YKC Member Stakes Hound

1st: 7184 GEESON, Mrs J F Abydachs Hot Patootie

Standard Long haired Dachshund presented in excellent order and free from exaggerations. Long head, dark almond shaped eyes. Long muscular neck, shoulders, well positioned, ribbed well back, tail well set and carried, free moving. Soft and straight coat well presented. 

2nd: 8106 SAMPSON, Mrs Avryl Melanie & SAMPSON, Mr Luke Dapperdiva Milk And Honey JW

Whippet bitch, balanced and muscular, head is long and lean, oval shaped eyes, small ears. Long neck shoulders, well positioned, deep in chest, ribs well sprung. Muscular body, thighs broad and well developed. True coming and going and shown in immaculate order.

3rd: 8142 WINKLEY-BALMER, Mr James & POOLE, Mr G Edenwhip Can I Be Him


YKC Member Stakes Terrier

1st: 8223 HANES, Miss Myla Mae Janmark Man In The Middle JW

Masculine Bedlington Terrier of pleasing overall balance. Skull narrow, small dark eyes, ears set on low. Long neck, forelegs straight, deep chest and muscular body. Muscular rear, hocks well let down, tail low set and carried. Thick coat, excellent presentation. 

2nd: 8298 GODDARD, Mr R & Miss L Awbrooksky Czechered Flag

Border Terrier of pleasing size and overall balance, head quite broad, short strong muzzle and dark eyes. Moderate in neck and bone, ribbed well back, muscular rear. Well prepared jacket which is harsh and dense.

3rd: 8898 COLLIS, Miss S Ch Riplington See Your Dreams


YKC 6-11

1st: Molly Whisker

Showing a Border Terrier to best advantage, there was clearly a bond between dog and handler, so good to see. Stacked to advantage, excellent patterns and moving at just the right pace.

2nd: Myla Hanes

Showing a Bedlington Terrier and moving her charge at just the right speed and completing her patterns accurately, stacking her dog well both on the table and floor. Close decision with 1.

3rd: Robert Stuart


YKC 12-17

1st: Alexis Kirkwood-Emery

Empathic handler who worked well her Dachshund to bring out the best in her both stacked and on the move. Completely at one with her charge and excellent patterns, shadowing and stacking. 

2nd: Ellie Darling Steele

Very capable handler showing a Rhodesian Ridgeback, free standing her charge to best advantage, moving at a breed typical pace and making use of the large BIS ring and performing her patterns very accurately.

3rd: Jessica Smith


YKC 18-24

1st: Luke Sampson

Unassuming handler who quietly and effectively shows his Whippet bitch to best advantage, always stacked to perfection and moving as one at just the right speed.

2nd: Kimberley Roach

Showing her Parson Russell Terrier, presented well, just needing a little more finesse with stacking and accuracy on patterns.


Adult Handling 17-30

1st: Lisa Black

Lisa was showing a Rhodesian Ridgeback, she performed very accurate patterns with a larger dog, kept a close eye on where I was standing and stacked her charge to advantage.

2nd: Beth Holmes

Beth was showing a Whippet and completed very accurate patterns in all directions and stacked her dog well, would just like to see a little more affinity between dog and handler.

3rd: Jack Mills


Adult Handling 31-45

1st: Leigh Gleave

Leigh was showing a Lakeland was excellently presented, every time I looked her dog was stood correctly. Moved at the right speed and working together as a team.

2nd: Kirsty Freudenreich

Kirsty showed a Basset Hound and they worked well together, not always the easiest breed but she made it look seamless, well stacked and moving as one.

3rd: Gemma Merson


Adult Handling 46-60

1st: James Taylor

Both 1st and 2nd here were showing Soft-coated wheaten terriers, both beautifully presented and conditioned and moved at a typical speed breed, on the day James was a little more accurate in his patterns.

2nd: Joanne Grimes-Watson

As above, Joanne was showing a Soft-coated wheaten terrier which was well presented and stacked to advantage, just not quite the accuracy of James moving here.

3rd: Steph Collis


Adult Handling 61 +

1st: Lynda Holmes

Lynda was showing a Whippet and stacked him to good advantage, one of the few who showed me the bite correctly. Moved her dog correctly and completed very accurate patterns. 

2nd: Veronica Baldwin

Veronica was another handler showing a soft-coated wheaten terrier very competently. Well prepared charge who was presented to advantage both standing and moving, close up to 1.

3rd: Simon Simpson


Postgraduate Stakes (Hound & Terrier)

1st: 7872 JOLLY, Mrs Nicola J Negasi Elberith For Clanbruachan JW

Strong, muscular bitch who appealed for her overall size and balance. Skull flat, stop quite well defined, round bright dark eyes. Quite long neck, shoulders sloping and well positioned, straight well boned legs and excellent feet. Deep in body, strong muscular loin, firm level topline. Strong well muscled quarters, stifles well turned and hocks well let down. Free active mover covering the ground easily in profile.

2nd: 8800 DAVIS, Miss Melissa L Watercroft Cosmic Dust

Compact dog who is masculine but not overdone. Well balanced, skull broad, with well defined stop, oval shaped eyes. Strong neck of medium length, short straight forelegs, short back, level topline, well muscled hindquarters which he used to advantage on the move. Hard, straight coat well presented. 

3rd: 6946 REID, Mr P & Mrs D Maudaxi Joanie Loves Chacha JW


The Meriel Hathaway Open Stakes


1st: 6863 NASH, Mrs P Ch Tokaji Moon Over Miami With Mutoko JW ShCEx OSW

Finely boned Basenji bitch of pleasing size, flat well chiselled head with slight stop, dark almond shaped eyes, small ears, well positioned. Strong neck of good length, short level back, ribs well sprung, strong muscular hindquarters which she used to advantage on the move. Moves on a long effortless stride.

2nd: 8730 SPENCER, Miss Nicola & ROBERTS, Mrs Lesley Multi Ch Jackandfish Shady Lady (Imp It)

Sturdy Jack Russell Terrier who is of good proportions, flat skull, well defined stop, quite strong muscle, dark almond shaped eyes. Strong and clean neck, well boned legs, level topline, strong muscular rear, stifles well turned and low set hocks. Moves out positively with a free stride. 

3rd: 7879 MACKFALL, Mr And Mrs John And Cheryl Benicloujam Aumba Breeze Of Africaner


Special Native Vulnerable Stakes

1st: 7684 CROSSE, Mrs A T Rainster Evie

Muscular and well balanced, long head and muzzle, dark eyes. Quite long neck which is strong and well muscled, straight well boned legs, large round feet, deep chested and long backed. Easy, positively mover in a confined ring. Rough, harsh coat well presented and shown in optimum muscletone.

2nd: 9020 WHINCUP, Mr Simon Peter & MCCOURT, Mrs Sue Coriend The Adjudicator By Partisky

Skye Terrier bitch who is long and low. Dark brown eyes of medium size, prick ears, well feathered, quite long neck, short legs and large feet. Moved freely but on her own terms, double coat, well presented.
