Breed: Canadian Eskimo Dog

Canadian Eskimo Dogs – Crufts 2024

I very much enjoyed judging this lovely breed today. With only a few exceptions I found quality to be excellent. You are doing a very good job with this little known, but very handsome breed. Please keep up the good work.

Veteran Dog (3)

1. Pl.Nl.Ch. Arcticice Qimmiq Tlun at Chillipaws

Attractive, strong and masculine dog, well proportioned and not overly large. He has very well proportioned and typical head and expression and very good ears. He is slightly longer than tall, has a moderate neck and a slightly sloping topline, all as befits the breed. Moved well from all angles and was shown in very good condition for his age. Best veteran.

2. Akna King Peak

Another very attractive dog, he excelled in side movement. At 10 years of age, he is fit for his age, but has lost some of his muscle tone. Lovely head, excellent expression. Could do with some more body weight. Pleasing coat. Moved very well, especially from the side.

3. Akna Ross at Koroyza Wtd

Puppy Dog (1)

1. Akna Panda

Very attractive yound dog with very pleasing size and type. Typical head with pleasing ears. Pleasing neck with good strength for age. Well angulated front. Pleasing body proportions and topline. His tail is lying rather flat on his back. Moved well from the side, but needs to settle in front with maturity. A remarkably beautiful colour. Best Puppy.

Junior Dog (3,1)

1. Qimugta Hendricks

Well proportioned dog, slightly longer than high. Attractive head and expression. Excellent neck with a lovely nape. Strong forequarters. Pleasing topline. Tail rather high set. Moved well when getting into his stride.

2. Gerifreki Devil’s Food Made by Akna

Another well proportioned dog with an attractive expression. Pleasing neck and outline. Good forechest. Needs to develop more volume and width to his loin. He mostly jumped around in movement, but when he settled in the end, he looked good.

Post Graduate (1)

1. Akna Ice Man

A well proportioned dog, definitely within standard size, but he could be somewhat more masculine and have some more bone. Typical head, good neck. The slope to his topline is more than I preferred even for the breed. When getting out of his pace, he moved quite well, if a little busy. Very pleasing coat.

Open Dog (4)

1. Aavuuta Qimmiq Akiak

Impressive dog, very well balanced and proportioned, masculine without lumber. Excellent head and expression. Strong neck, well set. Well angulated, balanced both ends. Excellent topline. Well set and carried tail. A very wound mover from the front and from the side, reasonable as seen from behind. Overall an excellent representative of his breed and sex. Best dog and BOB.

2. Qimugta Judas by Akna

An instantly eye-catching and attractive black dog, a little longer cast than the winner. Very typical head with ideal width of skull and an excellent expression. His neck is longer than what I am looking for in the breed. Beautiful coat. He moved well from all angles. Reserve Best Dog.

3. Norstrela Pulsar Wind via Innugati

Good Citizen Dog Scheme Dogs (1)

1. Qimugta Winston at Chillipaws

A big and strong dog of very pleasing proportions. Masculine head that fits the rest of him. Typical strong neck. Firm topline. His tail is somewhat high set. His coat look rather puffed up from a distance, but has a good structure when you feel for it. A pleasing mover from all angles.

Veteran Bitch (1)

1. Akna Peechee for Qimugta

Strong bitch in excellent condition, especially for her age. Attractive head and expression. Very good ears. Strong neck. Would have prefer her slightly more up on legs and carrying less weight for optimal balance. Well set tail. She moved soundly from all angles.

Junior Bitch (1)

1. Qimugta Junipero

Feminine bitch with very pleasing proportions. Elegant head. She needs to gain some more bone and substance with maturity. I would not want any more neck than this. Excellent topline, correct tailset. Balanced angulation. Not the thickest of coats on the day. Moved with co-ordination and light on her feet.

Open Bitch (5)

1. Asiaq Queen Fabiola

A very sound and well constructed bitch, even if somewhat low on legs. Typical head, on the stronger side for a bitch. Excellent neck. Firm topline, typically slightly sloping. Well bodied. Excellent tail. Excellent coat. The best mover in the whole entry; sound, strong, well synchronized and supple. Best bitch and BOS.

2. Qimugta Harpist

Feminine bitch who looks better on the move than standing. Excellent head. Tendency to ewe neck. Firm topline. Well set and carried tail. Excellent coat. A very pleasing mover from all angles, even if not as outstanding as the winner. Reserve Best Bitch

3. Int.Ir.Ned.Ch. Harpan Charlotte Bay

Good Citizen Dog Scheme Bitch (1)

1. Akna Voorhees

Rangy, elegant bitch who could do with more substance and her lack of coat does not enhance her overall impression. Typical head, pleasing neck. Excellent topline. Moderate, balanced angulation. Moved light on her feet.
