The Yorkshire Bulldog Club Championship Show 16/11/2024

I would like to thank Yorkshire Bulldog club for the honour of being invited to judge my first championship show, it makes extra special to award first set of CC at the breed club show. Thank you for exceptional hospitality, for the warm welcome and the care shown throughout the day. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience that I will treasure. Also Thank you to my two stewards for managing the ring so smoothly. My biggest thank you to all the exhibitors for giving me a fantastic entry of 127, with only a few absentees on the day. It truly brought back the spirit of the good old days, with classes full and a lively ringside! This made my first championship show judging experience truly unforgettable, and it’s a memory I will treasure. I am very grateful to each of you for allowing me the privilege of going over your dogs, and accepting my decisions with such grace and sportsmanship. I found the overall quality to be stronger in the bitch classes compared to the dogs. There were many quality exhibits, some unfortunately went card-less, and others I am certain will achieve top honours in the future. The competition was strong, and it was a privilege to judge dogs of such a high quality.

Simpson Mrs E, Jackarhys Apache Warrior W/BR 7 months old, superb quality puppy with strong head, good length and depth of skull, dark round clear eyes with desired sour expression, thin well set ears, big black nose with open nostrils. Strong jaw, wide and well fitted. Lovely square front with tacked on shoulder, strong straight bone ,deep brisket .Compact body with good barrel rib ,pleasing topline with well set healthy tail. Moved well.

2. Evison Mr & Mrs C & S, Kikuchi Yogi Bear R/W Another lovely puppy with excellent head finely wrinkled ,clear dark eyes, thin well set ears, straight front to tight feet, good topline and nice rear angulation. Moved ok.

Sibbick Mrs S, Ulmo Di Vendra Nevra Treasurabull (Imp FRA)Pied/W Stunning head with superb width and turn of underjaw, well rounded cheeks, dark clear eyes, well defined stop ,large nose with open nostrils. Square front with tacked on shoulder, straight bone down to tight feet, good reach of neck, nice depth and spring to the ribs, correct topline with low set healthy tail. Well balanced puppy dog .Moved well. BPD

2. Brosnan Mr A, Starbornbullies Tony Montana Pied/W Pleasing head with well set ears, dark clear eyes, large nose with open nostrils, super width and turn of underjaw. Straight front to tight feet, well rounded brisket, good depth and spring to the rib. Moved ok.

Lowthian Mr & Mrs S & D, Haddaway The Boss for Tyneamite BR/W Very nice dog with good substance. Excellent,strong masculine head with good length of skull and foreface, true underjaw, dark clear eyes, well set rosed ears. Well boned front with good shoulder placement , deep brisket and barrel rib, pleasing topline with healthy tail, well angulated rear, moved very well, walking his width on return.

2. Peebles Mr S, Weebullz Parabellum R/W lovely dog, clean head with no exaggerations, good width of skull, neat ears, round dark eyes, good width and turn of underjaw. Lovely square front, well rounded brisket ,enough bone ,straight down to tight feet. Nicely tacked on shoulders, pleasing topline, good rear angulation. Moved very well.

1. Munro Mr & Mrs G & J, Smoochabull Out Of Time at Dreadgod BR/W pleasing head, good width and turn of underjaw, clear dark eyes. Strong front to tight feet, good reach of neck, well rounded brisket, nice depth to the rib, good topline, well angulated hocks. Moved ok.

2.Parker Mrs & Mr C & S, Albionpride Somebody New R/W quality head with good flat skull & neat rose ears, large nose with open nostrils . Sound eyes, good width and turn of underjaw. Strong front with straight bone to tight feet. Good rib and pleasing tuck up. Moved ok.

1. Van Neer Mrs K, Mybullsenroses Pride of Holland (Imp ESP) R/Pied/W very impressive, well build masculine dog, well balanced through, with so much to like. Strong masculine head with suitable work, large scull with good depth and length, superb length of foreface, wide true jaw with fantastic upturn, correct eye level set making an appealing expression, dark clear eyes, full nose roll which sits back, big black nose with wide open nostrils. Good length and arch of neck leading into strong tacked on shoulder placement, straight square front, big well rounded rib and a narrow rear gives the desired pear shaped body with correct topline and tuck up, low set healthy tail. Strong well muscular backend with well let down angulated hocks. Pleasing outline from any angle. Moved with ease, on going & coming, with typical bulldog roll, maintaining his topline on the move. Presented in immaculate condition. I was delighted to award DCC & BIS

2. Watkins Mrs L, Shipshape Shinning Star BR/W another beautiful dog which I admired since puppy. He has developed into beautiful masculine dog. Stunning head with wide scull, finely wrinkled, well set rosed ears, clear darkest eyes with desired sour expression, big black nose with open nostrils. True wide underjaw with superb upsweep. Strong well arched neck, tacked on shoulders, strong straight bone to tight feet, lovely depth of brisket, nice barrel ribs with lovely topline and tuck up to strong quarters. Good rear angulation and lovely tail. Well muscled in tone and condition. Moved well with ease. Lovely temperament. Presented and shown in immaculate condition.

Handley Ms L ,CH Haddaway Hey Bulldog BR/W beautiful very well build and well balanced dog with superb head with just enough work, fantastic width and turn of underjaw ,darkest clear eyes ,big nose with open nostrils, well set thin rosed ears. Good length well arched neck. Deep chest well tacked on shoulders ,pleasing straight bone to strong pasterns and tight feet, good depth and spring to the rib, pear shaped body, lovely tuck up, well angulated strong back end. Well muscled throughout. He moved effortlessly and soundly, with excellent front width and strong rear movement. Presented and shown in immaculate condition. RCC

2. Rodgers Mr & Mrs D C R &D, CH Bucks and Sons Dante at Belushi (Imp ITA) Pied/W another lovely dog. Excellent head with wide skull, well placed rosed ears, dark eyes, large black nose with open nostrils, wide true jaw with great up sweep. Strong front with tacked on shoulders, straight bone to neat feet. Deep wide chest with plenty of rib, pleasing top line to healthy tail, well muscled and angulated rear. Moved well, walking his width on return.

Superb head with just enough work ,correct layback and good size underjaw, clear dark eyes , well placed thin ears. Compact pear shaped body with nice straight front ,strong pasterns and tight feet, good reach of neck, perfect topline and low set healthy tail. Pleasing outline from any angle. Moved well. Very confident puppy with a lovely temperament. I was delighted to award BPB & BPIS

Super shape head with correct layback, correctly fitted dark eyes, well rounded cheeks,large nose and true jaw, well set thin rosed ears. Strong straight forelegs with a wide front giving a pleasing front appearance, strong pasterns and neat feet. Compact body with big rib, pleasing topline with good tail. Moved well.

2. Cagniart Mrs A, Myally Bulldog The Killer Queen R/W Very close decision here, as I really liked this girl. Very pretty feminine bitch with superb brick shape head, finely wrinkled, good width and turn of underjaw, darkest clear eyes, with pleasing feminine expression .Super straight front with strong pasterns and neat feet. good tacked on shoulder, lovely well rounded brisket good length of neck, good depth of rib, pleasing topline with low set healthy tail and good tuck up ,lovely pear shaped body and good rear angulation. Moved well.

Presented and shown in immaculate condition. I was delighted to award BCC, BOS & RBIS.

2. Lovelock Mr & Mrs A & R, Quimica De New Gryffindor Mystyle R/W ,another beautiful standard size ,well balanced bitch with so much to like. Lovely brick shape head with good layback, dark clear eyes with desired sour expression, nice turn and width of underjaw. Black nose with open nostrils. Straight front with good bone to tight feet, good length of neck. Well balanced body with nice deep brisket, correct topline, pear shaped body and low set healthy tail, well developed thighs.
