King Charles Spaniels – Border Union June 2024

PD

1 Chacombe Just Magical for Justacharma (Mr S C & Mrs G A J Smith). Well developed and sound, moving with confidence and elegance. Nicely rounded skull, with low set ears, large and dark eyes, carrying his head proudly.

2 Baldragon Living The Dream with Khatibi (Miss L & Mr J Tarabad & Whitman). Full of potential, confident and characterful, Nicely developing head, with good dome and nicely open nostrils. Sound, he moved well coming and going and maintained his topline on the move.

GD

1 Lorphil Labryinth (Mrs L M & Mr M Gillhespy & Kirschbaum). Compact and cobby, I liked his head and skull, nice and gentle expression, dark eyes. Moved very well, maintaining a level topline throughout.

LD

1 Tom Des Trois Maillets Baldragon (Imp Fra) NAF (Mrs C Bowles-Robinson). I preferred his head, muzzle and overall shape to 2, though he wasn’t moving to advantage today. He is compact with a good reach of neck, carrying his head proudly, well laid shoulders, straight front and well angulated hindquarters.

2 Justacharma Northern Magic (Miss S Maddison). Moved out well, sound and with elegance. He carried his head well, correct dark and large eyes and had a strong and level topline.

OD

1 Ch Cofton All I Hav to Do Is Dream with Khatibi (Miss L & Mr J Tarabad & Whitman). Really liked this boy. He is cobby, compact, sound and so well built. He has a good reach of neck, carrying his head proudly. Well laid shoulders and short, straight forelegs. Typically domed skull with dark and large eyes giving a gentle expression, I’d prefer a little more width to his muzzle. He is super sound, carries a level topline, and moves with style and elegance. DCC

2 Ch Justacharma Magic Goes On (Mr S C & Mrs G A J Smith). Another very appealing and typical male. He is cobby and well built, though I would prefer a shorter back. He has good coat, long and silky, with rich markings. A nicely domed skull with low set and well feathered ears. RDCC

3 Bonitos Companeros Deluxe Chardonnay (Imp Ger) (Mrs L M & Mr M Gillhespy & Kirschbaum)

VD

1 Paulian Where's Wally JW ShCM VW (Mr I & Mrs P Sidgwick). Super character. Nicely domed skull, well angulated hindquarters, good front, good reach of neck, moved with style.

PB Some very high potential bitches in this class, which is good for the future of the breed.

1 Lovetrac Kamilla (Mr P F Lovel). Loved her head and skull, nicely domed with wide and well cushioned muzzle, dark and expressive eyes framed by low set ears. She is sound and nicely balanced though she needs to settle into herself on the move, but she has a good topline and drive from rear.

2 Lovetrac Katrina Baldragon (Mrs C Bowles-Robinson). Compact and short backed, level topline, took her time to settle but when she did she was a stylish and sound mover, using her nicely angled hindquarters to drive. She has a delightful head and expression. Worth persevering with her.

3 Chacombe Just Charming (Mr S C & Mrs G A J & Mrs P Smith & Smith & Healy-Gates)

GB

1 Lovetrac Katrina Baldragon (Mrs C Bowles-Robinson).

LB

1 Baldragon Russian Around with Khatibi (Miss L & Mr J Tarabad & Whitman). Not in full coat but thought she was most sound, moving very well with real style, confidence and elegance. She is a tad long in loin which affects her overall profile and balance. Though I liked her head and muzzle, square with sufficient cushioning. Low set ears and dark eyes.

2 Aldoricka Sweet Victoria (Mrs D M Bailey). A really lovely and typical headpiece, domed, with a good square muzzle, large and expressive eyes, framed with correctly low set ears. Didn’t have the topline or elegance on the move of 1.

OB

1 Ch Baldragon Fame Game at Ricksbury JW (Mr B Rix). Fits the standard very well for her compact, cobby body. She has a typical skull, domed and with a well defined stop, low set ears and large, dark and expressive eyes giving a most typical expression. Sufficient reach of neck to carry her head proudly, reaching to well laid shoulders and good, strong and level topline that she holds on the move. Moved with active and elegant style. CC & BoB.

2 Cofton Dreamed A Dream at Lovetrac (Mr P F Lovel). Another sound and appealing bitch, cobby and compact with correct short back. Would prefer some more width to her muzzle. Lovely dark and expressive eyes, good domed skull and well set ears. Well angulated hindquarters.

 VB

1 Lorphil Lady’s Mantle (re-Imp) (Mrs L.m. Gillhespy). Lovely veteran bitch, 10yo, good outline, cobby and compact, lovely head shape, low set ears, square muzzle, level topline. She’s a bit wide in front now, but I’ll forgive that, as she moved out with elegance and maintained a good topline.
