Breed: Dachshund (Miniature Wire Haired)
My thanks to my stewards, Mairi and Wayne for keeping me on track & to the exhibitors for a good entry and their sportsmanship. Class 2651 MPD (1 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: 7537 JONES, Mrs Sabrina Bimini Song Sung Blue, quality young puppy with all the essentials to make it to the top. Beautiful head and eye, very classic throughout & very shapely standing and maintaining that shape on the move. All of a piece & very much in my mind today for a ‘green card’, just felt he could have put more in when it mattered. One destined to go to the top. Class 2652 PD (2 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: 7520 COROMINAS, Miss Maria Almarxils Diego For Ruichango, not a new one to me, one I have judged before & I was interested to see how he would fare in breed competition with his peers. I still admired him for his type & balance, very good eye and expression; good quarters even if he is still a touch loose in front; uses himself very well in profile & was put down in a good jacket of correct texture. I thought on merit and performance he well deserved the ResCC. 2nd: 7539 KENT, Mrs Yvonne Barratini Du Beke At Lokmadi, different type to the winner & not quite so forward at this stage, good head and eye, houndy expression though not quite the shape of the winner in body, but he is soundly made & uses himself well. Keeps his shape on the move & was well handled. Class 2653 JD (1 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: 7547 MARSTON TEAL, Mrs Sonia Lordscairnie Dubious Love, smart young dog, very nice for overall type and quality; I thought perhaps could do with a touch more strength of foreface & a mite round in eye; but beyond that he is very typical & smart; used himself well on the move & very eye catching in profile. Class 2655 LD (4 Entries) Abs: 3 1st: 7529 GILKES, Mrs Susan & STORTON, Mrs. & Mr. H.M. & D.G Dereheath Shaken Not Stired At Birichino, stood alone here but he is a typical hound of good quality & balance; another who was a touch round in eye & could be more accurate up and back; excellently presented and beautifully conditioned and handled. Class 2656 OD (1 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: 7555 THORN ANDREWS, Mrs Z Ch Drakesleat Kumquat May, stood alone here but a comfortable winner in any company, super head, houndy & expressive, beautiful to go over and well made throughout, excellent forehand & keel, super ribbing and firm topline; presented in first class order and uses himself well on the move, very accurate up & back and carries himself with self assuredness and an air of class. DCC & BOS. Class 2657 VD (1 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: 7515 BRUTY, Mrs Geraldene Jantar Red Horses Imp Polland, his birthday today & at 8 he still behaves like a puppy! Starting to show his age a little in his face now but uses himself well on the move & when he decides to, can go with a reasonably sound and free action. Not in his best jacket today. Class 2658 SBB (4 Entries) Abs: 2 1st: 7554 SIEMINSKI, Ms Tracy J Dajean Surely A Vision, lovely sort of bitch, very shapely and sound, perhaps a touch lower than ideal but very good in all other respects, beautifully presented and handled. 2nd: 7552 ROSE, Mrs B J Barratini Song And Dance With Rosencrantz, quite similar in head and expression to the winner & it is both attractive and feminine; good forehand & firm topline; still to firm up in hindquarters & this showed on the move, shows promise and was very well put down. Class 2659 MPB (3 Entries) Abs: 0 1st: 7538 JONES, Mrs Sabrina Bimini Indigo Blue, beautifully headed bitch; so much to admire & is a very good prospect, excellent shape and type and uses herself well on the move, in good jacket & very well handled; destined to do some useful winning if she carries on maturing in this way. 2nd: 7540 KILROY, Mrs J Rozelle Rosalie At Janacop, lots to like in this bitch too, typical head and eye; a mite forward in shoulder and could do with a touch more upperarm which showed on the move, firm topline and neat underline, good hindquarters & her rear action was very good. 3rd: 7527 DAVIES, Mrs Grainne Stargang Warrior Princess Class 2660 PB (6 Entries) Abs: 1 1st: 7551 MILLS- JONES, Mrs C Carlita Jellie Baby, caught my eye on the first go around & held my attention; a very classy bitch I thought & with an air of quality; super head and eye, good strength and retaining femininity; maturing well through her body & very well made throughout; expertly handled to show off her virtues & powered around the ring like a seasoned pro; I admired her a lot and did consider her further, BPIB & well deserved. 2nd: 7541 KILROY, Mrs J Do Smarties At Janacop 3rd: 7554 SIEMINSKI, Ms Tracy J Dajean Surely A Vision Class 2661 JB (6 Entries) Abs: 1 1st: 7543 KIRKWOOD, Mr G Helydon Vexy Vixen, very typy & balanced in outline; liked her head and eye, beautifully made in body, well ribbed back & good balance throughout; she is very sound on the move but just needs to hold herself back a touch to show off to full advantage. Excellent jacket & presentation. 2nd: 7525 DANCE, Mrs M Emem Hazel Sunshine, close up to the winner in many respects & I thought she would be the winner on first glance, very houndy and typical, well made throughout and beautifully conditioned, a touch taller than the winner, very free and easy on the move and expertly handled & presented. 3rd: 7524 CROSSMAN, Mr T & KENNEDY, Mrs Ann Moonshe May Bee Class 2662 PGB (8 Entries) Abs: 2 1st: 7526 DANCE, Mrs M Emem Hope For Sunshine, little to those between these two lovely bitches, admired them both a lot & both have very typical heads and eyes, super forehands & are very typical in all respects; I just marginally preferred Hope For Sunshine on the move for her freedom & accuracy; two nice girls. Beautifully put down & shown to perfection. 2nd: 7545 KIRKWOOD-EMERY, Misses A & A Helydon Tartan Talula, see above. Class 2663 LB (5 Entries) Abs: 2 1st: 7536 JONES, Mrs Sabrina Bimini To The Moon And Back, classy bitch full of type, with a lot going for her; very nice in head but perhaps a touch rounder in eye than ideal; in all other respects I thought she was lovely & very well put together; stood on good legs & feet and used herself well on the move, sound and accurate & I would not be surprised if she carries a title in time, she would be most worthy. Just edged out in the final run off by the two Open Bitches. 2nd: 7542 KIRKWOOD, Mr G Helydon Quickstep Queeni, I thought this bitch may well be the winner on first glance & in many respects is similar to the winner & indeed I did prefer her eye and expression, but she is just a touch lower than ideal & doesn’t quite have the feet of the winner. She is very sound & accurate and was presented in a harsh jacket of good texture. Class 2664 OB (5 Entries) Abs: 1 1st: 7556 THORN ANDREWS, Mrs Z Ch Drakesleat Too Gud To Be True, beautiful bitch who really is a class act, a true ‘dachshund in miniature’ but in her mind she is anything but miniature! Fabulous shape & outline and on going over her there is so little to want to change, super expression & strength to muzzle but retaining femininity throughout; beautiful forehand and keel, firm topline & neat underline; each part fitting seamlessly into the next & on the move she goes like a well oiled machine, her construction is such that she is so accurate and true but effortless & stylish with it. In profile she draws the eye & her attitude adds to her sheer class. In beautiful muscle tone & fabulous jacket. CC & BOB, without hesitation, if only they were all like this. 2nd: 7544 KIRKWOOD-EMERY, Misses A & A Helydon Nifty Nairn JW, different in type to the winner but with a lot of quality too, admirable head and eye, good in forequarters & firm topline; neat underline & beautifully conditioned. Full of herself & goes like she has somewhere to be; very sound and accurate; I preferred the profile of the winner, but another good one & well deserved the RCC over some lovely bitches. Expertly handled and presented as were each and every dog from this kennel. Evan L Ryan (Judge)
