Best Veteran in Show

A lovely line-up for Best Veteran in show included the Golden Retriever Sh.Ch. Thorneywait San Valentino JW ShCM, the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Ch. Greentree Gold Mombo to Denzilly, the English Toy Terrier Ch. Witchstone Minnehaha, the Norwegian Elkhound Ch. Grasilva Little Rock avec Gilkaro JW and the Portuguese Water Dog Ch. Belleville Anjo de Noite VW.

The Lhasa Apso, Ch.Bellellen Double Ducie JW, topped the lot. Just lovely for type, outline and balance, sturdy and alert, to me this is a truly outstanding representative of his breed and sex. Typical head with ideal width of skull, length of muzzle and correct medium stop, masculine without any coarseness and with an ideal reverse scissor bite. Well set ears. Lovely neck into shoulder, ideal length of body and a beautiful tail, in total creating an outstanding silhouette without exaggerations. Balanced angulation both ends. Excellent coat quality with a hard touch and moderate undercoat. He kept his beautiful balance and outline at all times, seemingly just gliding forward just as a Lhasa should. Loved him!

Reserve to the Welsh Corgi Cardigan, Ch. Handskes Just A Gigolo at Tamlin. He impressed me a lot with his beautiful proportions and above all with movement rarely seen in the breed. Strong, very masculine head with typical stop and eyebrows. Well set and carried ears. Strong and arched neck, well set into shoulders. Typical wrap-around front without exaggerations. He stood very well over his front legs and covered plenty of ground with a firm topline, making a lovely silhouette with drama to it. Typical coat quality. He strode out very well indeed with a particularly good drive from behind, he was one of my delightful surprises of the week-end.
