London Collie Club

Breed: Collie (Rough)

- [x] London Collie Club 10/6/2024

I would like to thank the officers and committee of The London Collie Club for the invitation to judge today and for their welcome and hospitality. The weather was not very kind in that it was windy and cold compared to the last few years at this show when the sun shone relentlessly. Probably better for the dogs than us humans !

Thank you to all exhibitors for their entries and congratulations to all winners.

Minor Puppy Dog. (2.0)

1st. Tipper’s Tiganlea Turned To Black. Well presented 6 month tricolour so well behaved for one so young. Good bone and substance with pleasing outline, nice head pattern, clean stop and good ears. Head needs to continue to mature and flatten on skull. Nice dark eyes giving a keen expression. Moved well especially true in his rear action.

2nd. Lockyer’s Gataj Lewis Capaldi. S/W, another baby of 7 months presented in good condition and nice overall outline with slightly less bone and substance than 1.

Nice head type with good ear carriage if slightly heavy on the tip. Head needs to continue to develop with more moulding of foreface and a cleaner stop. Eyes are dark but would prefer more obliquely set. Movement a little erratic lacking drive.

Puppy Dog. (7.0)

1st. Turner’s Paulara Blaze of Glory. Impressive 11 month old S/W in good coat and condition. Good head with moulded foreface and clean stop. Lovely sweet eye of correct shape, size and set giving the desired expression. Would prefer ears to be a little tighter on the head and needs to flatten on skull which will no doubt come with maturity. Moved well.

2nd. Spendelow’s Uffspring Undeniable. 10 month old B/M of well broken colour and with good shape and angulation. Finer all through than 1 but nice head qualities of clean lines. Eyes of correct set and size giving a sweet expression and clean stop along with good ear placement. Movement sound.

3rd. Lockyer’s Salsina’s Red Hot Crush with Gataj

Junior Dog. (4.1)

1st. Brookers All About Majic for Corisian. Outstanding S/W youngster just a few days off 12 months old who took my eye immediately. Lovely head with moulded foreface, clean stop and flat skull topped by correctly set ears. Dark eyes correctly set to the headline giving a sweetness of expression rarely seen now. With a good reach of neck and length of back and sound movement he gave the complete package. He just needs to mature into the adult he promises to for the brightest of futures. Delighted to award him the Reserve CC. Congratulations.

2nd. Hassock’s Camanna Cellmate. 17 month old S/W. Good length of head, clean wedge with no hint of coarseness, pleasing eye and expression and good ear carriage. Strong bone and solid construction but was unsettled on the move and lacked the sparkle of 1.

3rd. Toogood’s Hanvale Ralph Lauren.

Novice Dog. (6.1)

1st. Page’s Lynmead Prince Charming. At typical teenage stage of body development and needing time to grow into himself. Lovely head type with moulded foreface clean stop and flat skull. Sweet eye and expression topped with good ear carriage. Good overall shape and moved well. He could well end up a “ Prince Charming”.

2nd. Spendelow’s Undeniable.

3rd. Scott’s Chantique Kingdom of Heaven.

Graduate Dog. (4.1)

1st. Cronk’s Chelborn’s Gambling List. Well presented tricolour in good coat and condition. Lovely moulded foreface, clean stop and flat skull. Soft yet intelligent expression from dark eyes of correct size, shape and set. Good bone and confirmation giving sound moment in both directions.

2nd. King’s Lynmead Prince of Loveat Reserdon. S/W with nice eye and expression and good ears. Clean in stop but would prefer the eyes to be more obliquely set and more moulding of foreface. Good bone and overall shape with good movement.

3rd. Toogood’s Hanvale Ralph Lauren.

Post Graduate Dog. (2.1)

1st. Howard, Newton & Patterson’s Ladnar Dreamchaser. Upstanding B/M of good size, substance and bone. Presented in good coat and condition in complete harmony with his owner. Moved well. Nice mould of foreface, clean wedged skull, clean stop and well placed ears. Eyes that give a soft intelligent expression, would just prefer slightly more obliquely set to the headline.

Mid Limit Dog. (2.1)

1st. Collins’ Triburle Bluebolero. Glamorous B/M of well broken colour. Nice reach of neck and length of back with good angulation resulting in good movement. Good head type with moulded foreface, clean stop, flat skull and good ear set. Warm expression, however I would prefer a more obliquely set eye of almond shape.

Limit Dog. (6.3)

1st. Lockyer’s Gataj Turn Back Time. Well presented and showing off his virtues having a pleasing length of neck and back. Nice head type of clean lines with moulded foreface, clean stop and flat skull. Ears set correctly and used continuously.

Would prefer eyes more obliquely set to give that sweetness of expression I look for.

Moved well.

2nd. Hawkins & Foy’s Beldones Toucher Du Bois. Mature S/W in full coat but maybe not in his best condition. Lovely head type having a good mould of foreface, clean stop, and flat skull. Correct eye shape, size and set just lacking in a bit of sparkle as was reluctant to use his ears. More compact in shape than 1 but with good rib and substance. Moved well.

3rd. Parnham’s Caribbean Blue Sky Actis to Samante (Imp Pol).

Open Dog. (7.2)

1st. Turner’s Chantique Magical Mystery. Lovely headed shaded sable. Smooth moulded foreface, clean stop and flat skull. Used his ears well to show off the sweetest of expressions from almond shaped dark eyes of correct shape, size and set. Presented in good coat and condition, well rounded ribs and good angulation giving sound movement especially when moving away. It was my pleasure to award him the CC which I later found out was his 3rd and crowning CC ( subject to KC confirmation).

2nd. Hawkins & Foy’s Beldones Rocket Man. Another quality dog of good bone and substance. Good head of clean lines, nice mould of foreface, clean stop, flat skull and good ears. Pleasing expression from dark eyes of correct shape and set. Moved well. Reluctant to pull out the stops to show himself off today but did enough to earn this placing.

3rd. Cronk’s Chelborn That’ll Do.

Veteran Dog. (5.3)

1st. Page’s Lynmead Amalie Let Me Go. 11 year old shaded s/w possessing a lovely head, pleasing expression from dark correctly set eyes and flat skull. Good overall shape and confirmation. Seemed to enjoy his day out and he moved well for his owner.

2nd. Spendelow’s Uffspring Unmistakable AW(S). Upstanding golden s/w of 11 years. Longer head type with good outline, bone and length of back. Correctly set ears used continuously with a pleasing expression. Again enjoying his time in the ring and moved with the energy of one half his age.
