Southern Counties Canine Association
Firstly I would like to the thank the officers and committee for Southern Counties Canine Association for the kind invitation to judge Labrador Retrievers at CC level for the first time. I was spoilt for choice and on many occasions I was splitting hairs. Thanks also to my two fantastic stewards for helping to keep the ring running smoothly.
SPECIAL BEGINNERS DOG/BITCH (9,0)
1st GOODWIN’S Mcfarwins Flashing Lights
Feminine girl who won class on overall balance. Pretty head and expression, good pigment, would prefer tighter front pasterns. Good depth of chest, level top line and good width of stifle, well muscled, would prefer a more level tail set to provide a more level tail carriage.
2nd EVANS’ Trendlewood Long Time Comin
8 month old male with a masculine head and expression with good pigment. Good reach of neck and lay back of shoulder. Level top line, would prefer more width of stifle, giving handler a hard time but moved well when settled.
3rd SHARP’S Allemhor Midnight Dreams

1st EDWARDS’ Frewlings Justin Rose at Bearstone
Masculine head with good pigment, would prefer more length of leg. Well angulated front, good bone and neat feet. Level top line and correct tail set. Good spring of rib for age. Moved out well just needs time to tighten on the rear.
2nd EVANS’ Trendlewood Long Time Comin
Second in special beginners.

1st METCALFE’S Baileydale Rocket Man JW
Masculine dog with soft head and expression. Excellent pigment, well placed shoulders and good return of upper arm, would just prefer a little less weight over the shoulders. Good bone and feet. Up to size, good depth of chest, good width of stifle level top line, correct tail set, moved soundly for his age. BPD.
2nd WALTON’S Gallybob Uno
Giving handler a hard time on the stand but got this place for his overall balance. Masculine heal with excellent pigment. Well angulated front, good depth of chest, level top line, good width of stifle, well muscled, good bone and neat feet.
3rd YOUNG’S Potterspiney My Sovereign

1st CASEY & JAYES’ Berlan Get Up and Go at Sandylands
Most beautiful 13 month yellow. Excellent head and expression with super pigment. Good reach of neck with well placed shoulders and good return of upper arm. Good depth of chest and excellent bone and neat feet. Level top line, moderate width of stifle, well muscled and won this class on his sound easy ground covering movement with correct tail set and carriage. One I am sue with a very bright future. 2nd JOHNSON’S Cremino Celebrity JW
Another lovely youngster, black, slightly smaller, masculine head and expression, moderate reach of neck would prefer more return of upper arm. Good depth of chest with a level top line, moderate width of stifle, well muscled, unfortunately carried tail high on the move. Covered the ground with ease.
3rd YOUNG & PARKES’ Potterzuri Mister Mufasa JW

1st METCALFE’S Rumhill Bertie Wooster by Baileydale
Stood alone but a very worthy winner. Chocolate very balanced overall. Well placed shoulders with good return of upper arm. Good depth of chest and width of stifle, strong top line with correct tail set and carriage. Would prefer slightly shorter couplings. Not giving his best on the move but moved true and sound.

1st HARVEY-MAJOR’S Just The Joker in Linjor JW
Masculine head and expression, excellent pigment, good reach of neck, well placed shoulders and good return of upper arm. Neat elbows and good depth of chest. Short coupled with level top line. Good width of stifle and tail carried well on the move. Well muscled and covered the ground with ease.
2nd CHAPMAN’S Daisypatch Annie’s Boy JW
Soft head and expression with good reach of neck. Very balanced angles front and back. Well placed shoulders with good depth of chest, well sprung ribs and moderate width of stifle. Level topline with good tail set. Moved well when settled.

Chocolate male with soft head and expression, Good reach of neck with well placed shoulders and good return of upper arm, Good depth of chest, tight elbows, level top line held on the moved, in good double coat, moderate bend of stifle, well muscled which he used to his advantage on the move.
2nd CHAPMAN’S Daisypatch Ostratto
Yellow with excellent pigment and lovely dark eye. Moderate reach of neck, would prefer tighter feet. Good depth of chest, not as balanced as winner but moved out well. Correct tail set and carriage. Would prefer more return of upper arm to balance angles with rear.
3rd PERKINS’ Carrmoer Teguila by Keenispires

Two excellent examples topped this class and a pleasure to judge both.
1st NUGTEREN’S Sh Ch, Int Sh Ch, Dutch Ch Lan Spb Gazprom CW23 EW23
One I have judged before and I can honestly say he has only got better. Excellent head and expression with the most beautiful soft eye and dark pigment. Good reach of neck into well placed shoulders and good return of upper arm which is where he won this class to give him that extra reach in front. Good depth of chest, tight elbows, neat feet, level top line held on the move with correct tail set. Presented in hard condition which he used to his advantage on the move. CC and BOB.
2nd JOHNSON’S Sh Ch Cremino Calabrese
Similar attributes to the winner and a close decision. Would just prefer slightly more return of upper arm to give more reach in front. Masculine head with soft eye and excellent pigment. Good reach of neck, good depth of chest, spring of rib, moderate bend of stifle, moved well with well muscled hind quarters.

1st GANNEY’S Mardas Black Silk JW
8 year old girl, won class on positive movement. Pretty head and expression, lovely dark eye. Moderate reach of neck, good depth of chest, carrying slightly too much weight, balanced angles front and back. Well muscled and covered the ground with ease.
2nd AUTEY’S Chadfrith Alcazaba
Chocolate male, masculine head, with soft eye, good reach of neck, good depth of chest, slightly long in loin, moderate bend of stifle, correct tail set. Not as positive as winner on the move.
3rd WHITE’S Lunarpet Sweet Honeysuckle

1st METCALFE’S Trenlewood Its Only Love
Most elegant 6 month old black puppy bitch. Pretty head and expression. Good reach of neck with well placed shoulders and good return of upper arm, everything in the right place for her age. Level top line, good depth of chest, excellent bone and neat feet. Good width of stifle with correct tail set which she carried well on the move. Positive going and coming for her age.
2nd BRADDON’S Trendlwood It Takes Two
Another pretty girl and also very balanced, just preferred the front assembly of the winner. Soft head and expression with good reach of neck moderate return of upper arm. Good depth of chest and spring of rib for her age, moderate width of stifle. Tail set slightly low, moved sound and true.
3rd SHARP’S Alliemhor Midnight Love

2nd YOUNG’S Potterspiney Ahsoka Tano
Feminine girl with excellent pigment and dark eye. Good reach of neck with well placed shoulders. Moderate bone, good depth of chest, long in loin which can affect top line on the stand when relaxes. Moderate bend of stifle, moved well but would prefer a little more enthusiasm.

Feminine girl and very balanced. Pretty head and expression. Good reach of neck with well placed shoulders and good return of upper arm. Good bone and feet. Level top line, short coupled, good width of stifle, well muscled and covered the ground with ease. One with a bright future.
2nd JURETA’A Uptown Girl Strong Wind
Feminine head and expression, lovely dark eye and pigment. Good reach of neck with well placed shoulders and good return of upper arm. Good depth of chest, just preferred the shorter couplings of the winner. Good width of stifle, level topline held on the move with correct tail set. Moved out true with reach and drive, well muscled.

Good depth of chest, level top line , short coupled, good width of stifle, would prefer more animation on the stand to t=complete the picture. Moved well when settled.

Pretty girl with lovely pigment and dark eye. Good reach of neck, well placed shoulders, good bone and depth of chest. Level top line held on the move, good width of stifle, well muscled, correct tail set and carriage. Covered the ground with ease which won her this class.
2nd KING’S Linthwaite Arabella
Another pretty girl who was giving handler a hard time on the move. Very balance girl with good reach of neck, good depth of chest and spring of rib, short coupled with good width of stifle, tail set slightly drops at croup. Well muscled and when settled moved straight and true front and back.
3rd SHIRTON’S Woolman Carefree

Elegant yellow with excellent pigment and lovely dark eye. Good reach of neck with well placed shoulders and good return of upper arm. Good bone and feet. Good depth of chest, short coupled, would prefer slightly more width of stifle. Moved straight and true front and back. Well muscled just starting to loose her coat.
2nd GANNEY’S Allenies Tampa Bay D’orta for Darrabol
Another feminine girl with lovely dark eye and pigment. Good depth of chest, short coupled, good spring of rib, level top lone, moderate bend of stifle would prefer a tighter undercarriage. Moved well, well muscles and displays typical labrador temperament.

Won this class on movement. Feminine girl who ticks all the boxes, pretty head and expression. Good reach of neck Well placed shoulders and good return of upper arm. Good depth of chest Level top line held on the move with good width of stifle, not in her best coat but still could deny her the class. CC.
2nd HARVEY-MAJOR’S Hit if Hit Choice for Vita Solare at Linjor (Imp Ukr)
Another beautiful girl with pretty head and expression. Moderate reach of neck, good depth of chest, bone and neat feet. Short coupled with level topline, good width of stifle, correct tail set and carriage, just preferred the front reach of the winner. Presented in excellent hard condition. Res CC.
