Wattlemaede Biddy (Mrs A Robinson), I can’t imagine any of these three will be in PG for very long and very minor details separated them. I liked the head and expression of the winner, and her pigment was excellent. Very good to go over, well made in front and behind, and particularly well-muscled throughout. It was her profile movement that won her this class, as she carried herself with an air of self-assuredness and went with good ease and freedom, even if she could have been a mite more accurate up and back. In a good jacket, well presented and handled well.

2nd) Cartikes After Midnight JW (Ms J & Mr P Pike & Carter), another very smart bitch from this breeder with lots to like. In some ways I preferred the femininity of her head to the winners, and she is very expressive there with good pigment. Not quite the shoulder angulation of the winner and this was apparent on the move, both coming back to me and in profile; notwithstanding that, she is a very good bitch who I imagine will have many good days. Very well presented in a good jacket and well pigmented.

3rd) Ashoka Copacobana (Mr D V & Mrs S A Walklate), completed a trio of lovely bitches.

1st) Ch Beausox Miss Ohara (Mrs A Venables), a very understated bitch who I thought was a class act. Beautiful head and expression, gorgeous pigment and super haloes. Well laid shoulder and good return of upper arm, firm topline and well made in body. Stands on good legs and feet; and she is very accurate up and back. In profile she looks particularly good as she is so free and easy, and she carries herself very well. The more I looked at her the more she impressed me, and I thought she out moved Chasing Lightning here, but they are two lovely girls. In the challenge, I opted for the youthful exuberance and profile carriage of Nina Simone, in a close call, RBB.

2nd) Ch Quissmar Chasing Lightning (Mrs A Marquiss), I thought this bitch too was a real beauty and for a time I had her as the class winner. Standing and going over her, I found not a lot that I would want to change, and I appreciated being at close quarters to examine her and enjoy going over her. Beautiful head and eye, super expression and really well made throughout. Excellent quarters, firm topline and super tail set. Not quite so keen on the floor today as the winner which cost her, but a real beauty and not surprised to see she is titled. Beautifully presented and handled sympathetically.
