Breed: Borzoi
Borzoi I was happy with my main winners who excelled in breed type. A few absentees as has become the norm these days. Movement has deteriorated and some animals were lacking in muscle, both of which go hand in hand. Roadwork would help remedy both. A couple of dish faces and one with cat fee and another wheel backed. Other than that type was good on the whole. Sp Beg Dog (1), 1, Smiths, Ryazan Valdik, 4yr old r/w attending his first champ show. He was so happy on the move it was impossible to assess his movement all he wanted was to look at his mummy adoringly. Good front angulation and correct topline. I think he enjoyed his day out. Best Sp B. JD, (1), Arden’s, Monterun Star Accord, mahogany dog, 16 mths, beautiful head with dark eye, arched neck, needs to drop in brisket yet and drop behind. He’s at that horrible teenage stage where he’s up today and down tomorrow. My advice is to rest him from the ring for 12 months and then look at him again. But he’s promising for type. PGD (5,2abs), 1, Dawson’s, Mischran The Sequal For Stubbylee, wh/grey brindle. 18 months, balanced head with dark eye, arched neck into well laid shoulders, well angulated front, correct topline, still needs to drop in brisket as is to be expected at this age. Would prefer more length of first thigh but again this may come in time. Moved well but can be naughty with his tail until he settles. 2, Ford’s, Mischran Milka, brindle 2 year old, good head with lovely dark eye, arched neck, correct topline, another who needs to drop in chest but has time on his side. Strong hindquarters producing drive on the move. 3, R Valdik LD, (7,3), 1, Harvey’s, Astragorn Zeus Glory of Albaneiler (imp Aus), wh/sable 2yr old. Presented to perfection. Handsome well veined head, arched neck into well laid shoulders, good return of upper arm, great depth of brisket, correct topline and his hind quarters are quite simply the best I’ve seen in this country for some time, good bend of stifle with correct length of first and second thigh. Pleased to award him his first CC & BOS. 2, Conroy’s, Santerman The Way We Were At Enolam, R/W of good type, beautiful dark eye, arched neck, good front and hind angulation. Hind movement needs to tighten but other than that nice dog. 3, Allen’s, Lynx Life of Brian With Araura, this 3yr old white dog was stunning for shape and type but his front movement lets him down. Pity I liked him. OD (6,3), 1, Bridge’s, Jansams The Show Must Go On, fawn/wh 5yr old maturing well, best mover in this class, Masculine head with dark eye, elegant arched neck, good front angulation. To be picky I’d prefer a little more width in front but it’s adequate, his forechest and great depth of brisket makes up for that. Well angulated behind and moves with drive when he gets going. Beautiful presentation RCC. 2, Arden’s, NL Ch/Ir Ch/Int Ch, Paskova Night Warrior At Geeenhaven, r/w 5yr old, good head and dark eye, refined back skull, well laid shoulders, well angulated front and rear, would prefer more depth of brisket but excellent for type. 3, Raczka’s, Jamarqui Alchemy Agent, prefer more fill in forface, good hindquarters but needs to tighten on the move. GCD (1), Raczka’s, Prime Rubin Castor (imp Hun), 3yr old r/w, would prefer a darker eye but he has the most beautiful black 3rd eyelids. Good length of neck, correct topline, good bend of stifle, needs to tighten in movement. Best GC PB (1) Conroy’s, Everwyck Caladria Of Enolam, what a delightful young lady of 6 months at her first show and what fun she had! Beautiful elegant head, dark eye, refined back skull, well angulated fore and aft for her age. Look forward to seeing her mature. Best Puppy JB (2), 1, Donnelly & Devereux, Sukeshi Anna Leopoldovna, 16mths wh/fawn brindle, what a pretty girl, feminine head with dark eye, long arched neck, well angulated front, good topline and overall shape. I liked her and will watch her mature with interest. Best Junior 2, Smettem Minson’s, Chywoon Pillow Talk, just out of puppy so unfortunately giving a lot away to the older more mature winner. Good front, correct topline, good length of first and second thigh, movement needs to tighten but she is a baby. LB (2,1), Dawson’s, Stubbylee Chiara Mia, 4yr old wh/brindle, she just wowed me for type and overall shape. Then she moved and it was beautiful daisy cutting action, never put a foot wrong. Good head with dark eye, refined back skull, well angulated front with plenty of forechest from her great depth, correct topline, good length of both first and second thigh, solid girl who could do a days work in the field too I should think. Loved her and pleased to award her first CC and her movement made it BOB. OB (5,1), Harvey’s, Ch Lynx Ocean Of Peace At Albaneiler (imp Sw), 2yr old fawn red, elegant girl, different type to ticket winner but also a type I like, elegant feminine head, dark almond shaped eye, refined back skull, arch neck into well laid shoulders, good return of upper arm, strong hindquarters and moved well. Unlucky to meet the mature butch but a worthy champion nonetheless RCC. 2, Dawson’s, Ch, Stubbylee Mood Indigo, w/r 5yr old, litter sister to my CC winner and built on similar lines, elegant head, long arched neck, good front, correct topline, broad hindquarters, moved well. 3, Smettem Minson’s, Donskoi Spirit At Chywoon, 4yr old fawn/wh, good for type and overall shape, correct topline, good hindquarters, needs to tighten in rear movement.
