I would like to take this opportunity to thank the committee for inviting me to judge Irish Setters. It was an honour to be asked to undertake this appointment. Also thank you to all the exhibitors for entering your dogs and bitches. It was a quality entry with excellent presentation.
Thank you to my 2 stewards who kept the ring running smoothly.
Feet and nails need to be watched, some feet had nails that were so long they were causing feet to splay. This also affected exhibits when moving.
There were also a couple of suspect mouths.

I judged this boy at an open show about 7 years ago, and I was so pleased to be able to see how he has matured and fulfilled the early promise I knew he had. Over the last 6 months this dog has looked the best he ever has. He belies his age and was presented in fabulous hard condition with excellent dark coat and feathering. He has a masculine head but gives a soft expression, eyes of correct shape and colour, ears well set. Correct length of neck, good shoulder placement, with a gently sloping topline which he held on the move. He used his well muscled quarters to take him round the ring effortlessly lashing his tail all the way. Excellent head carriage. He is a credit to both the breeder and handler. I was happy to award this boy the CC and his title. Thank you for bringing him. DCC & BV
