Samoyed Breeders & Owners League

Breed: Samoyed
Samoyed Breeders and Owners League Championship Show (SBOL) 13th July 2024. Firstly, I would very much like to thank the committee of the SBOL for inviting me to judge at your show. It was well run and with a good atmosphere which is always lovely to see. Secondly, I would like to thank all the exhibitors who took the time to enter under me, I very much appreciate it and had some lovely dogs to go over as a result. The one general observation I would make is that movement needs watching as it was very variable. Class 1 Minor Puppy Dog 1 1. Wilson’s CroftDouglas Brave Bundle. At his first show but coped so well and super to see him enjoying his day out. As he should be at this age. I think this boy has a very promising future. He is well angulated with a good reach of neck and a lovely plush coat with a super tail set. Head as it should be at his age. Movement loose but this will tighten up as he grows. Class 2 Puppy Dog 0 Class 3 Junior Dog 2 (1) 1. Adam’s Kensesqui Blini by Saroxsha. A substantial boy with a broad flat skull and well placed ears. Eye set ok and some lovely teeth on him. Well presented with reasonable muscling. Angulation better back than front but good pasterns. A good length of neck. Moved well. Class 4 Yearling Dog 0 Class 5 Post Graduate Dog 2 1. Winger’s Rosskaja Here Comes Trouble for Synanaria. Very masculine boy carrying a heavy coat. Beautiful handsome head with lovely eye shape and just the right amount of stop. Like his neck which was set well in a strong body with good loin. Nice straight hocks and reasonable angulation. Well presented and won this class on his movement. 2. Richardson and Owen’s Svetllen’s Barentsz. I had written that these two boys could change places on another day. Another good looking boy with a lot to like. Good leg to body proportion. Moderate bone. Good masculine head with reasonable breadth and nice thick ear leather. Liked his pasterns. Rear angulation good, just did not move out as positively as 1 on the day. Class 6 Mid Limit Dog 0 Class 7 Limit Dog 6 A good class of dogs of very different types. 1. Humphrey’s Tiksi Time After Time. A medium sized biscuit shaded boy with lots to like. Very unexaggerated in every way. Just a such a shame he did not always want to cooperate with his handler. However, he did enough to see his qualities. Super head with typical expression and smile. Good depth of chest and depth of rib. Tail set just right. Angulation back and front good. Moved out best in the class. Pleased to award him RCC. 2. Dodd’s Bondsmoor Autumnal Breeze. Another lovely boy with a super broad head and lovely expression on him. The right eye set and good just the right amount of stop. Just enough neck. Liked his feet and good moderate boning. Angulation back and front good. Tail set spot on presenting a beautiful arch. Maturing up nicely. Another one who found it hard to focus. Moved out well. 3. Green’s Zenozak Big Love Class 8 Open Dog 5 (1) Another class with a breadth of type. 1. Farrington’s Ch Vandreem Imperial McQueen by Amarige Substantial boy with a super coat on him who presented a super profile on the stand. With a lovely masculine head with good breadth of skull, well placed and well furred ears, correct eye set. Liked his reach of neck and strength of loin. Super tail set. Angulation back and front good. Best feet in the class as well as the best mover on the day. 2. Hopkins Navratilova’s Holy Archie Orleansnow (Imp CZE). A medium size dog with a good quality coat. Masculine head. Good depth of chest and ribs. Beautiful tail set and good pasterns. All together generally well put together but just did not move out as well as 1 on the day. 3. Sobieraj’s Jurassic Yed Alan Golden Style (Imp POL). Class 9 Veteran Dog 3 These were all a real testament to the longevity of our lovely breed. 1. Wilson’s Ch Samnouska Chase The Ace. A dog I have followed all his show career and long liked. A good moderate boy with a lovely masculine head and expression, good neck length and depth of chest. Strong loin. Front and back angulation well matched. In good coat and moved out best in class. I was pleased to award him DCC, BVD, BOS and RBVIS. 2. Green’s Taronakits Kall Me Kosmic ShCM. Well muscled boy. Good outline but preferred the proportions on 1. Medium boned boy. Well presented. Masculine head with good breadth of skull, correct ear placement and eye set. Front angulation good and a lovely well set tail. Moved out well. 3. Short’s Zakaytia Angel of Mine. Class 10 Minor Puppy Bitch 0 Class 11 Puppy Bitch 1 1. Bule’s Dreambig Evija. Stood alone. Pretty girl with super plush coat which was presented immaculately. Just enough neck. Good thick ear leather, correct eye set and stop. Beautiful tail set and strong level top line on the move. Nice deep chest and straight front. Moved OK. Pleased to award her BPB and BPIS. Class 12 Junior Bitch 5 (2) 1. Wilson’s Gwyneira Scarlet Witch A good workman like bitch who moved much better on a loose lead. Nice to see some cream colouring too. Liked her head which had good ear placement and eye set. Good flat skull. Super length of neck. Angulation back and front good with nice angled pasterns. 2. Bule’s Dreambig Evija. See Class 11. 3. Mcgroarty’s Lola Bella. Class 13 Yearling Bitch 7 (2) 1. Mann and Mann’s Silbertips And All That Jazz JW. Well put together girl with a lot to like. Typical pretty and feminine head with good eye set. Good length of neck. Decent depth of chest and good rear angulation. Won this class on her movement. 2. Wilson’s Gwyneira Scarlet Witch. See Class 12 3. Humphrey’s Rosnorske Royal Lotus. Class 14 Post Graduate Bitch 3 1. Adam’s Zara Queen of the Holiday Avec Saroxsha (Imp Rus) Quite a tall girl but well made with a lovely outline and good leg to body proportions. Super presentation. Good depth of chest and lovely tailset. Front and rear angulation well matched. Moved out best in class. 2. Argyle’s Elygra Ice Precious Moment. Medium sized girl with a lot to like but she was not happy in the ring and did not show herself off as well as I am sure she could. Moved well on a loose lead. Liked her leg to body proportions. Would prefer a tad more bone but I am being picky here. 3. McRobbie’s Bondsmoor Autumnal Rainbow Class 15 Mid Limit Bitch A strong class. 1. Dodd’s Kiss Me Kate JW. Pretty bitch who still remains workmanlike. She moved out with reach and drive and a good level topline. Pretty feminine head with good length of neck. Liked her leg to body proportions and angulation to match. Tail set good. Pleased to award her RCC. 2. Farrington’s Amarage Escada. Very different style of girl to 1 with lots to like and could change places. Very feminine head with typical sammie smile. Good plush coat with reasonable length of leg. Good depth of chest and strong loin. Just did not move out as well as 1 on the day. 3. Argyle’s Elygra Ice Poetry In Motion. Class 16 Limit Bitch 5 Another strong class. 1. Hansell’s Taronakits it’s Kalyra at Samarind A girl who I judged as a puppy and she has matured up well. A touch lacking in coat but that did not detract from her at all. A quality uber feminine girl presented in immaculate condition. Very pretty head with a good reach of neck and super tail set. Nice depth of chest and good back and front angulation. Moved with confidence and drive. Pleased to award her BCC and BIS. 2. Howlett’s Tiksi Forget Me Not. Not much to choose 1 and 2 Just did not show her self off as well as 1 on the day. Moved out with reach and drive with angulation to match. Lovely feminine head with everything as it should be. Good feet on this girl and a good tail set. 3. Tarasinska’s Siberianmist Lagertha. Class 17 Open Bitch 6 (1) A lot of quality in this class where they could all easily change places.

1. Brandenburg and Smith’s Ch Taronakits Its Kwest. Last time I judged this girl she was not happy in the ring. Good to see her on form this time. My critique remains similar as well. Good leg to body proportions and covered the ground well. Carrying a big coat which masks her proportions. Good angulation. 2. Johnson’s Ch Nikara Sweet Dreams For Kimeekasams. Striking looking girl who is a real show girl. Lovely outline and arch of neck. Super tail set. Pretty head with a good eye set. Moved out well. Preferred the angulation of 1. 3. Collison’s Ch Nikara Secret Love by Norjack JW. Class 18 Veteran Bitch 4 (1) I loved this class and seeing the veterans having such a good day out. All of whom were a credit to their handlers. 1. O’Dwyer’s Kalinski Dushka Maia. Super veteran girl who moved out with drive. Lovely outline and proportions. In super condition. Well angulated front and rear. Lovely feminine head and good tail set. Wearing extremely well. Pleased to award her BVB and BVIS. 2. Short’s Ch Zeelukzak Ice’n Glorious at Zakaytia JW VW. Another girl in great condition who was really enjoying herself. Different style to 1 with a heavier coat but well angulated and moved out beautifully. Good depth of rib and strength of loin. 3. Willcock’s BE Ch/RSM CH/ Int Ch Blossomrain Moonlight Song of Dynar.
