Windsor Dog Show Society

Breed: Saluki

Conditions were perfect for showing but several Salukis did not perform to their best. Some possibly because of the very long wait to get into the ring, others because they were not in harmony with their handler.

Junior Dog (1)

1. Thomas Sincerity Kalimanten Cashar (Imp Fin). Grizzle of fairly refined type and medium size. Really nice head and expression, elegant neck set smoothly into well laid shoulders. Correct width of front and chest infill. Moving he has a light well balanced stride and sound enough in front and behind. .A lovely top class youngster whose qualities took him above more mature dogs in the next class. He could have taken the RCC but was inclined to stand over too much ground so dipping in topline and appearing straight in front and rear angulation. Presented in perfect coat and condition.

Post Graduate Dog (4)

1 Sincerity Kalimantan Cashar (Imp Fin).

2  Kecskes. Sharwassim Graham (Imp Swe) Grizzle who is of old fashioned Saluki type with no exaggerations.. Very nice head and pleasant expression. Excellent front with correct width and infill of chest. Good shoulder and forehand angulation. Correct spring of rib with good top and underlines. Sound mover in front but his lack of hind angulation leads to stilted hind movement. Can be quite proud of his tail at times. Overall I thought he stood out for his lovey breed type.

3 Ravensett Ashkan.

Limit Dog (6) (1).

1.De Souza and Woodgate. Luachmhar Jalil. Larger black/tan who carries himself proudly with long striding, elegant movement. He has an old fashioned type Saluki head. Good smooth set of neck into well laid shoulders and good upper arm angulation. Nice body lines and good fall away over croup. Strong thighs with proper hock angulation which is missing on so many. Very long Saluki feet which could be tighter. I felt he could have appeared more together if in harder condition. He was held back from top honours as needs more forechest and firmer front movement. However his cooperation with his experienced handler won him the RCC.

2. Strong. Shahzad Zaki Ter Dolen Top quality fawn sable who after a very long wait to get into the ring showed off his exuberance to excess! Really eye-catching, well constructed, handsome male in full maturity who could have taken the top spot today if his movement had been controlled. In a beautiful coat and conditioned to perfection.

3. Littlechild and Danks-Kemish.Ravensett Musarra.

Open Dog. (2)

1. Chippendale. Flytesfield Hyddwn. Fawn sable who is still rather immature for the open class and not near his best yet. His conformation can't be seriously faulted being correctly moderately angulated fore and aft. Correct amount of body, spring of rib and depth of brisket with clean cut up to waist. Just needs to let down into his hocks more  Well handled and moved consistently balanced and soundly both front and rear to take the CC.

2. De Souza and Woodgate.  Caryna Taivoa. His beautiful black grizzle colouring and competent presentation makes an immediate good impression. .Particularly good front and forechest. Nice forehand angulation and lay of shoulders. Good spring of rib, bodylines and cut up to waist  I would have preferred a finer head, less slope to croup and better hock angulation.  Stood out for his movement being both balanced and sound both ways.

Junior Bitch (1)

1. Jowitt.  Barleymoon Zala. Elegant and lightly built quality fawn presented in lovely condition. Her profile movement is light and flowing. Nice topline and underline.. I would prefer a less upright neck set and lack of forearm return spoils her outline. She certainly enjoys showing and has a delightful temperament.

Post Graduate Bitch (2)

1. Woolmer. Al Nafiseh Flowering Sage  Quality dark cream bitch who I was surprised to find still at this level as a Veteran. She appealed for her femininity and moderate size. Shown in faultless condition. Movement is totally balanced  and very sound both coming and going which put her in contention for the RCC.  I would just have preferred a less upright neck set to complete her outline.  Certainly enjoys her time in the ring. Best Veteran.

2. Quick. Jojenjo Maja Ma Al Amel. Unfortunately this quality youngster was up against a mature bitch in her prime.  Pretty head, long neck set smoothly into well set shoulders. I particularly liked her wide, strong thighs but would prefer better hock angulation. Very well developed throughout for her age and in hard muscular condition.

Limit Bitch (6).

1. Velickaite. Al Nafiseh Ivory Pearl.  A very enthusiastic cream show girl who immediately catches the eye. Most beautiful quality and elegant bitch in perfect condition.. Hard to fault standing and with her free flowing profile movement can't fail to impress.  I thought could be my CC winner but in the final Challenge threw away her chances by moving unbalanced and less positively in front movement than the eventual winners.

2. Lewis. Knightellington E-Isora.  This mature gold bitch is of an older plainer Saluki type who it's great to see still exists to be appreciated. Very sound throughout, properly moderately put together with good muscle tone which produces sound, balanced movement. This bitch doesn't need to be placed into a show stance as she stands perfectly by herself, just like her predecessors who I have done well in the past.

3. Littlechild. Ravensett Mehrassa.

Open Bitch ( 4 )(2)

1. Layton-Smith. Velourias Dee Dee Vine.  Black grizzle who was perfectly presented and in great coat and condition. . Long, elegant neck set smoothly into well laid shoulders, correct topline and underline with brisket not too deep. Good slope to croup and perfect tail set and carriage. Strong first thighs but I would prefer stronger second thigh and hock set. Very lady-like in her attitude to showing herself off. Never put a foot wrong and moved gracefully and with precision every time. CC & BOB. I thought she was a very worthy representative for the Breed in the Hound Group.

2. Ruweis Mahnisa. Smaller but well developed pale cream who I very much liked for her size and lack of exaggerations. Feminine head, slightly arched neck set smoothly into well laid shoulders, nice forearm return. Sensible, correct depth of brisket. Ideal topline running smoothly from bottom of neck finishing by rising up over her loin and perfect angle to croup.Good strong thighs. I would just prefer a little more bend of stifle. Very sound mover and the picture was completed when her handler loosened the lead to allow her to show off her elegant head carriage in the final circle of the ring. RCC.
