Breed: Stakes Day 1

YKC Member Stakes 

1st: TOPLISS, Mrs Trudy Sh Ch Beresford Lockdown

Well balanced ESS who has a good head with dark eyes. Holds a good outline and is clean through the neck, has well boned legs and excellent feet, excellent ribbing, firm loin, level topline and tail well set and carried. Moves out with plenty of enthusiasm and shown in excellent coat and condition. 

2nd: SMITH, Miss S & SMITH, Ms L Teverlarni Stick To Ya Guns

Bracco Italiano of pleasing size and outline. Well boned legs and excellent feet, deep body, correct topline and tail set, shown in hard muscular condition. At his best moving in the large ring, really covering the ground easily in profile on a long and reachy stride.

3rd: CLACK, Mr&Mrs Stephen & Elaine & EDDERY, Mr Edward Epsilon Adhara At Molokain


YKC 6-11

1st: Eliza Darwesh

Coped admirably with a boisterous Labrador, free standing him to advantage and moving him at just the right pace.

2nd: Betty Moore

Showing a Field Spaniel, moving her very well in all directions, stacked up to present a good outline. 


YKC 12-17

1st: Grace Brown

Attentive handler showing a Bracco Italiano and getting the most from him, particularly on the move. Stacked to advantage and shadowed accurately.

2nd: Katie Read

Considerate handler who showed her GSP well, moved at a typical speed for the breed, just needing to finesse the stacking of her charge a little more.


YKC 18-24

1st: Edward Eddery

Capable handler who stacks his charge to advantage and moved her at the correct steady pace. Showed patience and affinity with a young puppy.

2nd: Elsie O'Connor

Elise showed a Nova Scotia duck tolling retriever very effectively, moved at the right pace and stacked quickly and efficiently. 

3rd: Catherine Webb


Adult Handling (17-30)

1st: Rebecca Mills

Quietly and unassumingly showing her Labrador to best advantage, moving her at just the right pace for the breed and getting the best from her at all times. 

2nd: Chloe Clarke

Chloe was very competent at stacking her Irish Setter to advantage, and moves her at a breed specific speed but could be a little more patient with her charge.

3rd: Elizabeth Gough


Adult Handling (31-45)

1st: Laura Elliott

Laura showed her Hungarian Vizsla and stacked her to best advantage, she moved her at a suitable speed and showed an obvious bond with her dog.

2nd: Mary Court

Mary presented her Cocker Spaniel in excellent order, stacked her well, just needs to take a little more time and be less hurried.


Adult Handling 46-60

1st: Jolanta Grogonyte

Jolanta showed her Hungarian Vizsla in exemplary condition and worked at one with her charge, moved at just the right speed and always stacked perfectly.

2nd: Selina Parker-Miles

Selina showed her Curly Coated Retriever to good advantage on the stack, just needs to steady up and slow down a little moving.

3rd: Sophy Pashley


Adult Handling

1st: Simon Whitlick

Standing alone, showing a Lagotto Romagnolo, moving his charge steadily and presenting him in excellent order. Shown in excellent condition,

1st: LOVEROCK, Mrs M & WALDRON-SMITH, Mrs L & ZUBAIR, M Thornywait Starstruck With Lovissa JW

Golden Retriever bitch of pleasing size and overall balance. Head pleasingly proportioned, a little bold in eye perhaps but it is a good colour. Pleasing forehand, shoulders well laid, excellent bone and feet. Deep in body and ribbed well back, holds her topline standing and moving and covers the ground easily in profile, shown in optimum condition.

2nd: BAMBROOK, Mrs Karen & BAMBROOK, Mr Carey Winsleywood Waghorn At Ravoakar JW

Yellow Labrador dog with an an appealing head and expression, excellent pigment. Enough neck, shoulders quite well positioned and he has well boned legs and neat feet. Barrel like ribbing, compact loin, firm in topline and tail well set and carried. Not quite in full jacket here but coat of good texture,over positively in all directions.

3rd: HILL, Miss V & HILL, Mrs A & HILL, Miss L Kanix Sourdough With Calaquendi Be Jr Ch


Vulnerable Native Breed Stakes - Gundog

1st: ARRELL, Mrs Heather Eald Stone Calf With Heaphen

Well conditioned and presented Sussex Spaniel of good balance, masculine head, eyes of correct colour. Firm level topline which never faltered standing or moving. Well angulated rear which he used to advantage on the move on a long steady stride, tail well set and carried and shown in immaculate coat and the best of muscletone.

9 month old Curly coated retriever bitch with a shapely outline, head wedge shaped, dark eyes. Long neck, shoulders well positioned, well boned legs and excellent feet. Deep in body, well muscled quarters and moving out positively in all directions.

3rd: MAPPIN, Ms A Bryerdale Qookaburra (ai)


The Meriel Hathaway Memorial Open Stakes 

1st Sturrock Sh Ch Forfarian Soo Lush JW

Irish Setter bitch who has an excellent outline and is totally balanced. Long and lean head, dark eyes. Muscular neck, shoulders well positioned, straight forelegs. Deep in chest and ribs well sprung, firm in topline. Well muscled quarters, stifles well turned. Free positive mover who covered the ground easily in profile.

2nd Stephen’s Ravenho Up Town Girl for Brightmeadow JW

Upstanding bitch, wedge shaped head, slight stop, dark oval eyes. Strong slightly arched neck, shoulders well laid back. Deep in chest and ribs are well sprung, shown in hard muscletone. Moves out freely in profile.
